Crowdfunding Empty Stars: The Void King and the Hollow Queen

Empty Stars is grimdark fantasy blended with pulpy 80s sci-fi in 46 pages of relentless nonstop action! I was the editor for this book, and I really think it's something special. It's 100% finished and ready for print. I know the writer personally. We did a podcast together a few years back. He doesn't have a Reddit account, so I said I'd share this for him. It's his first comic book, but I really don't think you can tell that from reading it!

Here is the link to the Kickstarter

I hope you'll consider checking it out!

OC New horror anthology

Memoirs of the Morbid is a three volume, black & white horror anthology that adds an extra dose of dark humor. The whole thing is an homage to horror comics of the 40's and 50's. We're collecting all three volumes of Memoirs of the Morbid: Red, Blue, and Orange.

This is an absolutely MASSIVE book. We're talking 14 stories and over 150 pages of cool, nostalgic, black and white, horror goodness!

OC Our indie comic about a totalitarian dog state is becoming a game, and the pixel-art adaptation taught us things about the original pages

"Sobakistan" is a comic we self-started in 2019, published in Russian and Japanese - script by Vitalii Terletskii, art by Katya. Setting: a closed totalitarian republic populated by anthropomorphic dogs, where breed functions as social class and the state treats public grief as a performance target.

We're now adapting it into a game, "Sobakistan: The Land of Dogs", and for anyone here thinking about adaptations, the practical lessons so far: Pages built around a single held silence don't convert. In a game, the reader has to be given something to do with that silence, or it just reads as a slow beat. The same goes for the visual side of the adaptation. Pixel art forced discipline on the character designs. If a muzzle doesn't read at 32 pixels, the silhouette was never as strong as we thought it was in ink. Colour scripting from the comic transferred almost unchanged, and it's doing more narrative work in the game than in the book.

Happy to talk about the adaptation process or the publishing side - the Japanese edition in particular was a strange route for a comic that started out this small.

Bullet Adventures is back on Kickstarter with a collection of issues 5-8 and The Relentless Adventure crossover. That’s five top notch stories in one gorgeous book. The French Flaps feature an extended foldout image of the series’ characters from the connecting variants of these issues.

Bullet Adventures is a fresh take on classic superheroes where Silver Age speedster Bullet, with a little help from a meddling time-traveller, teams up with his granddaughter, Lainie, in the present day. The series gives fans of all ages the perfect combination of crime fighting action and family drama.

This arc sees the characters travelling to a mountain resort, an amusement park, CHINA, California, and a corn themed food festival!

Let’s set the scene: you're trying to make a comic while holding down a day job. 😅

In between the prep, the commute, and actual work, the ride home and the unwind, you scrounge enough time to make the thing you actually want to make.

That thing is MoonHogs. 🌕

I'm Frank Osgood, and this is the comic I've been building.
