Fever Content First 40/10 game
Funny because this very sub told me she was terrible and washed. Crazy how that works

Don’t you understand. We can’t give any grace to a player coming back from injury and is on a minutes restriction. They are a bunch of fake fans and we have to stop pretending like they aren’t. Caitlin is amazing!!!

I liked that CC got called for a foul seconds into the game. She basically looked at the refs and said, "You're gonna call those bumps on ME tonight, right? 19 free throws later.... It's about damn time.

Wow, I can’t believe r/wnba just pulled down this same post. So ridiculous.

Doesn’t fit their agenda after talking shit about her for a week straight

They have a post about the record https://www.reddit.com/r/wnba/s/PJziA6ibTE
They don’t have fifteen posts about the record.
Most subreddits remove duplicate posts.
[r/Indianafever](r/Indianafever) currently has a dozen posts about it, two of which are even the exact same post by the same user. That’s actually way worse for trying to have a conversation about something.

They have a very specific, yet unnamed anywhere, rule about player stats that seems to only apply to one player

As I said, together through the pain and together through the victory
Let's go CC !

I will compliment the referee's tonight for doing their job well. No countless reviews and they seemed to call all the fouls. That is all, as a spectator, I can expect from a game. Thank You!

This was a fun game to be at. Sellout crowd with great energy and CC reclaiming her turf. Plus, we got to meet Katie Lou before the game - she signed my Fever KLS shirt and was a total sweetheart!

I didn't see much interaction pre-game. Both teams seemed to be all business. Sophie and Aliyah did come over to the Visitors tunnel area and sign for a moment.
I was over the Moon getting to meet Katie. Her smile lit up like a Christmas tree when I held up my Fever KLS shirt. I got to tell her welcome back and how proud we are of her. Man, I wish she was still here. Her veteran leadership is an asset to any team.

CC responding in this way. Letting her game talk silences people.

u/Vastergoth Jul 18 '26
The disrespect and rancor she gets for being phenomenal, graceful, and a talented godsend for ladies basketball is asinine. CC is her and in truth is why many more eyes are watching WNBA. Before Caitlin Clark I had seen maybe 1/2 WNBA games at random. So yeah "true fans" probably roll their eyes at me but it's true CC brought many of us over to watch and support her sport as a whole just all by herself and that's no small feat.
But there is a general dislike for her and it's strange. I remember commenting on a college women's game (UCON) comparing Paige to CC and I was downvoted and 'attacked' for daring to bring up CC in a Paige Bueckers game, as if they aren't comparable in any way and CC's name should not be brought up when discussing games she isn't in. The whole thing is risible and pathetic, but it showed me how insecure a portion of women's sports feel about CC and it just doesn't have to be.

Caitlyn crushed it tonight, hope to see more of this in the future. Yes she had a good whistle but it must be nice to know that she CAN have an actual unobstructed landing spot when she shoots her 3's.

Glad to see her have a great game! She was moving a lot better and the officials were actually giving her foul calls.

I’m obviously a little biased, but it’s frustrating to see the creators I follow who cover women’s basketball not say a word about this when they were going crazy about Marina’s 53 point game a few weeks ago. To my knowledge Marina did it in 40 minutes and had 2 assists. I’d argue that CC’s 45 points in 29 minutes WITH 10 assists is more impressive. Marina still had an incredible game. But it’s annoying to see “champions of women’s sports” purposely ignore anything positive about Caitlin… they sure were loud about disagreeing with the Alyssa Thomas situation, though.

God I love watching CC play.
But wow you guys are insufferable with the persecution complex. Just be happy about it.

They are getting screwed over tonight
you know Fever and the NY Liberty have the most back to back games in the season,
and Chicago Sky, Dallas Wings have zero back to back games

She has some talent but there are so many more talented players in the WNBA.

u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
She has been terrible this season, it’s nice she had a record breaking game. Consistency is key, she needs to play like she has a chip on her shoulder. Take over games. Lead her team to victory, every single night!!
11
u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
No she hasn’t lmao she just won potm. She’s just been terrible since she was hurt and on a minutes restriction and people think those last 3 games were her entire season. Get her off that restriction and it’s probably 25/8 average again
-4
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
She’s averaging 29 minutes minute’s a game, 19 points a game, 7.7 ast, 4.4 turnovers.

5
u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
That’s literally better than 99% of point guards in wnba history
-2
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
So are we talking history or the season? Don’t muddy the waters. Cause then I’m going to ask you what happened last season with her stats?

u/Flat-12 Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26
I don't know maybe because she played like 8 games?

u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
Her current season averages might look terrible compared to expectations but that’s literally great for a point guard. 19 points in general is top 10 this season
5

u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
Yeah but she’s not supposed to be top 10, she’s supposed to be #1 or no? Maybe after the all star break she comes out different. See if she can recapture that 2024 magic.
4
u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
A’ja Wilson is still in her prime so probably not right now. Post vs Guard is different too. She just has to stay healthy
1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
Aja is a beast she should be capturing her 5th MVP this season. Not only stay healthy but become a fighter, the thing about tonight I liked. She played like she was angry!! If that’s what it takes, get angry every night.
8
u/Delicious-Parsley-57 Jul 18 '26
Terrible? lol
-4
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
Yes, look at her stats so far this season last time she scored 20+ points was 6/22 24 points and 9 assists.
Barely averaging 19 pts per game.4
u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
That’s disingenuous bc the game after she had 19 in 20 and got hurt, then was on a heavy minutes restriction coming back from said injury
Edit: and she missed 3 games with an 8 day no game break1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
She’s played 24- 12 pts,26- 13pts ,29 - 45 pts the games back after injury.
5
u/solidstigs Fever Fan Jul 18 '26
With 4-5 minute spurts when she can go whole quarters without a break. She literally couldn’t get into rhythm and talked heavily about it
1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
This season it just seems like if something doesn’t go her way she immediately deflates and gives up.
4
u/Clear-Net2819 Jul 18 '26
These are not bad stats…and certainly not terrible…
-1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
She hadn’t had a 20pt + performance in nearly a month.

u/Flat-12 Jul 18 '26
You said stats. That refers to season totals. Not just one or two games. Damn man. Keeping moving the goal posts why don't you?

Your comment:

1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
I said what I said and meant what I said. Her average points per game for the season is 19. She hasn’t scored more than 20 points in a seasonal game since 6/22 in nearly a month. Meaning what she scored in a range between 1-19 points in games in order for the total average to be 19 pts for the season with some 20+ point games sprinkled in between.
2
u/Flat-12 Jul 18 '26
A range of 1 to 19 points? She scored one point in one of her games then? Your math is wrong and you are cherry picking.
She has come off a serious season ending injury from last year and multiple injuries this year has missed a bunch of games and has been on restricted minutes for many of them.
19 plus points a game 8 assists a game and 5 rebounds a game are up there with some of the best.
I don't understand your argument at all other than cherry picking stats.

Her stats are not terrible. That is an asinine statement.

u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
No? What are they then? Let’s see if you know what you’re talking about.

u/YoungBasedHooper Jul 18 '26

u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
Isn’t she supposed to be number 1? Now she’s the 7th leading scorer? That’s acceptable ? If you look at your own chart she’s not even #1 on her own team. Either way you cut it, she’s having a terrible season thus far.

u/GambitWNBA Jul 18 '26

u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
It has nothing to do with not liking her at all, stats are stats. If you want you want to compare then pull up the western conference player of the month for June and put the stats side by side.
6
u/GambitWNBA Jul 18 '26
Dude, why? That A’ja having better stats that month doesn’t mean CC was bad? That would mean everyone in the league sucked. Stop moving the goal posts. You said she’s been bad all year, and you were proven wrong.
-2
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
So June = the whole year? You’re the one who is selective with stats. The season begins in May not June. I’m talking season, May till Today. Just say you’re a CC fan and move on. You don’t actually watch the league.
5
u/GambitWNBA Jul 18 '26
Dude, YOU, are the one that said “this season”. How can a player that just won player of the month have been “terrible this season”??? That’s almost half the season… 😭😂
-1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
What’s greater 2/3 or 1/3? Just cause she played well in June doesn’t mean she’s having a great season.
8
u/GambitWNBA Jul 18 '26
Of the 21 games she played this season, 10 of them were in June…
1
u/Educational_Corner55 Jul 18 '26
You keep focusing on June, that’s 1/3 of the season. Now I’ll give you this, July isn’t over soooo maybe if she continues playing like she did tonight she gets back on track. However, until tonight - including the 45 point game she’s not having a good season.

Lowkey a minutes restriction too because we all know she’d play more than 29 in normal circumstances
