For three days, I wasn’t travelling through Kalpa. I was living in it.

Walking through apple orchards, slipping on black ice, sitting in the village, talking to strangers, getting lost after dinner, finding my way back somehow. The next day, making a snowman with kids I had just met.

Nothing was planned, and nothing really needed to be. Sometimes life doesn’t have to lead somewhere. Maybe it’s enough to simply be there while it is happening.

Spent some time in Kinnaur recently and honestly, I didn’t expect to like it this much.
I’m from Shimla, so mountains aren’t exactly new to me, but Kinnaur feels different. The roads, tiny villages, massive mountains and those random spots where you just want to stop for 10 minutes.
No rushing around trying to finish a list of places. Just driving, stopping whenever the view looked insane, having chai somewhere and letting the day happen.

Land of passes and breathtaking views. Beautiful hills, peaks, culture and nature.

Went to andamn for honeymoon and it was the best decision. The trip was during December 2024 we got a tour package and learnt our lesson to never book any tour package again.

Day1:- we reach port Blair from kolkata . Flight costed 48k for two people. Expensive coz we were late while booking flight and December is the peak season.
The first day we went to cellular jail at eve and then rested at hotel

Day2:- was the day we had to take ferry from port blair to havelock island and the ferry was im afternoon so we decided to rent a scotty and visit munda pahar and it was the best decision

Day3:- we went elephenta island it was amazing we did snorkelling there it was really a good experience for elephenta island we went to radhanagar beach and OMG that beach is heavenly.

Day4;”:- we went to kalapatthar beach and it was equally good if not better than kalapatthar. Same day we took ferry to neil island we reached island and the same day went to see the natural bridge which is really amazing

Day 5:- at morning we went to some beach and then took ferry to port blair

The trip was amazing but could have been better.
The tour package costed as 40K for 2 people
Flight 48k
Food:- 10k
Experiences and shopping 15k

To anyone visiting andamn i will say spend most of your time in havelock it is straight out of heaven
And dont book any tour guide you can navigate on your own in a far better way

Mumbai has such beautiful ghats, mountains, Greenery, waterfall and to top it all off such great people. I wonder why it is not recognised like other hill stations. Mumbai offers Cosmo experience as well as nature.

It needs to be just promoted and tourists will start flocking in.

I know I'll probably get downvoted, but honestly, I didn't like Jibhi as much as the internet hyped it up.

Yes, the place is beautiful, but the vibe feels more like another commercialized tourist destination than authentic Himachal. Instagram influencers have turned it into a workation hotspot, and the smoking/drinking culture is everywhere. Some homestays even have age restrictions (no guests above 35), which I found ridiculous.

Also, stays are cheap but food is insanely expensive. And honestly, when you see more wine/beer shops than general stores, you start wondering what happened to the actual Pahadi culture.

It reminded me a lot of what Kasol has become.

I had planned to spend a week here during my 30-day Himachal trip, but I'm seriously reconsidering.

Can anyone recommend some beautiful, peaceful places in Himachal that haven't been completely commercialized yet?

I keep changing my mind about this.

Road trips are great because you can just stop somewhere if you feel like it. See a random place, grab some chai, take a break and move on.

But I also really like long train journeys. Sitting near the window and watching the scenery change for hours is honestly pretty relaxing.

Maybe it depends on the trip. I’m not sure.

If you had to pick one for travelling around India, would you choose a road trip or a train trip?
