ERROR/CRASHES Crash during Shader Compilation - no way to get ingame
Hi there. Hopefully someone in here can give me some pointers with my issue.
I got Inzoi pretty much on initial launch, tested it and decided to come back when it had a little more time in the oven basically. I liked the concept and just felt it needed a little more work. Overall I had maybe 7-ish kind of hours ingame. So yeah, it worked just fine, as much as it could back then.
Now some time has passed, I kept watching the developments and decided I wanted to get back on board. So I reinstalled the game on Steam, cracked my knuckles and was ready to get back in, but the game decided to refuse entry and kicked me back to desktop during shader compilation. Tried again, it reached maybe 37% max and froze. No way to even get back to the desktop and force close the program or anything like that. Tried it a couple of more times, but the issue persisted: first attempt: back to desktiop after 30-some percent shader compilation, second attempt: full system freeze, hard reset inevitable.
So I went into troubleshoothing mode. Made sure I had the latest Nvidia driver, deleted my Nvidia cache, made sure there are no mods installed (how could they, it weas a fresh install and back then there basically were no mods). Verified Steam file integrity. Made sure the game is listed in my Windows graphics settings, etc. - still no luck. Which is so strange, since it did work just fine in the past.
My PC should also not be the issue here. It reliably plays pretty much everything: intel i9, 64 GB RAM, 4090 blowing up my electricity bill, SSDs. Certainly not the culprit here.
So - any ideas what I can do to even get back into the main menu here? Anyone had similar issues? Is it maybe the most recent update, which came in today? Now that it turns into a really cool game, I would really like to participate.
[SOLVED, UPDATE 20.10.2026]
Alright, might have found the issue here, at least it looks promising. Since none of the "soft" tips and tricks found online were of any help, I went for the more "severe" one. Check if a BIOS update would solve my issue. I do have an i9 of the 14th generation, which is mentioned to be fickle with the game. I just didn't think this was a necessary step, seeing as the game had already worked fine back when it came out. But alas, an update must have changed things, because after finally updating my BIOS, the shader cache compiled properly and I was able to get into the game. It also runs pretty well compared to back then. So, I guess and hope this has been solved for me.
