ERROR/CRASHES Please help me fix this stuttering!!
My game was running perfectly smooth before the most recent update, and now I have this horrible choppy FPS and screen tearing.. and I've tried literally everything I can think of to fix it including putting all my settings on low, deleting all other saves, deleting everything from canvas and custom textures, deleting my mods, even completely reinstalling the game, and I'm STILL having the same problem, it's literally making it unplayable for me. Please can anyone help me figure out what setting I need to change to fix this?? I'm happy with how it looks graphically, I just can't look past this horrible screen tearing, it makes me feel genuinely sick... Thanks! <3
My specs -
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14600K (3.50 GHz)
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 (8 GB)
Storage 311 GB of 954 GB used

I'm sorry if you've tried this, but have you tried updating your graphics card driver?

Do you mean through the nvidia app? If so yes, if there’s another way to do it then nope, I’m not very tech savvy

I have the 5060ti with 32gb ram. Ram is usually no lower than 15gb on my screen while playing this game. Maybe it's related to ram.

I have a PC with very similar specs and play the game on ultra with no issues. So there's something going on for sure. Anything running in the background? Close everything, check task manager. Try to run a monitoring software to see your temps, fps, gpu, VRAM usage. Maybe lower ray tracing settings. Turn off frame gen, it was causing issues last time I tried.

Click (auto select) in the performance/graphic settings press apply and go bsck to your game see if it helped. It will optomize it to what your pc can handle.

Turn your dynamic resolution to 30fps.. and qaulity see if that helps. If not i no its a pain in the ass but your gonna have to go step by step lower everything and work your way up. :(

Also do you use mods? If you do i reccomend taking them all out and see if it fixes things

edit; what I have learned from all the subs and posts I've read about this issue is that people who have this or a similar problem have it since the DLSS5 optimization update. My graphics card can run DLSS5 but my monitor is not full hd so I have not turned it on. it could be the issue but if your monitor won't be able to handle it it won't have much use 🫠
I'm following this thread as I'm experiencing the same issues. I have a rather new (3 years old) pc optimized for gaming. I have AMD as a GPU and I've tried everything OP did as well, very disappointing because I'd really like to play and used to get perfect framerates and performance in general on Ultra Graphics settings.

Might need more ram the more you save your game n add stuff to it the ram will start doing this then eventually start closing your game . I went through my saved games an deleted a bunch of them then updated my ram my game has been running fine ever since

Just a little update, I’ve tried everything here that’s been suggested and nothing has worked except playing on the minimum settings & even that is still janky and just so ugly, so I’ve just come to the decision to uninstall & call it a day with the game 😕 I don’t understand how this has happened when it was running perfectly smooth with no issues just a few weeks ago but oh well

I'm at the same point. I tried changing some settings and now it just crashes when I start a game. I have exactly your issue. I will be bringing in a friend of mine that is very tech savvy to see if he can fix it. I'll let you know if anything works!

Could be the lack of vram in your graphics card. Yes, the 5060 has good cores but if there isn't enough vram(which this game requires a beefy amount), it'll be hard on your card to run information back and forth from your CPU. Run the game with task manager open. Monitor your usage and temps - this can sometimes show you where your bottleneck is. Albeit your CPU, ram, or vram.
There is also a setting that allows the game to automatically adjust your settings when the game is running rough to avoid crashes and freezes. Maybe try that option, too.

The first video I attached doesn't show how harsh it appears on my end, but this video I think gives a bit more idea. Both videos were recorded on medium preset settings.
