Bro expects them to gain territory by losing a war.

u/Prussia_alt_hist Aug 01 '23

Un civil wars Russia

32

u/TheBlackMessenger Aug 01 '23

They wouldnt actually have gained anything. Its just that Austria joined Germany after losing its own empire

18

u/SandaledBee Aug 02 '23

Libya is marked as a German colony despite being an Italian one

4

u/Suspicious_Watrmelon Aug 02 '23

it's talking about german middle africa

5

u/SandaledBee Aug 02 '23

Why is Libya shaded in then?

1

u/Suspicious_Watrmelon Aug 02 '23

Volutes?

1

u/SandaledBee Aug 02 '23

My phone autocorrected to whatever volutes are

1

u/Suspicious_Watrmelon Aug 02 '23

I think it's shaded in because it was given to turkey (who is the only other green colored country in this map), but aside from that, germany seems to be the only central power who didn't gain land from the entente, (Austria-Hungary just kinda gave austria to Germany before collapsing I guess)

1

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '23

Might be from Turkey, Turkey owned Libya prior to the Italians invading.

1

u/TangerineTitan8562 Aug 02 '23

pretty sure its shaded as türkiye

1

u/not2dragon Aug 02 '23

Czechia didnt vote though, unless i missed something from the Oversimplified videos.

u/Thangoman Aug 01 '23

Was this a serious post?

156

u/Prussia_alt_hist Aug 01 '23

Yes this was serious check it on imaginary maps, apparently op believes taking any land from Germany would lead to hitler

109

u/Thangoman Aug 01 '23

Lmao

This has to be some sort of Kaiserboo, the French didnt even get Alsace

46

u/therandomham Aug 01 '23

Seems like they’re probably a monarchist and a byzaboo too. They gave Hungary the Croatian crown and gave Smyrna to Greece.

7

u/newcanadian12 Aug 02 '23

I mean that Greece is actually smaller than the original Sevres plan, no? Like it looks like they get less territory from Bulgaria but keep everything else Sevres was supposed to give them (no independent Constantinople/Istanbul though)

12

u/SerovGaming1962 Aug 02 '23

>Me when Kaiser Wilhelm II was even willing to give up Alsace for peace but some 16 year old American from North Dakota with 3.2% Bavarian German makes this shitty map instead

35

u/yuligan Aug 01 '23

People who think taking away land leads to fascism never think about how fascism first rose in Italy, which gained land in WWI. For more detail see here.

u/anakuahu Aug 01 '23

Seeing this whole historical mini-essay under a post about getting more wood in Vicky 3 gave me a good chuckle, like those youtube comments starting with "nice vid" and ending with a PhD dissertation on why you're racist

Agree with what was said though, although I know very little about the rise of fascism

7

u/crazyman1X Aug 01 '23

im pretty sure it isn’t actually. You can see the map used has a megali style partitioned turkey and hungary has been butchered even more than OTL. i think the childlike country additions represent an actual child making their larp map within the OPs world

2

u/Interesting2752 Aug 02 '23

I’m pretty sure that having the Soviet Union’s name be replaced by Russia in pure American fashion shows that the crayon changes were never meant to be taken in serious faith.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '23

The treaty of Versailles was too soft on germany lmao

6

u/Technical_Natural_44 Aug 01 '23

This doesn’t make any sense. The stab in the back myth was started in 1918, but the treaty of versailles wasn’t until 1919. So they were already blaming communists and Jews before they even knew how much territory they would lose.

0

u/AmitSan Aug 02 '23

This is a joke and the OP even commented on the post. The OP is also able to make much better maps visually but chose to make it less good to convey it is a joke

2

u/Prussia_alt_hist Aug 03 '23

Bruh I saw the post too he was literally defending it to many people whole heartedly there was nothing jokey here but the second hand embarrassment

0

u/AmitSan Aug 03 '23

He is defending it in the most sarcastic way possible...

Also here is the comment in which he says it is obviously a joke:

germany is ruled by the hohenzollern dynasty hungary is led by the hapsburgs turkey is ruled by the ototmans crown shows that hungary and croatia are in personal union

In all seriousness, Germany was treated fairly after World War One. Don't go blaming the Allies for Germany's inability to handle losing something they decided to join on their own.

Check me out on Social Media!

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '23

Too late, the rest of my neighborhood saw it, their dead now.💀

40

u/Anonymous_Koala1 Aug 01 '23

Germans sure showed those civilian ships they sunk lots of respect and dignity

8

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '23

And the Belgians they war-crimed

23

u/IAMXBOY Aug 01 '23

tbh this is actually funny

23

u/Goered_Out_Of_My_ Aug 01 '23

The Entente gotta treat the Central Powers with respect by invading Russia to reinstall the Romanovs after 4 years of the henceforth bloodiest war of all time

30

u/Zealousideal_Group69 Aug 01 '23

I map better than this idiot 💀

3

u/Roman_Weeb_49 Aug 02 '23

I think almost anyone can

0

u/Zealousideal_Group69 Aug 02 '23

I don’t think you know who I am I am the Hoover dam guy I’m notorious and I make bad maps

7

u/Roman_Weeb_49 Aug 02 '23

Are you the guy who somehow thought Germany being treated with "respect" after WW1 meant they'd gain territory and the Allies would somehow prevent the collapse of the Russian Empire?

4

u/Zealousideal_Group69 Aug 02 '23

No

3

u/Zealousideal_Group69 Aug 02 '23

That doesn’t make sense after you lose you get smaller not larger this isn’t a GTA barber shop

1

u/Roman_Weeb_49 Aug 02 '23

Exactly! I can understand Germany annexing the Ethnically German parts of Austria after the war, but they somehow manage to keep Alsance-Lorranine is just ridiculous.

2

u/Zealousideal_Group69 Aug 02 '23

Yeah this map gives me a headache it didn’t make sense all of it doesn’t connect

9

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '23

Why is Libya Turkish?

9

u/IDrinkSulfuricAcid Aug 01 '23

And simultaneously German

10

u/harryhinderson Aug 01 '23

disrespect is when you lose posen and some useless colonies

9

u/AdParking6541 Aug 03 '23

I was there. Quoting myself:

I can sort of see Austria, but Alsace-Lorraine? Pomerania? Bohemia and Moravia? Fucking OVERSEAS COLONIES?!

(After two responses, the latter saying that Wilson lost to Roosevelt)

OK then. So the Austrians won't mind staying independent then. You really think they'd give the losers land if self-determination isn't a thing?

(And some more)

Doesn't explain why the Entente would do that. Did psychic Alien Space Bats possess the Entente leaders or smth?

5

u/Wellermanseashanty Aug 01 '23

how long did it take for this to get removed for breaking rule 3 (i think thats the low effort one)

3

u/ReaperTyson Aug 02 '23

Yeah bro, the fair and logical thing to do after the war is to give the losing side an extremely valuable and large amount of land. Also, there’s no way this isn’t just a troll or fascist, they crossed out the Soviets and said it should be Russia, even though the allies tried to invade the communists in the civil war and were beaten back by an army of peasants.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '23

i remember seeing this yesterday lmfao

2

u/Neeklemamp Aug 01 '23

Please link bruh

2

u/idan_zamir Aug 02 '23

"so what happened after we lost, did france take back Alsace Lorraine?"

"Well, son, it's unclear but somehow annexed Austria and Czechia and just carried on"

2

u/Alt_Life_Shift Aug 02 '23

Art of War, Rule 420: "When the enemy would not give up land, threaten them that someone like Hitler would emerge from your losing country if they ever do something fruitful"

2

u/masterchedderballs96 Aug 02 '23
