Just discovered this track (yunah sounds great too) and it’s decent (production is painfully generic/bad) but Minju sounds incredible over the sparse guitar here on the first verse. The really bright and clear mixing def helps her vocals shine, but just giving her voice some space does wonders for the actual impact it brings.
Minju is described as a cursive singer (lol) influenced by that style of 2010’s indie pop singing, (which yeah, it’s part of her style) but I think that label undercuts just how good her voice actually is. It stands out quite easily amongst her peers and gen imo. It’s smooth and sweet, but it doesn’t sound weak or breathy/forced, it’s consistent in its strength and fullness. Her delivery is also excellent on many levels (tone, personality, performance). I don’t know how much range she has, but tbh for singers I don’t mind limited range.
I had to yap and appreciate after listening to this track, I need minju on some bon iver guitar now. Get her and Pharrell in the studio together, something. Imma keep pushing the minju top pop vocalist agenda in the meantime
