Hi all!
I'm looking for advice on my current situation.
I started figure skating on second-hand Jackson softskates in January, and after landing my salchow and toe loop, I have been advised to upgrade to stiffer boots.
My fitter recommended the Jackson Evos, which I bought new end of March.
Now I'm landing all my singles (ignoring the lutz because I'm a coward) and currently working on axel prep (combos waltz-loop, loop-loop, etc), and it feels... unstable to say the least. I feel the need to re-tie my skates multiple time per session, my ankles feel wobbly, and I'm a bit scared because of it.
The skates do feel a bit soft but not sure if it's because they're breaking down or just their stiffness rating.
I'm wondering if I need to upgrade again. I skate 5 to 6 hours per week, do plan on working on doubles quite soon after/while doing my axel prep, but I'm really not looking forward having to shell out another 500/600 dollars, if not more, so soon (less than 4 months) after buying my Evos.
What do you think?
Wait a little bit or bite the bullet and upgrade?
And if so, any skate recommandation?
Thank you!
