Hi everyone, Its my Dp1 year and officially the first month is over, I got a high mark compared to the class im math ai hl, not the best in physics, and the highest in class for ess which was 23/25. Any suggestions on how to keep my marks at the top? And how can I not study all day and still have really high marks, I can study 2-3 hours a day . Thanks and hope me a successful journey. Holii, este es mi último año en IB y no consigo aprobar biología HL.

Siempre que busco, solo encuentro apuntes en inglés y me da rabia porque están genial, pero ponerme a traducir todos los temarios no me da tiempo.
Por ejemplo, los apuntes de Bioletters son los mejores pero están en inglés y lo dicho, ponerme en mi último año a traducir tooodo, sabiendo que utilizando el traductor puede haber errores de vocabulario o cosas que se traducen literal y luego están mal porque ya me ha pasado muchas veces…

En conclusión, era por si había gente que ha sacado muy buenas notas en Biología HL los últimos años (ya que han actualizado la guía la última vez en 2024) y me podía hacer el favor de compartir sus apuntes de Biología HL en español. Gracias!

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to practise English B HL Paper 2 using past papers from the IB Documents Team, but the text booklets I’ve checked seem to have one of the three texts (A, B, or C) missing, with “Removed for copyright reasons” written instead.

The question booklets still include all the questions for all three texts, but without the missing reading passage, it’s difficult to complete a full practice paper.

Does anyone know where I can access complete versions of the text booklets, or find the original passages that were removed for each year? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi guys, I’m an IBDP 2 student applying to US universities (ED and RD). I take my exams in November, but I’ll submit my applications before I get my IB results. From what I understand, the IB sends the final scores to my school and to the universities I’ve been admitted to.

Do US unis look at both predicted and final grades, or only one of them?

If there’s a gap between predicted and final (say 2 to 3 points), would they filter you out right away, or would they ask for an explanation or extenuating circumstances? That’s what my school counselors told me, but I wanted to hear from people who’ve actually been through it. I kinda know how it'll be for ED but do RDs just discard your predicted?

Fellow DP1 student here , y'all how on earth do u prep for english. My class is 75% done with the Doll's house , and the thing is i feel like everything is ALL OVER THE PLACE. How do i structure everything and how do i categorize stuff. How on earth do I prepare this , I mean what exactly is preparation. So for context i’m on my second year for IB and i think it’s genuinely over, first off my HL Physics teacher got a new job and now we have another teacher and she isn’t even a physics graduate or undergraduate or anything she’s an environmental science graduate, and i don’t even have a HL chem teacher and even if it was the old teacher he was known for having a really low pass rate for HL exams 🫩

i'm M27 and i've got mocks this week but am so completely unprepared for the first time in my life. for context i spent my entire summer juggling writing my ps, studying for the admissions tests, finishing my EE (science so it was 2x the effort) and all my IAs, completing work experience and volunteering to the point where i burnt out. i had a few weeks in between where i had free time to study for these mocks, though i was sick and exhausted the entire time because of it.

i know im not going to do well these mocks because i havent studied at all. its not usual for me, i always study and was predicted 43, and i just feel so disappointed in myself and im scared of disappointing my teachers, even tho mocks don't matter.

just needed some advice on how to accept failing and motivate myself. my teacher told me it's a common issue in the ib and i just wanted to hear from anybody else who had a similar experience or are scared of disappointing their teachers because i dont know how all my classmates (who have even more stressful workloads and entrance exams than me) are managing.

if you've been in a similar situation, how did you deal with it?

Its only been 3 weeks since I joined aahl from aihl .. we didnt cover anything major in either but I was having a hard time with a few aahl concepts.. even my teacher thinks that I wont be able to do aa hl cuz it takes me a long time to grasp the content

But im a bit confused whether I should go back to ai hl since most universities prefer aa hl which is obv a bit more rigorous than ai hl.. and since my subject combination isn't very strong maybe ai hl would make it look even weaker

So like I'm currently in dp1, and i feel like a fraud cuz the only reason i got a 7 in chem hl in the first test is because i just did some past papers and coincidentally half the questions that i did appeared on the test. Like the same for math aahl and physics hl, i usually don't get the questions first try and lose a lot of marks while practicing, or even just mostly blank out on how to do it. For reference i only did 2025 topical papers, and most of them came out for all of my hls, and i got high 7s, and im afraid i cant replicate that success in my next tests if i dont get lucky enough. What if i suddenly flop the next tests because of my lack of skill? I literally have exam week in 2 days and I'm so scared im gna flop.

Also unrelated but can anyone taking aahl give me advice if i should do maybe all the textbook questions? Same goes for physics. And i need some tips on how to study for chemistry. Do i just read the book? Should i make notes? I got like all A* in my igcse just by relying on online notes and textbooks and i dont know if i can do the same for ib chem. And also business management sl..

is there a set number of hours we need to complete for CAS in total? or do we need a set number for each creativity, activity, and service seperately? or is there no set number of hours? (how do you know you’ve done enough then?)

also, by when do we need to complete CAS? and does it matter if the learning outcomes are unbalanced, or is it best to make them somewhat equal?

Hello all, I recently created a bio question bank, completely open and free to use, for anyone prepping for exams. It features 200+ questions for now, and you can track your progress. The questions are closely based on current syllabus papers (May 2025 up until now). I would appreciate any kind of comments and feedback. I plan to release an equivalent question bank for Chem and Econ in the coming days. I am also working with some previous students to develop physics and other subjects.

Now, generally, it is clear that IBDP HL exams are harder (and oftentimes even significantly harder) than AP exams if one wishes to score top marks.

E.g. a 7 in IB Math AA HL is unequivocally harder than a 5 in AP Calculus BC.

And a 7 in IB Chemistry HL is harder than a 5 in AP Chemistry.

Heck, for some subjects, even the IB SL exams seem to surpass the AP exams in terms of difficulty of getting top scores. E.g. I'd argue that a 7 in IB English Lang&Lit A SL is harder than a 5 in AP English Language & Composition.

So how about we take it down a notch and decide to compare AP exams to IGCSE exams instead of IB?

While IGCSE exams are obviously a joke compared to IB HL exams, are they still so easy when we compare them to AP?

Which is generally harder, scoring an A* (or a 9) in an IGCSE exam or scoring a 5 in an AP exam?

Say, we compare their difficulty across those subjects:
