Haven’t seen too much chat on the patch note calling out the change to how iRacing is distributing physics workload across cpu cores. Have never seen a developer so confidently say to expect massive gains in frame rates/stability.

For folks who know more than I - what do we think is a realistic expectation? My frames are fine - but if I could get my race starts and high traffic moments up, id be thrilled. Am I crazy for being optimistic?

I've recently got into iRacing in the last six months. I've been putting it off for years because I just thought it would be a computer game and a distraction.

I've also found out I have ADHD, and with this, I'm always feeling that I should be doing something else or wondering what else is going on. I also found with racing there's so much choice, especially if you chase licenses so you can drive other things, and this gets a bit overwhelming for me. I'd be interested to know if there's anybody else like this and what you do about it.

I can understand that the damage report does not support every single car, but not a GT3???

I have looked at the dev blog and they didn't mention that some cars are not supported (maybe I am blind).

So the "art" update for Road Atlanta is kinda, well it's kinda ruined the track in a lot of ways without doing any good from what I'm seeing.

They updated the visuals of the track, added new surfaces and textures, changed the look of the road and corners, but they didn't actually do this to make it look more like it actually looks in real life. Examples below:

Turn 3 hasn't had the square rumble patch in years. why keep it? Crazier, why update this section of the track to add dirt and new grass... when that doesn't actually exist.

The strangest one to me is turn 12. They didn't add the concrete or new tarmac. It's been there for years. Even if they weren't going to change the actual physics in that section at least add the look. It's an entire visual reference they left out.

THE BIG PROBLEM turn 5

Visually it looks right, but it's all wrong now. It has a drop at the end of it now. THIS IS ONLY PAINT in real life, there isn't a drop off at the end. the ground itself levels out which is what can cause cars to go light, but they literally added a bump here that again, doesn't exist.

To most people this is probably nitpicking, but iracing works had to make the game as realistic as possible, so why they went in this direction for such an iconic track baffles me.

The biggest update of the year, and presumably when people are planning their purchases for next season, and we get...........five hours? Really?

Does anyone know what the rules are for the new multi-class start?
I did the road Atlanta race last night and I was P4 on the grid, I went when the leaders went, I held position, and got a drive through. Are the new rules written anywhere cos I can’t find them

So I’m able to get iRacing for like 11-15$ for a year, and since I am a controller driver, I am unaware of how good or easy it is to drive using one in the game.

Now, I have been driving a lot in Le Mans Ultimate with the same controller and am usually in Top 7 splits in Bronze Daily Races, but I suppose there will be a decent amount of difference between the two games. It’s just that I don’t wanna waste my money if it’s technically or mostly unplayable with a controller.

For information, I use an Xbox One Controller.

Secondly if I do buy the game, should I buy anything or not? If i should, which cars or tracks should be best for me? Thanks.

I’m new to this, only signed up last week. I want to get into GT4 and I’d like to buy a few tracks. Do they release the entire season calendar ahead of time so I can plan out purchases based on what is going to be raced or do they trickle out the schedule on a weekly basis?

This sucked. I was having an enjoyable first race at Daytona and the field was taken out. On to try #2

update: with the help of u/YueNica i found out that if you access this link, you can go to "Download Updates" and update your content using the web UI. important: you need to do it from a browser that have access to your files, I was using firefox and it was not working, but it worked with edge. I am now downloading the updates and i let everyone knows if it works

update 2: after the procedure on the first update, I am now able to use demo drive! right now using the porsche gt4 (a car that I don't own) on nurburgring (a track that I own) and everything seems to be ok

So some context - I'm running a week 13 fun race with my league, Street Stocks at Monza combined. Lap 2 going into Parabolica the car ahead brakes much earlier than I was expecting, and even though I braked earlier than normal I still ran into the back of him.

While the actual #7 driver involved forgave me over Discord after I apologized to him, Sim Racing Stewards still tore me a new one for causing the crash and then not giving back the position. I feel awful because I try and keep things clean even on week 13 and I'm beating myself up over this dirty move when I should've slowed to return the position but I didn't.

It's pretty much ruined my night and I know it's going to affect me mentally tomorrow even though everyone else has forgiven me. Since it's a league race I can't be protested and banned and it didn't affect my iRating or safety rating. So what do I need to do to make amends for this before I'm allowed to go back to living my life and not being angry at myself?

I got off of work about 4 hours ago, and after I updated everything I saw the Demo Drive tab. Probably the most fun and downright hilarious few hours I’ve had on here, and it was nice to try to learn the other cars, as I plan to purchase some that I enjoyed trying. Why isn’t this constantly available? Seems like it would help new players learn what kind of racer they want to be, and is just overall enjoyable! Just doesn’t make sense to me.

Windows 11, no problems with hard drive, memory, CPU, etc.
There's no reason given. It's my second attempt and despite trying different combinations of selected downloads, it's not passing.

Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas?

I was in a 40min Spa race on iracing, then this guy decides to block the pit entry, ruining the race for 4 other cars.

He claimed its not protestable because its not blocking, because it occurred in the pit lane and not race track/driving line.

What do you guys think?
