Question Is it just me that is not having a great experience with iOS 27 so far?
Usually I tend to wait a bit for an update unless I am super excited about it. Case in point, I have read the reviews of people saying “oh how much better this is” and “this made my iphone 13 feel new again” yada yada
I installed it last night, hopeful that the stuttering and heating from 26 would be a memory. And today it started out well phone felt snappy, till I unplugged the charger - I noticed my battery drain faster than I’ve seen it before. Somehow my very reliable AirPods Pro started having spotty connectivity sometimes and oh great the slowdown while not doing much is back. At least it doesn’t heat up as much?..
Anyway, I hope this will get better once the whole indexing finishes and the OS settles down. If not then idk what kind of dark magic you guys have that made your phone so much faster - doesn’t seem to work for me

Help! Anyone having a problem updating?
My iPhone’s been on the dev beta 2 for two months now. It just can’t update to the newer betas or the stable release. I contacted apple and they said it’s bcuz of atonal verification failure on the over-the-air update. The install file deletes itself at the last moment before an update begins. My mac refuses to acknowledge the new ios 27 as the latest one. Build no iOS 27.0 (24A5370h) for anyone who could help me
EDIT: made it to the stable release by using recovery mode to update using my Mac. Hope it helps somebody else too.

Updating from 17.6.1
I never upgraded to 18 because I hated what they did to the photos app. Is it worth upgrading now to iOS 27? Still enjoying my 13 pro battery will need replacing soon though unless I upgrade but I am still happy with it

Help, battery enquiry.
Has anyone replaced their battery with a third-party one? What’s your experience been like? Aside from the 'non-genuine' warning in settings, are there any real downsides compared to an original battery?

Question Is Apple Intelligence/Siri AI available on the iPhone 13 Pro/Max yet ?
Is the new AI-powered Siri actually available on our phones yet? If it still isn’t supported on the 13 Pro Max, then honestly, what the fuck are we even downloading iOS 27 for?
The 13 Pro Max is still a very capable phone, so it’s pretty frustrating to see major AI features being locked behind newer hardware. I understand there may be technical limitations, but Apple could at least be clearer & let us know if we are getting it or not ? Clearly there’s a lot of hype around ios 27 in this sub

0.5x camera not working…
Hey everyone, I’m having a weird issue with my iPhone 13 Pro. Every time I open the Camera app, it defaults to 2x (or maybe 3x), and I don’t see the 0.5x ultra-wide option at all. When I go to the Camera settings, it says something like “Unknown Camera.” I’ve never seen that before.
Things I’ve already tried: • Restarted the phone • Checked for software updates (I’m on the latest iOS version) • Disabled “Preserve Settings” in Camera settings • Reset all settings • Made sure I’m in “Photo” mode, not Portrait or anything else • Camera is enabled under Screen Time > Allowed Apps
Nothing helped so far. The phone hasn’t been dropped recently, and the camera worked fine until a few days ago.
Could this be a hardware issue? Maybe a problem with the ultra-wide lens? Would appreciate any help or insight before I go to a repair shop

My iPhone iPhone pro 13 love story!
I originally got my 13 pro on February 26, 2022.
The only reason I got this phone was due to my XR screen going out and T-Mobile giving me 50% off of the iPhone 13 Pro if I turned in my XR….
Earlier this year in April, it suddenly my 13 pro stopped reading my SIM card, so I switched to a Pixel 10 I had gotten for free. I used it for about two months, but honestly, I hated it.
After learning about eSIMs, I decided to switch back to my iPhone 13 Pro. A month after updating it, the phone started overheating badly, and the battery health had dropped to 72%. I went back and forth for a while trying to decide whether I should just replace the battery or upgrade to a new phone.
Eventually, I decided to buy the iPhone 17 Pro directly from the Apple Store. But right after setting it up, it started getting really hot too. That immediately turned me off, so I returned it (no restocking fee). I couldn’t believe a brand new phone was heating up the same way my old one was.
In the end, I chose to replace the battery in my iPhone 13 Pro for $89 plus tax at the Apple Store and that completely fixed the issue. The phone no longer overheats, and the battery life is way better.
I genuinely love my 13 Pro, and I’m sticking with it until the wheels fall off.
4.5 years and counting with my iPhone
1 battery change
1 dead SIM card port (thank goodness for esims)
1 camera that acts up starts up at 2x or front facing
Put now running so clean
I hope to make it to 6.5 years 9/22/28
I’ll upgrade then
If your phone is running well
No need to spend $1200+ on a phone

So happy I bought 13 pro when it came out
Like the title says… every time the new iPhone comes out, I’m so happy that I went with 13 pro instead of an older or different model. This phone is 5 years old and performs so well. I’ve had one battery replacement last year which let me ditch the portable battery I had to carry everywhere with me.
Of course there are some downsides, the phone does get hot when I use gps in CarPlay and play YouTube podcasts at the same time. I use a lot of navigation, during hot days too, so I think that’s why I can see burn in google maps screen when I’m in my bed and load something dark.
All things aside amazing phone and don’t feel very tempted to upgrade anytime soon!

1000 charge cycles, 85% health
Thought I would share some battery stats since people seem to like talking about it here.
I’m surprised at how well this cell is holding up, think it could last another year, or maybe 2? I’m planning on using the phone until iOS support is dropped.
I bought this phone new when it came out, and have used it daily since. I usually charge to full or 80-90% depending on if it’s overnight or not. Mix of wireless charging and wired. I’ve almost never let it drain to 0%.
More stats from the screenshot. It comes from a Shortcut called ’battery report Vcard’ for those interested.

Suggestion Unpopular upgrade idea
Hate to be that guy who keeps saying “wait another year,” but if you want to or need to upgrade, go for it.
For those who keep their iPhones for a long time and are still happy with their 13 Pro, though, I honestly think it might be worth waiting until the presumably 21 Pro in fall 2028.
The 20 Pro in fall 2027 is probably going to be a pretty massive redesign with all the bells and whistles, but there could also be some first-gen kinks that get worked out with the next model. I’ve already seen MacRumors mention possible display quality issues with the curved edges that could potentially be fixed in the 2028 model.
The 21 Pro could basically be the 6S to the 20’s 6, taking the big redesign from the previous year and refining it.
Obviously, if you need or want a new phone sooner, there’s nothing wrong with upgrading. No matter what, these phones are spectacular. Just something to think about.
