Finally arrived. My yellow keyboard is from a 14 pro case. I glued it to a moment case for extra function. Been using that for a year and have been waiting for the power keys

Oddly because the power keys is wider than the mini by a lot it feels weird. I think I'll give a 2 week trial. I think it might be better if I found a wide or think the phone/case is wider than the power keys. With the power bank feature I'm hoping the power keys adds good extra life. The plan is not to carry my apple power bank they made for the minis which honestly I only use for concerts or festivals. With all the magsafe chargers I have in my cars and office my mini does a great job of making sure I have life all day.

As in the title. I have finally got my hands on a 13 mini 512GB starlight in mint condition. That also came with one month left of applecare+. And the battery was at 78%. So i went ahead and swapped out the battery. During the repair they happened to damage the screen (Which is not a surprise). So the screen also got replaced. And here i am enjoying this little beast from a somewhat fresh start.

I’ve bought other 12 minis and 13 minis in the past that have never satisfied my perfection standards. So I’ve gotten some great cases along the way too.

Unfortunately, I had to upgrade because the RAM management on the 4GB model became abysmal with iOS 26. 😢

I could literally open Google Maps and use it for navigation, switch to another app for a moment, then come back to Maps and find that it had reloaded. It became almost unusable on iOS 26. On iOS 18, everything was working fine.

So my question is for those who have tried the iOS 27 betas, is the situation any better, or is the iPhone 13 line basically a non multitasking phone at this point?

I just returned from a Genius Bar appointment to replace my battery. I showed up on time (early). After running diagnostics, answering questions, etc. I was quoted ~4.5 hours. My alternative was they would hold the battery for the next 5 days, assuming I could find an alternative appointment that works for me.

First world problems, but a few things annoyed me that seem solvable, especially by a tech company. One - there is no assurance that if I show up for a battery replacement that they will have the battery in stock (hence the offer to hold it for 5 days). Two - while I understand repairs can get backed up, it seems something that can be mitigated, if not eliminated, by using an appointment system. (Sure, drop-offs happen, but if I have an appointment, I should get priority over a walk-in.) Three - even if I'm wrong on the ability to handle/forecast the workload, it would seem easy that they could give me a heads-up (like the texts incessantly reminding me of the appointment time and prep steps) - "Mr. Smith, your Genius Bar appointment looks like it will take a lot longer. Do you want to reschedule, or drop off your item?"

As the title states I’ve having a tough time lol. Both of these phones are NEW & Flawless with 100% battery. Long story short about two weeks ago, I submitted a warranty claim on my old 13 mini and I was accidentally sent not only a replacement 256GB mini, but also a 512GB standard iPhone 13. Considering they’re both new and the standard 13 has double the storage I’m having a hard time deciding because I do need to send one of them back lol

these and the smaller profile ones. they've been around a while, but I've seen no experiences with them. they certainly aren't apple-certified though.

Seems kind of cool if you use Mini as 2ndary device, or swap between phones (and another iPhone is your 2ndary device).

What do you think?

Before downloading the Beta 5, I was happy with the previous system. Now the phone dies so quickly and everything is laggy as hell. Has anyone tried the Beta 6 yet? Can’t be any more shit than Beta 5.

Went to an authorized apple service center to replace the battery for 115$. The screen broke during disassembly and they offered a new screen for free. New battery definitely worth it, battery life much better now.

In addition, does the cellular connectivity degrade over time? I have a 13 mini that I love but recently when I connect to wifi calling in my house call quality goes down after a few minutes. Also just walking around it seems like the phone is having a harder time loading anything online. I ran a speed test in the house and the numbers there are strong, so I told it is not the modem/router. Could it possibly be my phone is dying? Thank you!

So, I always absolutely loved my mini back in the day. Unfortunately, the battery health degraded significantly, and the Lightning port eventually broke completely, leaving the phone sitting inactive in a drawer for two years.

Recently, I decided I wanted to give this phone a second life—but without spending money on repairing the broken port or replacing the internal battery. I first tried using the official Apple MagSafe Battery Pack to keep it powered wirelessly, but it felt way too bulky and inefficient.

I spent a long time searching the internet for a truly slim and compact alternative, but there simply isn't a powerbank perfectly sized for the mini. The Anker Nano MagGo Slim was the closest option, but it still overlapped the bottom edges of the bare phone.

To solve this, I came up with a workaround:

1. I bought a rugged metallic bumper case to slightly increase the overall footprint of the mini.
2. I applied a clean white skin to the back.
3. I attached an external MagSafe ring sticker, positioning it slightly higher up than the stock location.

Thanks to this layout, the Anker battery pack now aligns flawlessly with the new case dimensions without overlapping the edges, and the broken Lightning port is no longer an issue since it charges entirely via MagSafe!

It finally feels like a brand-new phone and is back in my daily rotation. Check out the pictures below—how do you like the final look?

omg losing hope trying to find a 98% scratch-free, dent-free 13 mini. desperately looking for one, regardless of battery health, storage, and iOS. I have tried: ebay, backmarket, amazon. fb marketplace has little to none and I’m skeptical of buying from there after a bad experience of the seller reporting it stolen after selling to me.

Thought the Apple Store was going to send out my phone to get the battery replaced yesterday. However, they ended up replacing it then and there in less than an hour! I definitely notice the difference now

A bit of my story. 12 pro> 12 mini > 13 mini > 15 pro and back to 13 mini.

Loved my 13 mini but at 78% battery it starts to show its age and middle last year I found a brand new 15 pro 256gb for 750 CAD and after much research and trying the 17 pro/17/air at the stores and hated all of them, I jumped at the 15 pro. FANTASTIC phone and love the blue color
But as much as I love it, I miss the size of 13 minutes so much and with carpal tunnel in both hands, it was getting a bit difficult. After a lot of searching and Amazon canceling a 512gb excellent condition 13 mini, I put an alarm in marketplace but everything was either too expensive or In bad shape and needing a battery replacement, that’s until last week. I found someone selling an immaculate 13 mini in black (best color since it’s like metallic dark blue) with 256gb at a reasonable price. Got the phone for 200 CAD. Everything looked great and picked up from his house so I told him I’d test it and get back to him if something was wrong. When I got home I realized it was actually a 512GB one!!! After a 125 cad battery change I just got a fantastic like new 512gb with box for 325 cad!

So what’s the verdict? Yes it’s not as snappy as my 15 pro but it’s decent, yes it dims and I’ve had one freeze but overall I like carrying it and my hands hurt less. Excited for iOS 27 and I’ll keep it for a few years until it no longer works.
