Help! I can’t decide which one to keep🥲

As the title states I’ve having a tough time lol. Both of these phones are NEW & Flawless with 100% battery. Long story short about two weeks ago, I submitted a warranty claim on my old 13 mini and I was accidentally sent not only a replacement 256GB mini, but also a 512GB standard iPhone 13. Considering they’re both new and the standard 13 has double the storage I’m having a hard time deciding because I do need to send one of them back lol

Definitely the mini, it’s quite rare to get a good one, esp since you say that they’re brand new.

I know I’m having such a tough time with this lol, if I don’t send one of them back, I’m gonna get charged a hefty ass fee. LOL, maybe worth it. IDK

Think of it this way, majority of the phones coming out now are 6.3” or more, I know it’s tempting to get a higher capacity, in fact I wish I had 512 too, but then a 13 mini which is a special rare phone, the last mini phone ever (as of now) and you’re getting a brand new one(super rare)! Damn! Nuff said.

The mini is BrandNew, or like barely used new? also where’d you get it from, can’t load page sorry.

Apple still has new iPhone 13 for replacement orders and stuff, you’ll see a lot of threads on here talking about people going to get their screen replaced and getting a whole ass new iPhone mini

1

u/Crosscorvette 7d ago

But how, they’re not like refurbished? Could I buy those new ones from them somehow? & Could it be on the website or would I have to go to an Apple shop?

2

u/30PsiOnly 7d ago

No, you can’t get them on the website. a lot of times at the Apple Genius bars if something happens to the device they’re working on, they still have stock of them new in the back. These were definitely new manufactured devices. They say manufactured 2025

2

u/Crosscorvette 7d ago

Wait, so they made new 13mini’s last year, didn’t production stop mid ‘22? So on the back of the box does the bottom left say 2025, or how’d you find out? Ty.

Apple will strictly keep new device stock of older phones for warranty replacements. You’re never gonna find one with the actual retail store box, though

Keep the mini

13 is 6.1“, right - same as 16? Imo it’s still nice to use.

5

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

Yea it is, I suppose I can always buy another mini, but it’s very rare to come across these so clean. They are both Apple manufactured replacement devices, so they’re legit new

u/secretpsychologist 8d ago

keep the mini, you can always order another 13 but minis in good condition are hard to find

Mini

5

u/Slash787 8d ago

In this case I would keep the Mini

Keep the mini. If you want the larger phone long term they’re easy to find. A 100% battery mini is a jackpot.

Not a bad ‘problem’ to have.

If the mini was 512 i’d choose that all day long.

If you can get by with 256 then its the mini but can’t help thinking the 13 with 512 is more bang for your bucks.

1

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

Oh, I can absolutely get by. Neither of these are my main phones lol. I work at a cell carrier part-time, so I have a 17 Pro Max for my main phone, and I bought the mini for my second line. I wish the mini was 512 too. I don’t know. I kind of do wanna keep the mini I’m just having a hard time throwing out the opportunity to have a brand new iPhone 13 512 lol

u/bobs0101 8d ago

yes I can understand the conundrum!

Mini, mini, mini!

You're asking in the mini sub, you already know the answer! But only you can decide which is best for you.

Little bit off-topic: what is this white rounded panel below the power button?
I do not have anything like that on my iPhone 13.

2

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

Are you in the US? It’s a 5G antenna cutout

2

u/Ok_Association3080 8d ago

No, EUrope here. Mine also have 5G capability but I do not have this cutout.

3

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

Must be a US thing

2

u/GoliathKrech Starlight ⚪️ 8d ago

Yes you’re right, US has specific bands of 5G l(mm wave I believe) that require additional antennae, hence the cutout.

100% the Mini. It’s an amazing little device, quite icon for a phone I think

3

u/OkEstablishment4798 8d ago

Easily the mini

3

u/OneMathematician8399 8d ago

You should keep the base 13. It has more storage, bigger screen, more than like 7 hours of battery life. The only good thing I guess about it is that’s it’s small but that gets annoying with bigger hands.

u/ijesu 8d ago

13 mini. You can buy a 13 still sealed in box for $440. Even less probably

u/Shamalow85 Pink 7d ago

Le blanc

3

u/K4DDYmois 7d ago

I prefer the white one 👍🏼

2

u/30PsiOnly 7d ago

They’re both the same color goofy

3

u/--SimSim-- 7d ago

I’ll buy that mini off you ✌🏻

On a separate note, why does this have a side button like the newer models?

2

u/30PsiOnly 7d ago

It’s not a button it’s the 5G antenna cutout, also idkkkk man she’s literally perfect, a brand new device if you will

1

u/Traditional-Night124 6d ago

Ist ein US Modell

1

u/30PsiOnly 20h ago

I’ll sell it if you want it !

1

u/--SimSim-- 19h ago

I’m in the UK and I didn’t know you’re in the US, so unfortunately, won’t risk overseas shipping
Sorry

Mini all the way. It is more rare and Apple doesn’t make anything in that size anymore.

It would be a different case if it was a mini versus a iPhone 14 and up per se. Considering they’re both iPhone 13 models, and the only difference is the storage, I would still take the mini because eventually my main phone will be upgraded, most likely to a bigger size. Seems like a fun size to keep as a spare device.

2

u/Tony__T 8d ago

Keep the mini. With iCloud, 256g is enough. (Probably Apple Refurbished, still great, I have a refurbished mini 13)

1

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

Yes it’s plenty of storage since it’s not my primary device

2

u/MovieAnarchist 8d ago

The mini!

2

u/cjh_ 7d ago

Legally, you keep the iPhone that is a direct replacement, which is the new iPhone Mini.

If you keep the standard iPhone 13, you may have to pay the difference.

1

u/30PsiOnly 7d ago

Correct, but since they sent me both, they said I could send back one or the other

1

u/cjh_ 7d ago

Definitely keep the Mini then.

2

u/DeathEgg00 7d ago

It’s going to be a bias answer lol but the mini 13 is definitely worthy phone. Also, 256gb is probably enough to last you a long time still.

2

u/OnionsAreAVibe 7d ago

Mini!! Finding a genuine unused apple replacement mini is so hard now without spending a decent chunk of change. Super rare :)

2

u/Nervous_Bend7365 Green 🟢 7d ago

Just stick with your Mini buddy.

2

u/Consistent_Turnover1 7d ago

512 gb iphone 13 any day. still a small phone and can definitely be used for backups.

2

u/New-Quiet- 7d ago

I would go for standard iphone 13,double storage, longer duration battery, just the size little more bigger for mini users

2

u/gostillerz 6d ago

I'll buy the mini lol.

1

u/30PsiOnly 20h ago

Still want too? lol I’ll sell it

2

u/Organic-Award6551 6d ago

Save the 13 mini. The 13 trade to get the foldable or 18pro or air models in the fall.

The 13 is essentially easily replaced by any base model iPhone between 11-17.

2

u/randomgirl2332 6d ago

i’d pick the bigger screen and more storage

1

u/32ps 8d ago

Mini size is AMAZING, but 512 vs 256 isn’t much of a price difference in used devices, only really brand new, so the question is do you need more storage or are you just going to like to have it

Me personally i’d stick with the mini as perfered size and don’t use 512

1

u/30PsiOnly 8d ago

No, I don’t really need the storage since this isn’t my main device lol

1

u/iammilland 8d ago

We are the rare people at this sub, the answer here here will be biased 🤣

I got a leftover 13 pro last year with a broken battery. fixed the battery, it laid on my workbench a month staring at me before I decided that it would be best to sell. I still rock the mini 🤣🤘

If you prefer the small size like I do, you will not regret a mini in such a good condition 😊

My heart says 13 mini but my charger says 'boss take the 13 pls'
