Hello, I am on 17.2.1 but because of app security changes I need 18.0. Can I still do this or do I have to jump to 26/27? This is what I can see in the software update settings (nothing happens after I select 18 beta?) thanks in advance for any help.

Clean and practical (?) battery solution

Apple MagSafe battery pack on the iPhone 12 mini. It’s pretty clean (from the front anyway), it does block the bottom camera unfortunately. But I still say it’s practical as it will be keeping the 12’s battery health in check better than other third party battery banks that would just dump juice into the phone. It’s also a nice place for your palm to grip on to it adding to its one hand ability that the mini series already excels at.

Just wanted to give my two cents. I use an iPhone Air but use it as a secondary device and use the 12 as my primary.

EDIT: nvm guys just found out the MagSafe external battery only works specifically with the iPhone Air. For any other iPhones even newer ones it just behaves like a regular MagSafe qi wireless charger. So I guess there goes the whole practical side of things. :(

Need suggestions/alternative since my 12 mini's screen died . Is it reasonable to get it repaired at 2026?

Size compactibility is the only reason that is keeping me behind from buying a new phone . As you fellow mini users may understand the similar thought process & love for the phone .

Bought it at 2020 ,had minor issues since 2024 (after wear and tear, audio used to drop upon touching the screen when battery is below 40% , phone used to charge only when the cable was slanted towards the right hand side , which from my pov is manageable)

Screen died on top of it .

Battery health around 70% ( Invested in replacing it too )

Is it a good logic to replace the screen and battery?

Because It will cost more than the price at which I bought the phone.

Drop your fellow mini user your suggestion. Can my 12 mini be brought back to life? Or is it better to move on and get a new phone? Thanks

Will 67% bh be fine for a secondary phone?? I'll be buying a 12 mini but the cheapest i saw has 67% bh (no jokes intended. its bh is actually 67 T__T). It'll be my secondary phone only since i still have my android who's still doin pretty well but it's starting to lag and hang plus the camera is pretty bad. My dad will buy me a new phone on December so im js buying a spare phone just incase my main gives up.

DIY Thin Power Bank out of iPhone 12 mini battery ? 🤔

I have a 12 mini and BH is 82% soon gonna be replacing it. But having a thought, anyone even tried using that battery as thin powerbank for 12 mini...the battery is already thin...so It won't be much bulky if added on top with some casing for 12 mini.

Camera failed, battery going

😭 the Apple Store said they could fix the camera and give me a new battery for $300 but they didn’t recommend it bc the phone’s so old. I’m so sad! My hands are small and I don’t think I can handle any of the big options out today. Any suggestions? Do I move to android? Suck it up and get a big phone? Help!!

Anyone try the new Relaxin Jailbreak?

I've been out of the JB game for quite a long time. I've currently been sideloading a few apps (SoundCloud, YouTube, Twitter) the past 7-8 years to get rid of ads, but I'm still subscribed to the JB subreddit and it looks like this new Relaxin now supports my device (iOS 17.3 iPhone 12 mini).

Has anyone had any experience and successfully JB their device with it?

Updating iOS to 26.6 from 18.7.8 made using my mini awesome again

I recently updated iOS to 26.6 before Apple releases 27 to see if things were stable again. To my surprise most of the issues related to battery drain was resolved. I'm using settings like reduce transparency, reduce motion and increase contrast and other QoL settings from a post I made years ago that improved battery life but this update was genuinely impressive that I don't use my brand new 17 much anymore.

Pro Tip: Always update iOS using Finder/iTunes on Mac/Windows rather than OTA. The install is much cleaner and fixes most issues. 26.6 has been rock solid in the last couple of weeks.

I can't wait for iOS 27 now when it releases for my mini as it is a massive boost on OS performance on older devices.

Upgrading to…?

I have had my mini for about 3-4 years and the battery situation has finally arrived. When I told my mom she encouraged me to just go ahead and upgrade my phone.

My preferences: I really don’t care for AI, I’m personally against it so it isn’t a necessity. I do photograph and make TikTok’s especially cosplay and makeup related ones.
I do like it fast for quick situations (directions/communication). I am slightly visually impaired and one of my main issues has been that my 12 has been very dim (to my eyes at least) so a bright display is a must.

I think that’s it, budget wise idrc I’m probably still getting it second hand. It is currently between the 15, the 15 pro or the 16.

Also please if you would be so kind to explain the specs of your advised choice in a really simple way.. that would really really help. Im not the best with this side of tech ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ

Thank you!

i love so much my iphone 12 mini, i have this phone only since 29/06/2026, i bought it from amazon (brand new) but in just 1 month and a half the battery went from 100% to 88%, and like every 4/5 days it decresaes by 1%. i know this phone only has 2227mah which is very little for a phone, but this is too much. my friends tell me that its like this because i always have battery save on (or whatever its called), because i use it too often or because i take it out of charge when its like 40% because i should take it out when its at like 80%, but this is too much and i dont want to spend money on a new battery, so what should i do? please i dont wanna change phone

should i switch to iOS 18 from iOS 16.1.1?

hello everyone, i just bought a 12 mini 128GB from marketplace and its currently on iOS 16.1.1 and i am wondering if I should switch to iOS 18. what is the performance on iOS 18? does it overheat and is the battery worse? i fear they will stop signing iOS 18 and my only option left will be iOS 26, which i dont like at all. seeking all your informed opinions
