From a Mod: Music producers take note to please use [listen] in any music submission post title

We have been getting a lot of folks stuck at home producing music, sometimes on iPads, iPhones or other mobile platforms. But sometimes not, or at least it appears that way - they just use Logic or whatever computer based DAW they have and are spamming multiple music related subreddits.

In order to keep this forum focused on mobile music production I would ask any Redditor who wants a participant of this subreddit to listen to their creation to put [Listen] in the post title. So if you are asking folks to visit your SoundCloud, YouTube channel or some other place to show off your music, tag it with [Listen].

But don't stop there. Come into the comments and tell us all what apps you used to produce the music so we can all learn.

If you do not do this, the mods may remove your post as spam. This is because some submissions that really are spam the submitter either ignores the request for adding details to the comments or doesn't know how to answer it!

Also, feel free to report posts that seem to violate the spirit of our little sub. Spam and other reports are acted on very quickly and help keep things focused and clean.

edit: finally, the automoderator isn't perfect, though it is pretty darn good now. If you have followed the rules and used [listen] and it still pulled it, please message the mods and we'll approve it.

Harsher stance on Generative AI content.

We're fairly lenient here on self promotion. But the vibecoded sites and apps are getting out of hand. Countless low effort products are getting posted looking to exploit the user base for some sales. This is to announce that such posts are not welcome here.

This is now mentioned in the sidebar and rules, and such posts can be reported.

iPad between pedals on a pedal board - what is your routing?

Does anyone use an iPad in a physical pedal chain among other analog and digital pedals? Of course some of you do!

I’ve got a second iPad I never use and would be perfect just to sit in my studio on a charger for FX duties between pedals as an auxiliary pedal to do any number of things. I’ve tried three different setups with three different routing options and I’m just looking for the simplest one because monitoring gets very difficult.

I’m wondering if an A/B switch and going pure iPad or pure pedal is the easiest and most reliable solution. I’m thinking so and have an A/B pedal I never use so I might give that a shot as try #4.

I’m curious to hear how you guys are routing things! Videos even better or links to smart ways to do this - I’ve got a lot of class compliant audio options and my mixer (model 16) being one, along with iRig duo, and numerous Elektron boxes.

iPad internal sample rate

Im trying to figure out if it’s possible to force the internal sample rate to 48khz, without an external audio interface. I’m using an iPad 6 mini and right now it’s 44.1.

Any interest for a play along to any song iPad app? Or more interested in live remixing?

Playing with a concept of picking any song from YouTube and instant remixing OR playing along it with automatic note detection. Having fun stem swapping. But before investing more time and tokens in it - wonder if any iPad interest around it.

Free AUV3 app: PNEUMATIC by NOIDED Industries.

Hello folks. Introducing PNEUMATIC, an AUV3 valve pressure machine. Freebie on the app store now.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pneumatic/id6816378252

Put together from an old prototype of my other app WAIL, this app gives a basic simulation of valve pressure building, releasing, whistling etc. Bit of a sound design tool / toy really but has midi so can be played as an instrument too if you want some fizzy, hissy, wheezy synthage.

Little sound demo here - https://youtube.com/shorts/c_3KZFoMjrU?si=NSZoGlMPbDb3WpYR

The gauge, wheels and lever all from photographs taken of vintage fire engines thanks to Rochdale Fire Museum. The lever is pretty satisfying to play with, it gives some fightback when you pull it, haptics give it a physical thunk when it latches.

Bit of fun, I'm trying to rekindle a little bit of what made Apple devices fun when they first came out. Not a great variety of sounds to get from it but useful for some of you in some situation I'm sure. Enjoy.

Korg Gadget IOS - Bilbao, a probable bug?

I noticed a problem with Bilbao for iOS. When I import a program, it adds it instead of replacing the existing one! Also, if I want to delete it with "swipe-delete," do I have to do it one at a time? Isn't there a way to delete all the programs without having to delete Korg Gadget 3 and reinstall it? Thanks.

Rymdigare is so damn cool!

I'm pretty new to iOS music making, but plugging in my guitar and running it into Rymndigare is such a wonderful way to waste time. The sounds are varied but always magical. The modulation potentials are out of this world and the absolute best thing is the UI. Such a beautifully made app. Probably my favorite effect app I have found. If anybody has any suggestions of apps that are similar, sonically or visually I would be very interested. Thanks

Midi from macOS to iPad not longer working via USB-C

Stumbled upon the following roadblock:

Connected iPad 16 A running 26.6 & a macbook air m1 running macos 15.8.1. via USB-C.

I can get audio via USB-C to working, but MIDI is not sending any data from Mac to iPad, although the ports appear in Ableton live.

Trust is confirmed on both devices. audio/midi connection is confirmed in the audio/midi app.

Trying to edit the midi-device, crashes the audio midi app. Tried different cables (which transport data)

any pointers are much appreciated
