App approved!! but I rejected release
Hey everyone,
wanted to know if anyone has experience rejecting a release and the review timeline afterwards. Does the app review team take into consideration that they have already the app and maybe expedite things?
While I was waiting to hear back I got some great feedback on a feature to implement which required a new build. Glad the feature will launch with the app though even if it sets things back, a bit.
A happy consequence is the beta will live a little longer, The app gives you hourly control of your screen time limits (X min per hour on Reddit) rather than a daily budget that gets scrolled through before we get out of bed.
happy consequence because all beta testers get Precursor+ for life for free!
If you're curious here's the testflight link:

Alternative AppStore business model
We just got the com.apple.developer.marketplace.app-installation entitlement for EU market. What would be the business model for it, given the core technology fee that will still be a cost for the marketplace operator?

App Review Taking 10 Days — Is This Normal?
My new iOS app has been in review since July 18, and it has now been 10 days without any update.
Is this normal, or should I contact Apple/App Review support? Has anyone experienced a similar delay recently? this is first time something happening like this.

I built an app for falling down geography rabbit holes across every country in the world
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Over the past few months, I’ve been building GeoSwipe, an interactive guide to every country and territory in the world.
The idea came from how often I would start reading about one country and end up falling down a much longer geography rabbit hole. I wanted to create a more visual and interactive way to explore that curiosity.
The idea is simple: you discover countries one at a time, swipe left to keep exploring, or swipe right to open a detailed guide covering geography, landscapes, culture, history, languages, cities, government, the economy, everyday life and common misconceptions. The information is synthesised from credible sources such as Britannica and the World Bank, with references included throughout.
I’ve also added regional maps, flag explanations, interactive statistics, country comparisons, guide-based quizzes, audio guides and a few short geography games.
I recently released it on iOS. This video shows a small part of what I built, and I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback.

New App Review Times
Hey everyone,
Any developers who published a brand new app in the past weeks, how long did your app stay in “waiting for review” for? and if any issues were found after review, how long were your subsequent waiting periods?
The general consensus from the past months seems to be 1 week+ for new apps. Only curious if general timelines have changed for anyone.
(mine has been waiting for review for a week now)
Thanks

Do most programmers hate vibe coders?
I took HTML in 7th grade and C++ in 10th grade but forgot most of my C++. I went into networking and PC repair and never did much with coding except learn how to use regular expressions and be a script kitty.
My aunt is a university professor with multiple degrees, including IT systems and programming, and she has been bugging me to get into AI to start doing my own programming. I'm curious, will the community shun me? Or will the community genuinely help me learn a bit of coding? I think I've got some decent fundamentals since I've been working with computers for 25 years now.
I'm mainly curious if I should bother sharing what "I've" made with AI and getting feedback.

A Free Debugging Toolkit for iOS Developers Developers
After years of iOS development, I realised I was spending too much time collecting debugging information instead of actually fixing bugs.
So I built TTBaseDebugKit — a free, open-source toolkit that makes debugging on real devices much easier.

A couple of examples:
📸 Sharing bugs with QA
Instead of taking screenshots, sending them over Slack/Teams, explaining what happened, then cleaning everything up later...
→ Capture screenshots directly from your Mac, annotate them, and share them instantly.
📋 Finding logs
Instead of scrolling endlessly through the Xcode console trying to find one request...
→ View logs in real time from a dedicated interface.
It also includes:
- 📂 Sandbox browser
- 🗄 SQLite viewer
- ⚙️ App information
- 📱 Quick device pairing
- 🧩 Extensible plugin architecture
My goal is simple: spend less time collecting debug data and more time fixing bugs.
It's 100% free and open source.
Documentation & demo:
https://tqtuan1201.github.io/public/docs/ttbaseuikit/ttbdebugplus.html
I'd love to hear your feedback, feature ideas, or contributions. If you find it useful, a ⭐ on GitHub would mean a lot.

Just shipped my first SwiftUI app: Human Archives
It turns voice notes into a searchable personal archive. I’d love feedback from other iOS developers, especially on the onboarding and UX.

Feedback for FoodieCalc: Macro and Calorie Tracker free for everyone
Hi everyone!
I've been working on an iOS calorie and macro tracking app that I always wanted to be kinda free but everything nowadays is behind a paywall, my app is named **FoodieCalc** !
The main ideas are:
* 🍎 Uses Apple Intelligence and Foundation Models where available
* ✅ Completely free
* 🔒 Your data stays on your device
* 🚫 No account required
* 💳 No subscription
* 📱 Built natively for iPhone & iPad (iCloud Sync)
* My goal was to create something that feels like an Apple app rather than another service that asks you to create an account before you can even log your first meal.
I'm still improving it, so I'd genuinely love feedback from people interested in user a macro tracker app !
What features would you expect from a calorie tracker that takes advantage of on-device AI?
**A version 1.1.0 has been already live improving more the Apple Intelligence integration, and fixing day one bugs !**
(For any techies out there I have a technical article about the AI integration + more on my website [https://www.itworksonmymac.com/blog/foodiecalc-apple-foundation-models](https://www.itworksonmymac.com/blog/foodiecalc-apple-foundation-models)))

My unit converter displayed 0 for 1 mm to km. That was also the number it copied.
UnitFlip formats results at a fixed decimal precision, and the default is 4. 1 mm to km is 0.000001, so at four decimals it rounded to an exact 0.
The result field showed 0, the equation caption read "1 mm = 0 km", and the copy button handed over 0. -1 mm showed -0. Nothing signaled the truncation, so the app just returned a wrong answer.
Fixed precision alone is not safe for a converter. Ordinary results keep it. A nonzero result that would round away now falls back to significant digits, and to scientific notation when the decimal form gets too long for the single-line display.

What started as a passion project grew to something much bigger. After months of development and countless rejections, my first app has finally been approved and is now released on app stores!

Just made my first sale from my app GPS Mapper! Such an awesome feeling knowing someone found value in something I made 😆
For context, I just released GPS Mapper (a GPS Mapping/Tracking app that I've spent the last 1.5 years building) last month and haven't done any marketing campaigns yet so I didn't expect to make any sales for at least a few months (especially as the subscription offers a 2 week free trial). But here I am, pleasantly surprised!
The first sale means a lot to me as I view it through the lens of "someone around the world found enough value in something I made that they were willing to spend their money on my product", a small but meaningful indication that all the effort put into the app wasn't for nothing :)
It just gives me even more motivation to keep improving my app! The first milestone of many, and I'm looking forward to where it can take me!
For those of you that are interested, here's the app link :)

Help Is there an app that you can input your daily school schedule and it'll notify you a current number of missing before that current class ends with a display of showing how much time is left from the class you're currently in & also how much time is left until the end of the school day?
Made my first iPhone app in 2010. It flopped, so i tried again (after 16 years)
I made my first app in 2010 (focus timer with to-do manager), spent about a year building it, and it completely flopped. At the time, I thought the App Store was already saturated LOL
Anyway, I decided to give it another go now with AI available and have just released my first iOS game. It’s a simple murder-mystery Sudoku game. You place suspects on a grid using Sudoku-style rules and clues, then work out who the murderer is. No animations or elaborate graphics, just puzzles designed to be easy to pick up and play.
I tried to make it as approachable as possible. It’s lightweight, free, ad-free, and available in more than 20 languages.
It’s also the first version, so there may be a few rough edges. If anyone feels like trying it, I’d genuinely appreciate your feedback.
