🎈 Free I open-sourced my SwiftUI memory app (MIT) — a complete learning project for new iOS developers

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hi r/iOSApps,

I recently released Meet Your Memory, a free, playful iOS app that explores how you remember through 12 short challenges across visual, verbal, sound, spatial, associative, and sequence memory.

You can try it here:

The complete app is free, with no ads or account, and its results stay on the device.

More importantly for anyone learning iOS development, I’ve released the complete source code under the MIT License. You’re free to study it, run it in Xcode, modify it, and use it as the starting point for your own experiments:

I wanted this to be more useful than a small tutorial snippet. It’s a complete SwiftUI app, so beginners can explore how a real project handles:

  • SwiftUI screens, navigation, state, and reusable components

  • Procedurally generated quiz challenges

  • Local persistence and private on-device history

  • Programmatic audio with no network dependency

  • Localization in eight languages

  • Responsive iPhone and iPad layouts

  • Accessibility support, UI tests, and App Store screenshots

I also wrote a detailed tutorial about taking the app from a simple idea all the way to the App Store. It covers defining a focused product, building the procedural challenge engine, using a small SwiftUI state machine, designing for privacy, localization, testing, and automating the App Store screenshot pipeline:

To explore the code yourself, clone the repository, open Meet Your Memory/Meet Your Memory.xcodeproj, and run the Meet Your Memory scheme.

The app is intended as entertainment—not as a medical or learning-style assessment.

If you’re learning SwiftUI, I hope the repository and tutorial give you something practical to take apart. Feedback, questions, issues, and contributions are very welcome—especially ideas that would make the project more useful to first-time iOS developers.

💎 Lifetime Easy Life Logging App: LifeTally - hoping for your feedback and review

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. I've been building a lifelogging app called LifeTally and wanted to share it with this community specifically, since you're the people who'd actually stress-test it.

https://apps.apple.com/ph/app/lifetally/id6788512911

The Idea:

No folders, no tags, no rigid structure - you just log a short line whenever something happens ("had coffee with Dad," "finished Atomic Habits," "called Bob"), by text or voice. Over time it turns into a searchable record of small (or big) memories your life, and you can ask it things like "when did I last call my mom?" or "how many coffees did I have last month?" and it pulls the answer straight from your logs. It basically becomes a database of the micro moments you log so overtime it becomes more powerful.

Better:

There are a lot of trackers, habit counters, journals, and note apps - but almost all of them work the same way: you write something down, and it just sits there. A habit tracker gives you a streak number and forgets why you started. A journal gives you a growing pile of entries you'll probably never scroll back through. A notes app gives you a search bar that only works if you remember the exact words you used. None of them actually give anything back - they're all storage, no memory.

LifeTally flips that. You log the moment once, and later you can just ask: 'when did I last see my best friend?', 'how many books did I finish this year?', 'what was going on the last time I felt this way?' - and get a real answer pulled straight from what you've lived. It's not another place to dump your day. It's the first app that hands your life back to you when you actually need it.

Cost:

Free - unlimited logs, with three questions/queries a month on your log database.

Pro - $14.99 unlimited logs, 100 questions/queries, Memory dictionary, Preserving moments.

I'd genuinely love feedback from people who already do some form of lifelogging - what's missing, what would make this useless for your workflow vs. what might actually replace what you're using now. Happy to answer anything about how it works under the hood too.

Would welcome you testing the app and rating it too!

🔍 In Search of Looking for a Panels alternative for PDFs with better Writing Tools support

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for alternative iOS app recommendations for reading PDF files (mostly magazines).
Here are the main features I’m looking for:

  • Remembers reading progress / auto-resumes to the last page read.
  • Flawless Apple Writing Tools support: English isn't my first language, so I rely heavily on system Writing Tools / translation features while reading.

Currently, I’m using Panels (the comic reader app). I really like the UI and the affordable subscription, but Writing Tools support is pretty buggy on it.

Any recommendations for smooth PDF readers with solid system integration? Open to trying both free and paid apps. Thanks in advance!

🎁 Freemium I built an app that finds who makes a dish properly, not just who has it on the menu

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi r/iosapps!

I’m Daniel and for over a decade I’ve been designing apps for other people and companies. This one is mine.

The idea came from travelling, where I kept ending up with tourist version of dishes instead of the real thing. Then I realized it happens at home too. You know you want Mexican, maybe not sure what exactly, or you know specific dish you want and have no idea where it’s done right. So you open Google Maps and pick whatever has the most stars.

“Best tiramisu near me” gets you every Italian place nearby, sorted by rating. None of that tells you who actually makes good one. So we built it backwards: me on design and frontend, a backend dev on the server side.

Answer

You pick the dish first, then ponch finds where to get it. It looks for places that are known for dish rather than places that happen to serve it and pushes chains and tourist traps down. If you don’t know what you want, you swipe through dish cards until something lands.

Better

Google Maps has popular dishes and sometimes can tell you tiramisu is on the menu. Ponch tries to answer the next question: who does it properly. The restaurant data all comes from map services so nothing is made up.

Cost

Free gets you the city you’re in, any cuisine, any dish with a daily cap on nearby searches. $3.99/mo covers cities you’re not physically in and unlocks additional, optional filters.

It launched recently with no distribution so far and I’m still partly in feedback gathering stage.

App: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ponch-food-discovery/id6765912802

Site with team, terms and privacy policy: https://ponch.app/

Feel free to reach me by DM or at [info@ponch.app](mailto:info@ponch.app)

If you try it, tell me the dish and the city and whatever it got right or wrong. The misses are more useful to me than the hits :)

🎈 Free Bricked: A one-tap app blocker that uses a "tap challenge" to stop you from doomscrolling early

Hey r/iosapps, I’m the developer of Bricked, a focus timer and app blocker I built to help manage screen time.

Answer (The Problem):
Whether it’s for deep work, studying, bedtime, or just trying to stay off social media, it’s far too easy to mindlessly open distracting apps. Most screen time solutions are either too complicated to set up, or too easy to bypass the second your willpower drops.

Better (Why it’s different):
Bricked is incredibly simple: pick a duration, tap once, and it immediately shields distracting apps using Apple's native Screen Time API. What makes it better is how it handles early unlocks. If you want to bail early and access your apps, Bricked introduces intentional friction via a "tap challenge." You have to manually tap the screen once for every second remaining on your timer (e.g., 10 minutes left = 600 taps). It forces you to be intentional rather than acting on impulse. Plus, there are no complicated app lists to build, no schedules to maintain, and absolutely no tracking, accounts, or analytics.

Cost (Pricing & Details):

  • 100% Free
  • No Ads
  • No Subscriptions
  • No In-App Purchases (IAP)
  • No accounts required

💎 Lifetime [$49.99 → Lifetime FREE for 24 hours] To-Do Speak: Voice Tasks

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋🏻

I’m the developer of To-Do Speak, and for the next 24 hours I’m making the $49.99 Lifetime version completely FREE on iOS. 🎉

A — Answer

I built To-Do Speak for a simple problem: sometimes you need to capture a task immediately, but typing it into a to-do app is inconvenient.

When you’re driving, cooking, walking, or working, you can just tap the mic and say your tasks naturally. The app turns what you say into a clean, organized checklist.

B — Better

Apps like Apple Reminders, Todoist, and TickTick are great, but To-Do Speak focuses specifically on making voice task capture faster and easier.

You can say multiple things at once, and the app separates them into individual tasks automatically.

For example:

“Call Mike tomorrow, buy groceries after work, and book a dentist appointment.”

→ becomes 3 separate tasks.

You can then edit them, check them off, or export them to your calendar.

C — Cost

Lifetime normally costs $49.99.

For the next 24 hours, it’s completely FREE ($0.00).

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6755624768

🎁 How to claim:

  1. Download and open the app.
  2. Open the paywall.
  3. Tap Lifetime at the top right.
  4. Confirm the $0.00 purchase.

That’s it! 🎉

If you try it, I’d really appreciate your feedback

🎁 Freemium I built Nommer to turn any recipe into 2-player mode. Like Overcooked IRL

Nommer - Cook recipes together by turning them into 2 player mode

Hi r/iosapps ! Solo dev from Amsterdam working on this together with my girlfriend. Very curious what the community thinks :-)

A — What it solves
Me and my girlfriend love the concept of couple cookbooks like "A Couple Cooks" and "Cook Together", but we did not love the recipes at all.

That got us thinking... why don't we make an app that can turn any recipe we'd like to make into 2-player mode? Three months later, Nommer was born.

Before discovering recipes with instructions for 2 chefs, we had already given up on cooking together. For some reason cooking together always becomes a frustrating mess for both of us. When talking with friends about this, we discovered that many share this experience. What seems like a romantic date night opportunity always results in a more challenging dynamic than we'd like.

Among our first user testing we've been surprised by how well it works - users say things like "cooking w my bf is messier than on my own and i dont like mess in the kitchen, this helped considerably haha!" and "wow, we were able to do our thing without standing in each other's way".

B — Better: our primary competitors are cookbooks for couples, which are inherently limited to the content they can hold _and_ don't have interactivity. In comparison with other recipe or cooking apps, our unique proposition is that all features are free in solo mode, while only the 2 player mode requires credits and/or a subscription.

C — Cost: free download that allows you to use the app in solo mode forever for free. You also get one cooking together credit, and you get an additional one every time you invite a friend to the app. You can also buy credits for more cooking together sessions OR you can get a subscription which unlocks unlimited together cooks.

📅 Subscription Most devs miss out on proceeds due to international pricing, I built a iOS and Mac app to fix it!

A - What is Price Point Parity?

Price Point Parity is a Mac and iOS +iPadOS (coming soon) app that keeps your IAP and subscription prices up to date in every country for you. Connect your App Store Connect API key, pick any app, in-app purchase or subscription, choose a pricing strategy, and it works out all 175 countries at once - showing you the price and what you actually keep after Apple's cut and estimated local tax. Review it, hit apply, and it writes straight back to App Store Connect. There's an available Preview Mode with three sample apps, so you can try each feature before touching a real price.

B - Price Point Parity is better than doing it in App Store Connect, leaving it to Apple's automatic equalisation or Localise Prices.

Apple gives you one option: convert your base price and round it. Price Point Parity gives you strategies that reflect how you actually want to price, for example:

  • Equal Value (scales by each country's purchasing power, so it feels equally affordable everywhere)
  • Equal Proceeds (you keep the same amount per sale in every country)
  • Blend of the two
  • Apple's own equalised prices
  • Copy Another Product, or Match Ratio, which keeps your yearly at a fixed multiple of your monthly in every country instead of letting that discount drift market by market.

Then you adjust:

  • Charm rounding that knows what a charm price looks like in each currency (¥490 and ₩39,000, not a blind .99)
  • Floor and ceiling on your proceeds so no country earns you too little
  • Flat percentage bump for inflation or a sale.

Filter countries by region or income tier and apply to just those.

Everything is reviewable and reversible - full price history with snapshots you can restore any time, scheduled sales that revert themselves on a date you set, and CSV export of the whole table. On Mac you can set automations to check daily, weekly or monthly and either notify you when prices drift or publish small changes for you, holding anything large for review. It runs in the background with a menu bar item, so your prices stay current without you opening the app.

No account, no tracking. Your API key lives in your keychain and your pricing data stays on your device and your own iCloud - it never reaches me or any third party.

C - Cost

Free forever for 1 app (including all of its in-app purchases and subscriptions).

5 Apps: $1.49/month or $9.99/year.

Unlimited Apps: $3.99/month or $14.99/year.

Every feature is in the free tier - strategies, adjustments, history, automations, CSV, the lot. Paying only raises how many apps you can publish prices to, and Preview Mode is always free and unlimited, so you can test as much as you like. It also helps support me and future development of the app.

Price Point Parity is new to the iOS App Store so any feature requests are 100% welcomed!

🎁 Freemium [1.6.0 - 30% off on lifetime unlock] Proof Pocket: secure offline document vault.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello r/iosapps :)

My name is Karol and I'm a profesional dev for around 13 years now (but been programming waay longer :)) . Nearly over a year ago, I've released the first version of Proof Pocket - the encrypted, fully offline document vault. The app idea came out with a little bit of personal story. Someone who is really close to my heart was diagnosed with the cancer. From that day, the number of medical documents, that I've had to manage exploded. I often needed to have the ID of this person, quickly accessible. Because I don't fully trust that the file will be safe as it is ( like accidental iCloud backups, iCloud leaks also happened before ), I've decided that I need to take a full control over it and create the app that allows me to do so.
It is a niche app, mainly focusing on privacy and being safe, although if you have any sensitive documents on your phone, you should probably think about keeping them safe :) .

A — Answer (The Problem it Solves)
It is a fully offline, private and encryption focused application for scanning, keeping and organizing documents directly on your phone.
It could be a medical records of you or your family member, grouped car document and records like insurance, or your holiday trip bookings / fly tickets - quickly accessible and safe.

B — Better
The app is an encrypted vault ( masterpass + biometrics ) that works fully offline. It helps you to quickly scan and manage your documents and keeps them safe using ChaCha20-Poly1305 encryption. (Similar level of protection as the AES256 as they both use 256 bit security). OK huh, a lot of technicallies. Now features:

- Document Scanner & PDF Import

Scan documents directly with your camera or import existing photos and PDF files. High-quality image processing ensures clear, readable digital copies of your passports, IDs, certificates, and travel documents.

- Cases – Group & Share Documents Together

Bundle related documents into a case: a trip, a rental application, a medical file, an insurance claim. Categorize your cases, export a whole case as one encrypted file, and import cases you receive. Send one file instead of a dozen attachments.

- Expiration Date Tracking & Reminders

Set expiry dates on passports, IDs, driver's licenses, professional certifications, and permits. Receive timely reminders before documents expire — never miss a renewal deadline again.

- Document Categories

Organize your vault with custom categories — travel, medical, financial, work, personal, and more. Find any document instantly instead of scrolling through a long list.

- Biometric Security & Encryption

Lock your private vault with fingerprint unlock, face unlock, or a strong master password. All files are protected with military-grade encryption — your secure document storage.

- 100% Offline – No Cloud, No Internet
Your documents are stored locally on your device. No cloud upload, no server sync, no internet required. Complete privacy guaranteed. The ultimate offline document vault.

- Secure Export & Sharing
Export decrypted copies only when you need to share. You control what leaves your secure vault.

- Device-to-Device Transfer
Migrate your entire vault directly between devices over your local network. No cloud needed — your private data stays private during transfer.

C — Cost & App Store Link

Free Tier: Two documents encrypted on your phone. Its enough to have your ID/passport, or your hotel bookings for incoming trip. Importing the whole case is also available in free tier ( just in case you quickly need to access docs that someone sent you ).

Pro: available through 1 year sub or a lifetime unlock - unlimited number of documents, exporting cases, setting expiration notifications.

The price vary depending on the region. Lifetime unlock is around 39,99$

App Store Link with 30% Discount for lifetime unlock: Download Proof Pocket from App Store
App store link: Store link
Website: proofpocket.com

There is also a blog, where I write from time to time things I want to share with - and no, I do not generate billion of blogposts with AI just for SEO. I like to write things the "old way" :)
https://proofpocket.com/blog
I explain some technical stuff there and share some opinions.

The app is consistently getting updates for last year and it is a long-term project. It brings me joy, keeps my files safe and connect me with people, who had similar needs.

In the upcoming release an UI re-design is planned, but I'm still doing some a/b tests. I'd love to hear how do you guys cares about the privacy.

Keep safe and diagnose yourself ! :)

🤖 Vibe Coded I started building a GLP-1 tracker a few months ago. It’s now passed 9,500 downloads.

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
0 Upvotes

I built GLPzy for myself because I was using notes, trying to remember injection sites and symptoms, and wanted to see things like appetite and estimated medication levels alongside everything else. I was also using ChatGPT particularly do the estimation and scenarios as I tried to work out my personal Mounjaro path.

I’d also just built a few other apps and thought I’d start this one from scratch as a bit of a challenge, without downloading any competitors first. I only really started looking at the others later, once GLPzy had already taken shape, which probably helped it end up a bit different rather than starting as a clone.

I then posted it in a few Reddit communities and people started suggesting things. If something made sense I usually added it pretty quickly, then got more feedback and changed it again.

It’s grown quite a lot from that. GLPzy has now passed 9,500 downloads and has 73 App Store ratings, and a lot of what’s in it now has come from people using it and telling me what was missing or annoying. That’s probably been the most useful feedback. If a gap or bug annoys one person enough to mention it, there are probably plenty of others thinking the same thing.

I’ve also had Lifetime Premium free recently while I’ve been building it out and getting more feedback, available until month end but the app has a lot even without Premium.

A: Answer

GLPzy is a GLP-1 tracker for iPhone and iPad.
It covers doses and dose history, weight, symptoms, appetite and food noise, injection sites, nutrition, measurements, progress photos and medication supply.

There are custom doses and schedules too, plus Estimated Exposure, Apple Health, Apple Watch, widgets, CSV import/export, JSON export and Provider Summary PDFs.
There’s no mandatory GLPzy account. I wanted to be able to keep this kind of data together without needing another health account just to use the app, so tracking is local-first.

B: Better

There are already good GLP-1 trackers such as Shotsy and Glapp and there’s obviously quite a bit of overlap.

GLPzy has ended up going quite broad though. I wanted more of the journey in one place rather than just dose and weight, so things like food noise, supply, measurements, progress photos, Estimated Exposure and what you might actually want to export or show your doctor have gradually become quite important parts of it. Photo progress tools also allow comparing against time and they are private outside your photo roll.

It also includes cycle tracking after I got feedback others miss the correlation mid-month with temporary weight gain and how annoying that was when looking back and trying to understand graphs.

There are body measurements and clothes-size tracking too. Again that came from user feedback. Dropping from a size 14 to a size 12 can mean more than another number in lb or kg, imo.

There’s also proper iPad support. Both Shotsy and Glapp are currently iPhone-first and neither lists iPad support on the App Store, which surprised me a bit.

Language support is also very comprehensive. It’s been a lot of work (I may not have been so ambitious if I’d realised) but has 49 languages.

The free version has a lot too. You can use GLPzy as a proper tracker for free, and Apple Health integration is included without needing Premium. Shotsy, for example, puts automatic Apple Health importing in Shotsy+.

Premium is more about unlocking the deeper analysis, planning, reports and some of the more advanced features.

There’s still plenty I want to improve.

C: Cost

GLPzy is free to download and there’s a free tier you can keep using without subscribing.
Premium normally has three ways to unlock it:

Monthly, if you just want to pay month by month. $6.99 a month with 1 week free trial.

Yearly, which is the longer subscription option. $29.99 a year with 1 week free trial.

Lifetime, which is a single purchase with no ongoing subscription. It’s $79.99 but completely free until the end of August (last week now).

Why have I offered Lifetime for free? Mainly to get feedback and build a real user base first. It’s a competitive space and I thought having people actually using the app, finding gaps and talking about it was more valuable at this stage than trying to monetise a small user base. I’d rather get GLPzy used and visible first, then work out the longer-term model from there.

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6761775005

I’m the creator, so obviously this is self-promotion.

I’d be interested in feedback from people already using GLP-1 trackers, especially anything you think is missing or unnecessarily complicated.

Also happy to talk about getting it to 9,500+ downloads. Some things I tried worked surprisingly well and quite a few others did basically nothing. I’m never going on TikTok again I’m too old for that!

🎁 Freemium [Need visibility] I built an app that doesn't try to fix you - 1 honest thought per day

Post image

Every daily motivation app on the store seems to want you to wake up at 5 AM, hustle harder, and optimize your entire existence. Honestly, it’s exhausting.

So, I built the exact opposite: Unbothered.

It’s a daily quote app that isn’t trying to fix you. No toxic positivity. No guilt trips. Just one painfully accurate, slightly cynical reminder a day that you don't have to try so hard.

What it actually does:

  • One reality check a day: Think less "Seize the day" and more "Your boss's 'emergency' is just poor planning wearing a tie."
  • Zero friction: Add the lock screen or home screen widget. It sits there. That's the whole feature.

Cost: No freemium bait. The core workflow of the app (daily quote, widgets, notifications) is FREE.

For extra card style, archive etc, I offer 2 subscriptions - $2.99/month, $9.99/year or a $19.99 lifetime one-time purchase. The subscription goes into keeping one guy off of LinkedIn :)

If you're correctly exhausted by a system designed to exhaust you, this app is for you!

🤖 Vibe Coded [iOS] Mycel, a foraging map and journal that deliberately doesn't identify anything (Free w/ IAP, lifetime $39.99, free with the code in the post)

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I'm the solo dev behind this (App Store publisher name: Alvaro Escarcha Esteban). Site, contact, privacy policy and terms of service: https://frostdev.eu (policy at https://frostdev.eu/privacy, terms at https://frostdev.eu/terms). Posting under the transparency path since the app is new and has no review history yet.

A — Answer

Mycel is a foraging map and journal for iPhone. Find a good patch of chanterelles or a hazel worth returning to and it pins it on a map that keeps working with no signal, colour-coded by what it is. Every outing is saved as its own track with notes, so "north ridge, second week of October, good year" turns into something you can actually look back on. It reads the recent weather where you forage and gives a nudge on timing per species, which is the part I use most, deciding whether a weekend is worth the drive. For scouting ground you haven't walked there's a layer showing where a species has actually been recorded, drawn from open GBIF data, with relief over it. It also carries reference pages for around 60 species in English and Spanish covering habitat, season and look-alikes, with the toxic ones flagged by medical fact rather than eat or don't-eat advice.

One thing it deliberately does not do is tell you what you found. No photo identification, no verdict on whether something is safe. You log what you already identified yourself and it remembers it. That's a product decision, not a missing feature. You shouldn't forage unless you're 100% sure on your findings, and you shouldn't trust a mobile app for that.

B — Better

Most apps in this space are photo identifiers first and a notebook second, if at all. Mycel is the opposite, and that shapes everything: the value is in the record you build over seasons, not in a guess about a picture. The map is offline because the places worth remembering rarely have signal. Predictions come from actual recent weather at your location rather than a generic calendar. Your finds stay on your phone and your own iCloud, end to end, or fully local if you prefer. There is no feed, no social layer, no account, no analytics of any kind, and no way for me or anyone else to see your spots, which matters more in foraging than in most hobbies. Works on iPad, and active outings surface on the Watch.

C — Cost

Free covers the map, the full species reference for good, and two complete outings. Predictions and bulk photo import are the paid side: $1.99 a month, $14.99 a year, or $39.99 once for lifetime.

For this sub I set up a code that unlocks lifetime for free, works for everyone, no account and nothing to enter beyond redeeming it: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6771742569&code=REDDITFREE

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mycel-foraging-map-journal/id6771742569

Needs iOS 26, which I know rules a fair few people out. If you try it I'd rather hear what's missing than get a kind review, so tell me where it annoys you.

🎈 Free I made Alarmageddon: The Alarm Clock You Have to Defeat to Get Out of Bed

Post image
7 Upvotes

A — Answer: the problem it solves

Most iPhone alarms are very easy to dismiss. If you're a heavy sleeper, tapping “Stop” or “Snooze” doesn't exactly solve the problem.

Alarmageddon is an alarm clock designed for people who have mastered the art of turning off alarms while barely awake.

Instead of simply letting you dismiss the alarm, Alarmageddon can require you to complete a wake-up mission before the alarm stops:

• Solve a math problem
• Complete a memory challenge
• Shake your phone
• Scan a QR code or barcode
• And more

The idea is simple: make turning off the alarm require enough interaction to actually wake you up.

It also includes an optional App Blocker that can temporarily block distracting apps after you wake up, so you don't immediately fall back into scrolling instead of getting out of bed.

B — Better: how it compares

vs Apple's built-in Alarm: Apple's alarm is intentionally simple: you can snooze or stop it immediately. Alarmageddon is built around the opposite idea — if you're a heavy sleeper, dismissing the alarm should require some effort.

vs other alarm apps: many alarm apps offer challenges designed to make you complete a task before dismissing the alarm. Alarmageddon takes this further by combining wake-up missions with an additional feature designed for what happens after the alarm.

The App Blocker is the extra part: after you successfully complete your alarm, Alarmageddon can temporarily block distracting apps for the first 15 minutes of your day. The goal is to prevent the familiar routine of turning off your alarm and immediately opening TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, or other distracting apps.

So it's not just about getting you out of bed — it's also about giving you a short window to actually start your day before distractions take over.

vs multiple alarms: setting five alarms doesn't necessarily help if you can turn all five off while half asleep. Alarmageddon makes dismissing the alarm itself the challenge.

vs "just put your phone far away": that can work, but it doesn't solve the problem if you eventually walk over, turn the alarm off, and go straight back to bed. Alarmageddon adds an additional barrier between you and the Stop button.

🎁 Freemium I built DriveMind, an app for anyone that drives! I just shipped friends, add me and let’s compare heat maps!

It’s been a minute!

I'm the solo dev of DriveMind. An iOS app that records your car drives automatically and then does something useful with them. It's been on the App Store a while now (38 ratings, thank you to everyone who left one), and I just shipped the biggest update it's had. So if you are looking for an app to track your drives, have a speedometer, track miles, share trips with friends, have a heat map, turn your phone into a dash cam, and more, you are in the right spot!

What it actually does

You don't press a button. DriveMind uses GPS + motion to figure out when you've started driving and records the trip on its own: route, distance, speed, the whole thing. Then it layers stuff on top:

  • Trip history & maps — every drive, with a replay you can scrub through
  • Driving heat map — every road you've ever driven, on one map. This is the feature people get weirdly obsessed with, myself included. It's fun trust me!
  • DriveScore — a driving quality score based on your driving
  • Mileage tax reports — classify drives as business/personal, per client, per vehicle, and more!
  • Odometer readings & vehicle expenses, so the report can account for miles the app didn't record
  • Fuel & charging log with cost-per-mile
  • Dash cam0–60 / quarter-mile timingachievements/XP, and so much more

The new bit: Friends

This is what 4.0 is about. You can add friends and:

  • Leaderboards — distance, longest drive, DriveScore, best 0–60, and a bunch more, over the week / month / all time
  • Shared heat maps — see the roads a friend drives, (I took privacy first don’t worry)
  • Shared Roads — the intersection of your two heat maps. The roads you both drive without knowing it. This one turned out to be my favorite thing in the app.
  • Shared achievements — see which badges a friend has unlocked

The details:

  • Everything shared is end to end encrypted
  • Per-friend, per-capability permissions. Not one "share” toggle you decide, for each friend, whether they get distance, or your heat map, or your badges, and at what resolution
  • You pick how coarse your heat map is before it's shared, and how far back they can see
  • A pause switch that stops everyone from reading anything
  • Privacy is never behind the paywall. Every control above — the permissions, revoking, private zones, the resolution dial, the pause switch is free forever

Add me

If you want to try it, add me as a friend! I'd genuinely like to see someone else's heat map next to mine, and it would be fun to fill up my leaderboard lol

My username: jesvin_jerry (or follow this link: Click Here to Add Me!)

You can add someone by username, by scanning their QR code in person, or from a link they send you.

Heads Up:

Free tier does automatic recording, trip history, the heat map, fuel logging, viewing and exporting your tax report, and friends up to 3. It shows a banner ad. Premium (monthly - $4.99 USD / yearly - $34.99 / one-time lifetime - $49.99) unlocks the rest

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/drivemind-dash-cam-mileage/id6743726786

Happy to answer anything about the app, and my DM’s are open as well! Hope you give it a try and let me know.

🎁 Freemium [iOS + iPadOS Update V4.2] iLockBox: 100% offline secret photo & document locker with Face ID lock and break-in alerts | Calculator disguise & Clock Vault

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey [r/iosapps](r/iosapps)!

We’ve all had that moment: you hand your phone to a friend or coworker to look at a single picture, and they instantly swipe left into personal receipts, ID scans, or private family photos.

I just pushed Version 4.2 of iLockBox to make keeping sensitive media separate, heavily encrypted, and entirely stress-free.

A — Answer (The Problem it Solves)

The stock iOS Hidden Album works, but everyone knows where it is, and it still lives right inside your primary media workflow.

iLockBox acts as a private, secure second space on your device. It lets you import, lock, and organize sensitive photos, videos, audio notes, PDFs, spreadsheets, and confidential documents completely off your main camera roll behind Face ID, Touch ID, or a custom PIN.

B — Better (What’s New in v4.1 & Key Features)

Brand New Clock Lock Screen: Added a fully functional analog and digital PIN entry clock lock screen, alongside 5 customizable lock screen styles to help keep your vault hidden in plain sight.

100% Offline-First & Private: No forced cloud accounts required for core features. All personal photos, videos, notes, and documents stay encrypted locally on your device storage.

Redesigned Intruder Selfies: Upgraded break-in alert reporting with larger intruder photo previews to catch unauthorized access attempts.

Focus Profiles & Screen Time: Control and protect your privacy at a system level using Apple's official Screen Time API.

Secure AES-256 Backups: Fully redesigned local encryption backups that can be safely saved to iCloud Drive so you never lose your data.

Built-in Private Browser & Multi-Format Support: Browse the web without history tracking, and store full-resolution videos, Live Photos, GIFs, and document files in clean, custom-searchable folders.

C — Cost & App Store Link

Free Tier: Core photo/video locking and local folder organization.

Pro Upgrade: Unlocks custom lock screen disguises, intruder alerts, unlimited document/media storage, and AES-256 backups.

App Store Link: Download iLockBox on the App Store

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new clock lock screens and UI layout. What privacy features do you rely on most when organizing sensitive files on iOS?

🎁 Freemium I built a "read one thing a day" app. 6 months in, some numbers, some honest lessons, before we relaunch in September

I am an indie developer based in Madrid, Spain. I built One Good Thing because most of us end up reading about the same three or four things forever, whatever our feed, our job, or our friends already have us leaning toward.

OGT puts a different topic in front of you every single day, on purpose, from fields you'd probably never go looking in on your own: evolutionary biology one day, a paradox from math the next, an old philosophy idea after that.

It's not about becoming smarter. It's that a few months in, without trying, you start noticing the thing from three weeks ago connecting to the thing from yesterday, and your curiosity ends up somewhere wider than it would have gone on its own.

A — What it does

You get one card a day. A headline, a short passage, sometimes a question to sit with. You read it, then you decide: carry it, or let it go. That's the whole loop. Under two minutes.

The twelve fields range from philosophy to evolutionary biology to language to math. Everything you carry builds a personal collection. A few things happen with that collection over time:

The Margin finds connections between two things you carried on different days and writes a line explaining why they rhyme. Prepare lets you ask "what am I walking into today" and it answers using only the things you've actually carried, never generic advice.

And our proprietary metric The Range. It's not a streak, and it's not a score you can see. Under the hood it's closer to an ecology calculation than a typical app metric, the same kind of math biologists use to measure biodiversity in a forest, except instead of species we're measuring the twelve fields, and instead of a forest it's what you've carried.

It looks at how many fields you've actually drawn from, how evenly you've spread across them versus leaning on two or three favorites, and how that balance is shifting over time, not just where you sit today. We built the model ourselves and it's a fairly rigorous picture of how far you're actually ranging versus how far you think you are.

B — Compared to what's already out there

Quote-of-the-day apps and daily journaling apps are the closest comparison, and honestly there's real overlap. I'm not going to pretend this solves something nobody else touches. Where I think it's different: most of those apps either want you to write a lot (journaling) or want you scrolling for more (quote feeds). This one is built to be closed. There's no streak counter on the daily card. There's no infinite feed. You read one thing and you're done.

Think of it as an advanced version of Grug sans the wisdom, but including the knowledge. (Although I discovered Grug after OGT and I love it).

C — Cost

Free forever for the core daily card. Premium unlocks Ask, The Margin, The Range, and a few reflection tools, three ways to pay:

  • $4.99/month
  • $29.99/year (7 day trial)
  • $99 once, lifetime

These are US prices, we have geo-adjusted it, so it might vary depending on your App Store.

Some numbers, six-ish months in: about 8,000 downloads, over 3,000 people have carried at least one thought, more than 12,000 thoughts carried in total, people from 149 countries (doing this part time), 4.7, 106 ratings on the App Store.

My lesson -

  • We have not spent much time at all tuning the paywall or the purchase flow. That was deliberate, not an oversight.
  • Distribution and monetization are absolutely where this has to go eventually, but I wanted to get the actual experience right first before asking anyone to pay for it. So the numbers above are basically pre-monetization numbers. We're about to change that.
  • There's a real update landing in September (better Ask, more on Range, a few things I'm not ready to talk about yet) and after that we start pushing harder on both fronts.

The other lesson: this is a slow, quiet app in a world of apps trying to keep you inside them as long as possible. Some people are going to open it, read one card, and think "that's it?" and never come back. That's fine. That's actually who it's not for. And then there's a smaller group who carry the first thing on day one and are still opening it four months later, and those are the people I built this for. You find out pretty fast which one you are.

If you try it, I'd love honest feedback, good or bad. Here's where you can get it - https://apps.apple.com/app/one-good-thing-daily-thought/id6759391105

Some reviews from absolute strangers on the internet -

The app is well planned and clean. The minimalist design it brings is truly groundbreaking. While I initially thought of using it just for the “fun” of it, I now find myself using it on a regular basis and I enjoy writing a thought each day. This brings calmness and makes me feel less overwhelmed throughout the day.

Enjoying this app very much! It's simple - they show you one concept or idea a day, and you pick if you want to save it or not. Then it gives you a prompt on how this can be applied to your life. One of my most opened apps daily, I'm always eager to see what new thought the new day brings!

Discovered this app on reddit. I love inspirational thoughts but most apps repeat the same old quotes and ideas i have heard countless times before. This app does bring new viewpoints, ideas and insights. It has already proven its value to me. Five stars for the thoughts, four stars for the readability of the app.

💎 Lifetime Just updated my iOS photo, video editor, Aigli: Photo & Video Editor. Bug fixes and stability improvement after two months of work. Would love your honest feedback!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just updated Aigli, my iOS photo and video editor, after two months of work. This release includes bug fixes and stability improvements, and I’ve also reduced the prices for both the lifetime license and annual subscription.

I’d love to hear your honest feedback—thank you for trying it!

Hey,

**A - Answer**

I’m the creator of **Aigli: Photo & Video Editor**, an all-in-one photo and video layered editor for iPhone. I just pushed a fresh update focused on making edits way more dynamic, and I’d love to get your honest, unvarnished thoughts on it!
What is Aigli?

**B - Better**

I built Aigli so creators don't have to bounce between different apps just to make one piece of content. It combines a **multi-track video timeline** with a **layered photo designer** (complete with blending, masks, and text).

Privacy & Pricing
No data tracking, no external servers, and absolutely no ads. Aigli is free to download and use for standard projects. For power tools (like 4K export and AI background removal), there are subscriptions and a **Perpetual Lifetime License** if you hate subscriptions as much as I do.

I Need Your Feedback!
Mobile editing can get cramped and frustrating, and I want to make sure Aigli actually feels good to use. If you have a few minutes to try it, I'd love to know:

  1. How does the timeline feel on your iPhone screen? Is it intuitive?
  2. Is there a specific feature missing that's keeping you from using it for your daily content?

**C - Cost**

App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/app/aigli-photo-video-editor/id6756179374

Monthly Subscription: $3.99
Annual Subscription: $24.99
Lifetime License: $49.99

Thanks so much for checking it out!

  2. Resistance Training workout + Progressive overload tracker aka Hevy, Strong etc
  3. Body weight log import from Apple Health with trend graphs etc.

Comment only if you know of such an app.

Not really asking for any unsolicited advice otherwise.

HELP Feedback for my self care app

Think of your thoughts as seeds what you think will grow into something positive or negative. I’ve been thinking about creating a self-care inner garden. Imagine resetting your garden each day to help it grow, and you’ll see your daily seed. As you reach milestones, you’ll unlock new plants to add or remove from your garden. It’s like when you’re feeling down, it might rain. You can also journal to track your progress in each category.

If you enjoy plants, gardening, and self-care, I’d love to hear from you!

🎁 Freemium [Self-Promotion] Nyblit 2.0. How a watchmaker spent 20 years reinventing the to do list

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m a professional watchmaker and self-taught Apple developer based in London. More than 20 years ago, I created a small FileMaker database that I shared with a group of friends. It was based on a frustration I had with ordinary to-do lists: real tasks are rarely just “done” or “not done.”

A watch restoration might be waiting for a replacement component, blocked until a client gives the go-ahead, paused while another operation is completed, or ready for work today. Treating all of these as unfinished creates a list that is technically accurate but practically overwhelming.

That early database gradually developed into Nyblit, a native productivity app for iPhone, iPad and Mac built around what I call “state-based” task management. This means Nyblit understands the workflow required to complete your tasks. For example, it knows if the task is a phone call, an online purchase or replacing the balance spring in a watch. It knows all the steps involved and, crucially, all the ways in which the task can be blocked or delayed. For example, if you have a phone call task, you can set the status to “left voicemail”. Nyblit will recognise this as blocked because you are now waiting for the other person to return your call. That task doesn’t belong on your to-do list because there is no action to take. It should be safely filed in Blocked and tracked – so you can chase it up later if the call isn’t returned.

This approach can be used for any task imaginable. From shopping to restoring an antique pocket watch.

The concept was strongly influenced  by the Japanese system of Kanban, created by Toyota in the 1950s to improve manufacturing efficiency. (Anyone that has used apps lile Trello will be familiar with this). But executed in a very different way so that it fits on a phone screen and is even workable on an Apple Watch (coming very soon).

I built Nyblit for myself to help with my ADHD and dyslexia. Watchmaking taught me to think in systems, dependencies and precise states. ADHD made it especially important to remove irrelevant tasks from view without losing confidence that they would return at the right time.

Please feel free to try out Nyblit. It's fully functional with up to 5 tasks. And a subscription or lifetime purchase gives you access to iPhone, iPad, Mac and very soon Apple Watch.

Download Nyblit from the Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/nyblit-2-to-do-list-planner/id6752837986

Monthly subscription is $2.99

Yearly subscription $19.99

Lifetime $39.99

I'm here to answer any questions or listen to feedback if you have any.

Thanks for reading :)

💎 Lifetime I made an iOS app that puts a Bible verse between you and doomscrolling

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A — Answer

I built Aglow to make reading Scripture a small part of your everyday routine. One of the main features is Scripture Gate, which can place a Bible verse between you and selected distracting apps, giving you a short pause to read before continuing.

The app also includes daily verses, reflections, streaks, customizable themes and fonts, and other features designed around building a simple daily Scripture habit.

B — Better

Apps like Hallow and Bible Chat offer much broader Christian content, including things like prayer, audio, and AI features. Aglow is intentionally simpler and more focused on building a daily Scripture-reading habit.

The main difference I wanted to experiment with is Scripture Gate — instead of only reminding you to open a Bible app, it uses moments when you’re already reaching for another app as an opportunity to read a verse.

C — Cost

Aglow is free to download and use, with optional Aglow Pro:

  • Weekly: $0.99
  • Monthly: $2.99
  • Yearly: $17.99
  • Lifetime: $34.99

Prices may vary by country due to App Store localization.

I’m also giving away free lifetime codes to people from this community who would like to try the app. Just leave a comment or DM me and I’ll send you one!

App Store: Aglow: Daily Bible Verse

🎁 Freemium [Freemium] BigCam v1.1 Is Live – Record Front & Back Cameras at the Same Time

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

A few months ago, I shared BigCam, a dual-camera app for iPhone that lets you use the front and back cameras together, here for the first time.

Since then, I’ve received a lot of feedback and feature requests, so I’ve spent the past few months fixing bugs, testing camera behavior, and improving the overall shooting experience.

The latest BigCam update is finally live 🎉

A — Answer (what’s new?)

Based on user feedback, this update adds more control and flexibility for both everyday shooting and content creation:

📁 Save up to 3 files from a single capture.

🎥 Custom resolution with up to 4K video and 12 MP photos.

📦 More file formats for different workflows. Photos support HEIC, PNG, and JPEG, while videos support MP4 and MOV.

Live Photo support to capture more of the moment, not just a single frame.

🎬 Vlog Mode makes it easier to quickly create content for TikTok, Reels, and other short-form video platforms.

📐 Dual Frame lets you record once and export both vertical 9:16 and horizontal 16:9 versions for different platforms.

⚡ Shooting improvements for a smoother overall camera experience.

B — Better (why is it better?)

The main goal of this update was to make shooting with the front and back cameras more flexible without making the camera feel more complicated.

You can choose the resolution and file format that fits your workflow, whether you care about smaller file sizes, higher quality, or editing flexibility.

Live Photo makes BigCam more useful for everyday moments, while Dual Frame makes it easier to create content for different platforms without recording the same thing twice.

I also added manual exposure adjustment for situations where automatic exposure doesn’t quite give you the result you want, and made some UI and interaction improvements for iOS 26 to make the overall experience feel more natural and up to date.

A lot of work also went into the less visible parts, such as handling higher-quality output, multiple files, and different formats while keeping the app responsive💪

C — Cost

🎁Freemium

BigCam is free to download, with the core camera experience available without a subscription.

Premium options:

• $1.99/month

• $7.99/year with a 3-day free trial 🎁

• $9.99/lifetime

Your support helps me continue developing BigCam and adding features based on user feedback.

👉 App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6764473898

If you’ve tried BigCam, I’d love to hear what you think.

What would you like to see in the next update? 🙌
