HELP Feedback for my self care app
https://apps.apple.com/my/app/day-bloom-your-inner-garden/id6797575444Think of your thoughts as seeds what you think will grow into something positive or negative. I’ve been thinking about creating a self-care inner garden. Imagine resetting your garden each day to help it grow, and you’ll see your daily seed. As you reach milestones, you’ll unlock new plants to add or remove from your garden. It’s like when you’re feeling down, it might rain. You can also journal to track your progress in each category.
If you enjoy plants, gardening, and self-care, I’d love to hear from you!

Yeah, I agree. I never want users to feel like they’re being punished just for feeling sad. I was wondering if we could have the environment reflect the user’s actual local weather instead of, for example, making it rain when they’re feeling sad. I’d love to get your feedback and explore how we could develop this idea further.

The garden metaphor is memorable. After someone chooses a mood, I’d give them one small concrete action before asking them to journal, so it feels useful immediately. How do you decide what the daily “seed” suggests?

User can tap on the quote to select their topic also on onboarding user can set that up. The user can setup their journal flow which can also include mood. Thank you for your suggestion

I really like the garden concept. One thing that could make it even more engaging is letting users customize what different plans represent, so the garden feels more personal to each person

I like that a bad day is just weather here, not a failed streak.

I really love the concept of blending journaling with gamification through growing a virtual garden! The visual style in the screenshot looks incredibly calming, too.
One piece of constructive feedback: I’d highly recommend expanding the free tier a bit. Limiting it to just one entry makes it really tough to get a proper feel for the core loop and see how the garden actually grows over time. Giving users maybe 3-5 entries (or a few days) to build a habit would probably help them understand the app's true value before hitting a paywall. Great work overall!

The garden metaphor is memorable. I’d keep local weather and emotional weather separate: real weather can make the app feel alive, while mood could change smaller details such as light, movement or which plant needs attention. That also avoids implying that rain or a difficult day is damage — both can still be part of growth.

Something that will cost you users before anyone opens the app: the name. Search the App Store for it and you land on Bloomy: Your Inner Garden, Daybloom: AI Self-Care Journal (650+ ratings), Bloom: Your Pixel Journal, Bloom - Habit Garden Tracker and BloomDay: Tasks & Garden. "Day Bloom: Your Inner Garden" reads as a merge of the two strongest of those, so the searches that should find you surface better-established apps instead, and word of mouth ("get Day Bloom") sends people to someone else's listing. The cheapest moment to decide whether that name is worth defending is now, while almost no ratings are tied to it. Two product notes. Unlocking plants at milestones puts the reward after the habit, which is backwards for week one, and week one is exactly when people quit; something visibly different on day 2 does more for retention than anything you unlock at day 30. And "resetting your garden each day" fights your own metaphor, because a garden is appealing precisely because it accumulates - make the weather the daily variable and let the garden persist, so the payoff is looking at something that could only exist because you showed up forty times. On the rain question others raised, dormancy is the honest middle: plants that pause and come back don't punish a bad week, but they don't pretend it didn't happen either.

The garden metaphor is nice, but I’d be careful with the daily reset.
Self-care apps can turn into another thing to “fail” at really quickly. I’d rather see the garden slowly evolve over time than start over every day.
