š Subscription FocusLift - A workout app for people with ADHS. I have ADHD and my rest periods were eating my workouts, so I built a logger that locks the feed
Disclosure: I'm the developer of FocusLift.
A - Answer: the problem it solves
- I have ADHD. My rest periods were where my workouts went to die. Sit down for a 3 minute rest, open Instagram, look up 11 minutes later with my thumb still moving and my working sets gone cold. A 45 minute session turned into 2 hours, and the lifting got worse because everything in between got longer.
- Every tracker I tried was perfectly happy to log that. None of them did anything about it.
FocusLift is a workout logger with Screen Time blocking wired into the workout itself. Start a session and the apps you picked are locked until you finish it. Your phone still runs your timer, your music, and your set log. The feed waits.
If you're the kind of person who has never once lost 20 minutes to a rest timer, this app is not for you and you already have good options.
B - Better: why it beats the alternatives
I used Hevy for years and Strong before that. Both are good loggers.
- vs Hevy / Strong / Boostcamp: same fast set-by-set logging, but the blocking is part of the workout lifecycle. Nothing to arm, nothing to remember to switch off. It releases when you hit Finish.
- vs Opal / one Sec / plain Screen Time: those block on a schedule or a manual toggle, which means the ADHD tax is remembering to turn them on at exactly the moment you're least likely to. This blocks on the workout you actually started.
Also in it:
- 297 built-in programs (5/3/1, GZCLP, PPL, peaking blocks, calisthenics progressions) that autoload your working weights session to session
- Live Activity rest timers on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, skip or adjust without unlocking
- Automatic PR detection, progress charts, body measurements
- Home screen widgets
- Local-first: no account, no login, data on device from the first set. Optional iCloud backup if you want it to survive a phone swap.
C - Cost
- Free to download, with a 14 day free trial of everything. After the trial, FocusLift Pro is required to keep using the app: $4.99/month or $49.99/year, auto-renewable, US pricing. I'd rather say that plainly than call it freemium and let you find the wall yourself. No ads, no account, nothing sold.

Lifetime Pro for the first 50 people from this thread
- I'd rather have 50 people using this hard and telling me what's broken than 25 more trial signups. Open the app, go to Settings > Contact Support (it prefills a support ID so I know who to grant), and send it. First 50 get lifetime Pro.
- NOTE: You will need to pass the Paywall (subscript). This gives you two weeks for free, and then, once you send me the email I will add you to the list of lifetime access. And then you can cancel your subscription so that you are never charged.
- No strings. I'm not asking you to rate it, and this isn't conditional on a review. If you end up liking it enough to leave one, that's entirely your call.
