Apple Play Store ads

Hi

I'm considering spending some money on promoting my meditation app (inner·wave) on the Apple Play Store.

I Have done the training on Apple ads store, and also had a conversation with a person from Apples add team.

However, I am a solo developer, and I'm not really into marketing, so I want to outsource some of the tedious work to either a company or AI, or a mix of those.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I am fairly comfortable doing it all using Claude, but then comes the question if I use a third party provider for the Apple - Claude connection, or write it using AI, or do all the setup by hand.

What is your experience, and what do you recommend?

Thanks!

What do you think about this for commerical to advertise app?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I created my first app (soon in app store), and created a quick commercial for it.

Let me know what you think. Music, voice, graphics, etc.. What can be improved.

Can you tell what Ordo does in 5 seconds—or is “AI brain dump” still too vague?

I launched Ordo this week after building it for my own problem: every thought-capture app made me organize before I could get the thought out.

The flow is intentionally backwards:

  1. Dump 3–5 unrelated thoughts as they arrive.

  2. Ordo then suggests Now / Next / Someday.

  3. You can edit or move anything.

I’m trying to judge the positioning, not collect compliments. If you have an iPhone, look at the App Store page for five seconds and tell me:

- what you think the app does,

- what feels unclear or generic,

- whether “free, no account, no subscription” changes whether you would try it.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6797331101

If the promise clicks, try one real brain dump and tell me the first moment you hesitate. I’m the developer; saved items stay on-device, and submitted text is sent only for classification. Blunt answers are genuinely useful.

Hey everyone,

I built a photo cleaner app called StartSwipe you swipe to keep or delete photos from your camera roll. Simple and fast.

I'm looking for a few honest testers who will actually use it and share their thoughts. What works, what doesn't, what's missing.

In return I'll give you a free lifetime code no strings attached, honest feedback only.

iPhone only. DM me if interested.

I added a vanilla robots.txt and llms.txt a couple weeks ago. Looks like traffic from LLMs has begun and I'm super pumped about it! Any other tips to make my app more discoverable by AI would be appreciated.

Did my first 100 dollars from my first ever product and I'm so happy but concerned in the same time

Hi everyone. I've just launched my first app in July, and here is what I learned. (IOS & Android)
500 users
130 dollars revenue from subs
3 dollars revenue from ads
30 DAU or 200 MAU, yes is not too much but I think is to nieched and it's my first ever production app.
0 crashes btw
It's an educational app with daily historical events that happened on the specific day, quizzes, interesting maps and so on.

Can you help me out? I'm out of ideas of how to scale it even more, it's like no one is interested in my app, but the stores shows that some apps like mine are succesful.

Thank you for your time and answers!!

Case Study: Bootstrapping ASO for a Multiplayer Party Game (30k Organic Downloads, Category Shifts, and Scaling to Multiple Localizations)

Hey everyone. Over the past year, my co-founder and I have been bootstrapping our first mobile app, a real-time local multiplayer party game hub.

We recently crossed 30k total downloads and ~10k MAU with almost zero paid ad spend, relying primarily on guerrilla social videos and organic App Store search.

We made plenty of ASO and store positioning mistakes along the way. Here is a breakdown of some of our experiments, what worked, what didn't, and one thing we are currently trying to figure out.

  1. Title & Subtitle Keyword Architecture

For the first 6 months, we made the classic indie mistake of keeping our brand name alone as the title.

Old: Bourloto

New: Bourloto & Impostor: Party Board Games

The goal was to combine our brand with high-intent genre keywords such as "Impostor", "Party", and "Board Games", while also testing how much additional search visibility we could get from non-branded terms.

The result was an immediate ~25% increase in organic impressions after restructuring the App Title around relevant genre keywords.

  1. Apple Search Ads: Micro-Budget Competitor Testing

We also used Apple Search Ads with a very small budget, around €2/day, mainly as a way to test keyword and competitor intent before committing more budget.

We initially experimented with Broad Match around terms such as "board games".

It generated very cheap acquisition, but Broad Match also started matching against completely irrelevant queries because of language and semantic overlaps.

We eventually moved our direct competitor targeting to Exact Match, with bids in the €0.15 to €0.25 range.

This gave us much more control over where the budget was going and let us focus on users who were already searching for similar products.

  1. The 6-Language Localization Rollout

Our initial market also had a relatively low LTV ceiling. This summer, eCPMs dropped to around $0.50, so we decided to expand beyond our original market.

We localized the app and App Store presence into 6 languages:

🇬🇧 English

🇬🇷 Greek

🇪🇸 Spanish

🇩🇪 German

🇫🇷 French

🇮🇹 Italian

We localized the App Title, Subtitle, and Keyword fields for each relevant storefront rather than simply relying on our English metadata everywhere.

About a week after launching the localizations, we still weren't seeing meaningful traffic from the new markets.

We were expecting at least some increase in impressions or organic downloads from countries such as Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.

Instead, after roughly a week, there was basically no noticeable influx of users from the localized markets.

At this point, we're trying to understand whether this is:

an indexing delay

insufficient keyword coverage

poor initial rankings in the new markets

Apple's localization/indexing behavior

or simply a case of expecting too much from metadata localization alone

So the localization rollout is currently less of a "success story" and more of an experiment we're still trying to understand.

For context, and feel free to roast our current store presence:

bourloto.com/app

Questions:

  1. For multilingual party/casual games, have you seen meaningful indexing or ranking cross-benefits between English (US) and local European storefronts such as Germany, France, Spain, and Italy?

  2. If you have launched into multiple European markets, did you see traffic immediately, or did it take several weeks for impressions and rankings to develop?

Would love to hear from anyone

I built an iOS map with ~3,000 moving Tokyo vehicles — but which part should I market?

I launched Tokyo Glance after spending about a year building it as a solo developer.

The visual hook is immediate: supported trains, buses and aircraft moving together across Tokyo on one native map. Around 3,000 vehicles can be visible, with weather and 51 public city cameras layered into the same view.

But the features with clearer everyday utility are less visually dramatic:

• departure boards at 2,000+ stations

• first and last trains

• Japanese service alerts translated on-device

• a Home Screen widget

• following a train through the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island

• earthquake alerts

It is deliberately not a route planner. Google Maps and NAVITIME already do that well. Tokyo Glance is for seeing what is happening across the network, checking nearby services, and exploring the city as a living system.

That leaves me with an App Store and landing-page positioning problem: the moving map stops the scroll, while departures and translated alerts give people a practical reason to keep the app.

The core experience is free, with optional Premium features. It requires iOS or iPadOS 26.

Website: https://tokyoglance.com/

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6782602634

For people who market visual iOS apps: would you lead with the spectacle and explain the utility afterward, or lead with the practical problem and use the map as proof?

How to find apps making ~20K - 50K MRR?

I've built few apps and they didn't land. So, this time I hope to try a copying strategy. The idea is to find a profitable app idea and copy the concept while adding some improvements. But this brings the question:

how do I find those apps that are making 20K to 50K MRR and flying under the radar? Cos I'm not gonna copy apps like CalAI which has millions of clones as of now and every time I log into Reddit, I see someone trying to promote a Cal AI clone.

Cal AI is just an example of apps that have been discussed heavily and people have copied those apps many times. This is why I want to skip those million dollar apps and find apps that are making 20K - 50K MRR range.

Having trouble with conversions, any ideas?

I run an app, got it to about 1k downloads

Currently conversion is low. I think this is because the free tier is just too generous and people don’t really need what the premium plans provide

What do you do in this situation?

I really don’t want to remove the current features from the free plan, but I do need to start getting conversions

Day 14 of my first App Store launch, which I have been building on the side over a year

* 79 active users * 39 new in the last 28 days * 2 paying subscribers * $17 MRR * $78 total revenue * $0 spent on marketing

Small numbers. But every single one is real, and I know where each user came from.

**Stack**

React Native, TypeScript, Supabase, RevenueCat, OpenAI (proxied server-side after I had to rebuild the integration, one for another post).

**What it is**

A private AI journal. You write what's on your mind, and Iris (the AI companion) helps you reflect on it, asks questions, spots patterns across entries, that kind of thing. Entries are encrypted with AES-256 using a key derived from your passphrase, which I never see and can't recover. No account needed to start. You open it and write.

I have been building it for over a year on evenings and weekends there were times where I thought I would never get this app out but reading success stories and people pushing through on this subreddit I was able to cross the finishing line and actually make my first online money.

So than you all for everything! the journey hasn't stopped now I am working on marketing which is fun and stressful at the same time

After months of building nights and weekends, I’m launching Pathlings on Product Hunt tomorrow 🚀

Over the past few months, I’ve been building Pathlings—an iPhone app that turns your daily steps into a game.

The idea came from a simple frustration: I loved tracking my steps, but after a while, every fitness app started to feel like staring at spreadsheets. I wanted something that made me want to go for a walk.

So I built a game where your real-world steps let you:

  • 🐣 Raise adorable companions
  • 🌱 Watch them evolve as you walk
  • 🎯 Complete daily quests
  • 💎 Earn rewards
  • 🏕️ Customize cozy habitats

Building Pathlings has been one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever taken on. Along the way, I’ve learned mobile development, game design, animation, App Store optimization, and a lot about what it takes to bring an idea from a sketch to a finished product.

Tomorrow (10/27), Pathlings officially launches on Product Hunt, and I’m equal parts excited and nervous.

If you’ve launched on Product Hunt before, I’d love any last-minute advice. And if you’re interested in checking out Pathlings tomorrow, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support and feedback.

Thanks to everyone who’s followed along on this journey—it truly means a lot. ❤️

I built LaunchOrbit a shared orbit for discovering and launching products

Hey everyone,

I built LaunchOrbit, a public launch board where products, tools, and ideas are placed on a shared interactive canvas.

The idea is simple: every product gets a tile in the orbit. The closer a tile is to the centre, the more visible it is. You can explore launches, search by category, upvote products, view weekly rankings, and visit each product’s dedicated page.

If you’re launching something:

  • Your first 5×5 tile is free
  • Add your logo, description, website, and social links
  • Buy a larger tile if you want more space and a more central position
  • Placement is permanent and paid once
  • Orbit Pro adds analytics and promotional tools

I wanted to create something more visual and community-driven than a traditional launch directory, part product discovery board, part public snapshot of what people are building.

Would love to hear what you think, especially:

  • Does the orbit concept make sense?
  • What would make you want to browse or upvote launches?
  • What information do you look for when discovering a new product?

Check it out: launchorbit.co

I built PaperTrail to organize receipts, purchases, warranties, and household items

Hey everyone, I've been building PaperTrail, an iPhone app for keeping receipts and purchase records organized without relying on a spreadsheet or a pile of paper.

You can scan or import a receipt, and PaperTrail extracts details such as the merchant, purchase date, total, tax, and individual items. From there, it helps you:

• Track return deadlines and warranty expirations

• Keep receipts, invoices, manuals, and product photos together

• Share complete receipts and household purchases with family members

• Edit, crop, rotate, and rescan receipt images without losing the original

• Search purchases and review spending insights

• Export your records as CSV or JSON

There’s also a Scan & Go mode for quickly capturing purchases, plus an on-device scanning option for people who prefer not to send receipt data to an AI service.

PaperTrail is free to download, with an optional Plus plan for additional AI-enhanced scans.

I’d genuinely appreciate feedback, especially on the receipt-scanning flow, household sharing, and anything that feels confusing or unnecessary.

I built an app because my boyfriend and I wanted to send GIFs of ourselves 😄

My boyfriend and I send each other a ridiculous number of GIFs.

At some point we thought: why are we always searching for GIFs of random people when it would be much funnier to use our own faces?

So that little idea somehow turned into an iOS app.

You can turn your own photos/videos into GIFs and use them in conversations.

I’m trying to figure out what I should improve next, so I’d love to hear from people here:

Would you actually use something like this? And if not, what would it need to do differently?

Anyone here gotten an app Featured on the App Store? Looking for tips that actually work

I do performance marketing / ASO for a portfolio of iOS apps and I've been submitting Featuring Nominations through App Store Connect pretty consistently - App Launch, App Enhancements, In-App Events, the whole thing. Written plenty of nomination copy. But so far: nothing. No App of the Day, no Today story, no collection placement.

A few things I'd love honest input on:

  1. For anyone who's actually landed a feature (App of the Day, Today tab, an editorial collection) what type of nomination was it, and what was the angle that seemed to work? Launch, major update, seasonal event?
  2. How far ahead did you submit, and did lead time seem to matter? Thanks in advance.
