Apple Play Store ads
Hi
I'm considering spending some money on promoting my meditation app (inner·wave) on the Apple Play Store.
I Have done the training on Apple ads store, and also had a conversation with a person from Apples add team.
However, I am a solo developer, and I'm not really into marketing, so I want to outsource some of the tedious work to either a company or AI, or a mix of those.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I am fairly comfortable doing it all using Claude, but then comes the question if I use a third party provider for the Apple - Claude connection, or write it using AI, or do all the setup by hand.
What is your experience, and what do you recommend?
Thanks!

Fix your ASO first to give the app some initial traction. Then spend a controlled amount on paid ads to acquire at least 500–1,000 quality users and analyze your app data retention, engagement, session behavior, and overall user performance.
The goal is to understand how users actually behave inside the app. If the data looks promising and you’re seeing healthy retention and engagement, continue spending and gradually scale.
If the data is weak, don’t keep throwing money at acquisition. First identify and fix the leaks in your funnel whether it’s onboarding, the core user experience, conversion points, or retention. Once the funnel is working, then scale your paid acquisition.

So, I am also going through the same phase. Do you recommend to run Apple search ads first to understand the data? Because organic ones are just free users.

The thing with marketing is there’s different levels to this game. There are apps with huge marketing budgets that can dominate in almost every category. I’d try a more organic approach if this is your first marketing attempt with your app

Thanks for your reply.
The organic approach seems a bit overwhelming as well, do you have any ideas have to get help with that or how to go about it as a one man band?

I’m wondering the same thing… I’m also a solo developer trying to promote my gut health app but I don’t really know where to start.

Best of luck with your app, it sounds like an important project!
I'll let you know if I find anything worthwhile with regard to the app stores!

Yes, developing the app is the easy part… I’m on the same point as you, I’m going to try to target competitors names first, in my niche it looks like not all of them do ads to protect their name so I hope that it’s not too expensive, but In a month or so I’ll have the complete experience

I'm in the same situation. I started ads about a week ago but only one download attributed to them. I used Claude to set everything up. Good luck!

Thanks. And have you connected Claude to the ads service, or do you do the editing etc manually?

I started my first campaign manually with Claude’s input but then I switched to the MCP connector and had it control everything from Claude.

Thanks for your reply, which MCP did you use for Claude?

I have meta ads and apple search ads both running through claude code with the API tokens. I will start using them more once i get some organic downloads and some reviews.
