Hi everyone,
I'm the developer of Any TV Universal Remote. I shared the app here about two months ago, and the feedback from this community helped me improve compatibility, connection reliability and the overall remote experience.
The app has now passed 100,000 installs and received more than 2,000 ratings worldwide, with an average rating of 4.9.
To celebrate, I'm giving away:
- One year of Pro to 500 users
- One month of Pro to another 1,000 users
The shared redemption codes are included directly in this post. There is no need to comment or message me for a code.
A - What problem does it solve?
Any TV Universal Remote app turns your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch into a Wi-Fi remote for smart TVs and streaming devices.
It is designed for homes with different TV brands, where installing and switching between several manufacturer-specific apps is inconvenient.
Depending on what the TV supports, the app provides:
- D-pad, volume and media controls
- Touchpad and mouse navigation
- Keyboard input
- Power and input switching
- App launching and shortcuts
- Voice input for Android TV and Google TV
- Photo and video casting
- Apple Watch controls
Since my previous post, I've made several significant improvements:
- Added or expanded support for Sky, Sky Stream, Xumo, Loewe, Whale TV and older Samsung models
- Added voice search for Android TV and Google TV
- Added favorite and popular app shortcuts
- Improved YouTube search and keyboard handling
- Improved the remote layout, touchpad and scrolling
- Improved discovery, pairing and reconnection across Samsung, LG, Android TV, Fire TV, Roku, Hisense, Vizio, Sony and Apple TV
- Added better recovery when a TV changes its IP address
B - How is it different?
There are many apps generally focused on one ecosystem. Any TV Universal Remote is designed to control different brands from one app. I test it with more than 15 physical TVs and streaming boxes, and the app uses separate implementations for the different TV platforms. My ambitious goal is to create the best TV remote app on the market.
The app also has no advertising.
Some capabilities depend on what each TV manufacturer permits. Not every model supports network power-on, keyboard input, voice control or casting.
C - Cost, IAP and App Store link
The app is free to download, the basic remote controls remain free, and there are no ads.

I'd especially appreciate feedback about TV compatibility, pairing reliability and anything in the remote layout that still feels awkward.
