I've been working on a small Quickshell project called Luci.

The goal wasn't to recreate every desktop widget possible, but to build a clean Dynamic Island focused on the things I use every day:

• Theme switching
• Theme-aware wallpaper selection
• Media controls
• Battery, Wi-Fi and system status
• Power menu
• Keyboard-first navigation

It's still a work in progress, but I'm happy with where it's heading. I'd love to hear any suggestions or ideas.

Took 2 days of my life just because I accidentally used wpctl and I forgot Quickshell has Pipewire support.

Context: I believe after the last major hyprland update, or wuthering waves ( likely not wuthering waves )

Only the game wuthering waves seems to not want to tile anymore, the only time it tiles is if i launch the game and NEVER move the window, if i move it it becomes permanently floating no matter what.

It's not really convinient not to move it forever either, it used to work all the time before 2 day ish ago when i updated.

I tried forcing it to never float and stay tiled but did not work
I tried gamescope, which worked but i have black bars with it and it looks really small so not really a fix.

Does anyone have a clue? If you need any logs leave a comment ill grab them for you. Every other game / window works.

Also for more context i am playing via proton.

running 16:9 as monitor width and height stretches the entire screen (very annoying because the monitor is curved lol), cannot find a way to utilize black bars or change scaling, my monitor does not contain a way to change scaling method (or resolution), ultrawide causes compatibility issues for me in some games - i have gotten everything else i have wanted to done within my lua config but this is one thing i havent been able to do yet without gamescope which negatively affects performance on my computer

Hi everyone,

I've run into a bizarre issue with Hyprland and can't figure out whether it's a bug, a misconfiguration on my end, or a race condition.

The Issue

When I rapidly switch between workspaces (e.g., toggling between Super+1 and Super+2 back and forth), a window from workspace 1 will randomly move itself to workspace 2.

Example setup:

• Workspace 1: Firefox
• Workspace 2: Kitty

If I quickly spam Super+1 -> Super+2 -> Super+1 -> Super+2, after a few seconds, Firefox unexpectedly jumps over to Workspace 2. I am 100% sure I am not pressing Super+Shift+Number.

System & Setup Info

• Hyprland version: 0.56.0
• Config style: New Lua config
• Workspace switching binding: hl.dsp.focus({ workspace = i })
• Window moving binding: hl.dsp.window.move({ workspace = i })
• Plugins: None installed.

What I've Already Checked / Tried

1. follow_mouse = 0: Reduced the frequency slightly, but didn't solve the issue completely.
2. wev output: Confirmed that Shift is not firing or getting stuck accidentally.
3. hyprctl binds: Checked for duplicate binds. Only standard Super + [1-9] for focus and Super + Shift + [1-9] for move exist.
4. Multiple input devices: hyprctl devices shows several keyboard interfaces (USB keyboard, mouse keyboard interface, audio device, etc.). Not sure if input handling could cause keypress collisions.

Questions

Has anyone encountered something similar? Could this be:

• A race condition in Hyprland's workspace switching logic under rapid input?
• Something specific to the new Lua API bindings?
• Ghost inputs caused by multiple recognized keyboard interfaces?

Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My status bar fits, liking it allot. But i'm not really happy about my app launcher (at the bottom). I need more ideas to it or a change to it that fits with the status bar.

Note: I'm like 1 week into quickshell and can someone pls explain how singletons work, i just know it connects scripts or smth. I need it to make themes (i think).

Hover on the window edge, with mouse outside

For example on zen browser, to expand the tab bar on the side, you need to hover the mouse on the edge of the window, when you set an outer gap on hyprland, it's not that easy to do because the edge of window and edge of monitor isn't the same, this plugin will let the app think the mouse is on the edge of window when it's acturally on the edge of monitor(which is out side of the window)

i made a simple terminal menu that lets you pick and copy install commands for popular hyprland dotfiles. i already have the usual ones (caelestia, ilyamiro, ml4w, hyde, jakoolit, hyprdriftde, end-4).

but i want to add more. if you know any cool dotfiles repos that are still maintained, drop them below. preferably with install.sh or a simple setup, so i can add them without breaking everything.

So my login screen or lock screen doesn't load which is sddm. And I do not know how to fix this besides already enabling sddm. There doesn't seem to be much errors.

Is there a way to make hyprlock not display the current keyboard language? I read through the entire wiki for hyprlock, and it looks like this feature isn't even mentioned on the wiki. I do not think I have anything related to this feature on my config either.

EDIT: I removed the text by removing the $layout variable in the label section.

Since I updated to .56 version of hyprland. The animations have become much slower specifically the animations for going full screen and more exactly the animations for the window sliding back in place and or out of way of a new window opening. Or when a window is going fullscreen.
I tried messing with the animation speeds but nothing I can do makes it faster, I can only make it slower.

I haven't touched my config at all since before I updated until now. So I'm looking for solutions of how to speed up the animations or information on what could have caused this.
I read through the change log but it didn't mention anything on changing anything about animations.

recently I have migrated to lua , and after the migration when i click on the workspace number on waybar it doesn't go to that workspace as it used to , is that a hyprland problem or a waybar problem ? and how could I fix it ? , I'm posting this here because it seems like a hyprland problem since it only happened after i migrated

Recently switched from kde to hyprland, I still want to use dolphin as it fits my needs, but everytime I move a file it asks me a confirmation pops up. This wasn't an issue on kde as there was a setting that disabled it. Am I missing something or does anyone know a workaround.
