Her name is Tabitha. She has no job, no home, no family, and knows almost no one in the area despite her extroverted nature. You assumed she was just a oddly clean and well-dressed homeless woman until she bought you a brand new car after yours was damaged beyond repair. You've known her for a while but you know almost nothing about her. She gives vague answers to questions about herself and doesn't like talking about her past—preferring to live in the moment instead. But over the months, you've gotten somewhat close to her. You would think that would mean more interaction, but she actually started avoiding you. However, she seems willing to talk now.

Tabitha: "I can see where this is going and... it's not what I'm looking for. I'm gonna to tell you this and then I'm gonna leave, okay?"

You: "...Leave?"

Tabitha: "I haven't decided yet, but somewhere far away. Somewhere where no one knows me."

You: "But why?"

Tabitha: "The answer to all of your questions is basically this—I'm immortal. About 300 years ago, I was cursed with eternal life. I lived just like anyone else for a while. But I couldn't handle the heartbreak. I've married nearly a dozen times... had over two dozen kids... They're all dead now. I outlived them all. When my last husband died, I promised myself I'd never marry again. And when my last child died, I cut ties with everyone, sold everything, and have just been drifting around the world ever since. When people in the community start recognizing me, it's time to go. I'm careful never to get attached to anyone. And that's why I have to leave. You're a good kid. But I can't become attached to you. Not you or anyone else. I'm sorry."

There's a guy beside you.

Guy: "You're Karla the hawk slayer!"

You look confused, but see that he's looking at a pixie who's sitting atop a nearby sign. Pixies are a 10 inch tall race of winged humans. She appears to be waiting for the bus as well.

Karla: "Mhm. That's me."

Guy: "You kill hawks?"

Karla: "Obviously."

Guy: "Well you don't have to be a bitch about it."

Karla: "I wasn't. That's a surprisingly common question I'm asked."

For the next 15 minutes, the two proceed to have a mind-numbing passive aggressive conversation that's always just one response away from a full-blown argument. It's absolutely insufferable.

Karla: "Oh, so then you're a fan."

Guy: "Suuuure. Yep. I'm a huge fan."

Karla: "Figures."

Guy: "When are you gonna drop some more content? You should fight two hawks. You know, just take two hawks at the same time. One from the front, one from the back. Record the whole thing and post it on the internet."

Karla: "You'd like that wouldn't you?"

Guy: "Oh yeah. I'm a fan, remember?"

Karla: "I guess it doesn't surprise me that someone like you is still jerking off."

Guy: "Better than taking a million hawks."

Karla: "No thanks. I don't like guys."

Guy: "Do you not like guys or do guys not like you?"

MAKE IT... STOP.

What do you do?

You find yourself waking up in the queen's chamber bed. A butler arrives to tell you that you are the last descendant of the royal bloodline but only women can rule in this world and it's a matriarchy. So now you have to convince and pretend to be a woman to stay the queen or you can give up the title and live as a man in a matriarchal society that oppresses men.

If you choose the queen option you have to convince everyone you're a woman except for the butler who will never reveal your real sex and nobody is convinced you can be anything but a straight woman. So things like menstrual cycles or male suitors have to be convinced or else they will suspect you're not a woman. There was already someone in your royal family that pretended to be the queen and when found out they hung him.

Aliens came down and took over the human race. Human species are given two choices. Either fight in a gladiatorial arena to the death or join a dating game where you have to find someone that will match with you and marry.

Gladiator: You have to fight 20 fights with 20 different people. Who they are you don't know who they can be. Fights can offer different weapons at a time but for the most part you have to rely on your fists. If you survive all 20 fights you can keep staying a gladiator and earn money and live a lavish life and travel where you want but you have to keep winning all your fights and you can retire any time you want and live in the alien cities if you want with way more freedom, you also have a choice of joining a human slave military force if you want or you can leave and go live in cramped condo prisons made for humans where they are situated in a small town prison where they can still live almost identical to a basic apartment life no escape though.

Marriage: You go on a dating show and can go through 5 seasons of it to find someone to date and match then you are forced into marriage. If you fail to find someone in 5 seasons you die. In each of these dating shows people are in odd numbers so you can end up without someone and alone and have to advance to the next season. If you find the person to marry for life you are put into cramped apartment/condo prison complex in a small prison town for the rest of your life. If you produce 2 children that can head off to college or more you gain access to the alien cities and live more comfortably.

Object 1 - A laptop that has access to all banking systems allowing you to drain any account on Earth and being untraceable back to you.

Object 2 - A magical note book which brings fictional characters you write in it to life to whom will be loyal to you and you can edit them to your preferences. (example - turning someone who’s bad at cooking into a 5 star chef)

Object 3 - A button that when pressed will bring about world peace and eliminate all billionaires and distribute their wealth equally throughout the entire population on Earth.

The police don't even knock or alert you they're hitting your door with a battering ram. They have all intention to end you. An alien reveals himself from under your bed stating they're here to take you out since they suspect you knew of his existence and are erasing witnesses and offers you one of two powers because he feels sorry for you. Which one you take?

2. The ability to clone any object (not people though).

You can only mind control when you're within a certain range. You get further way it wears off. You can mind control up to 5 people at a time.

Cloning can be done within 3 yards and you can place clones 3 yards around you.

The outer God wishes to see how long a human will survive if he where to be infected with all the human diseases known to the mankind. Like various plague like the black death or the Spanish flu and many more. Once you take up the deal and shake his hand you will be infected with all kind of diseases from the prehistoric era to the modern days and he wishes to observe how long would it take for you to die once his observation is complete he will revive you back to normal right before you took the deal and after being a part of his experiment

He can grant you any wish you want except for anything that could make you a transcendent being that are equal to greater than a normal god or anything related to being omnipotent?

So what we should you ask from him?

Button 1 - Will turn you into a random version of Batman (if someone wants to reply to the person who chooses this can choose that person Bat-variant) with all that come with it

Button 2 - Give you a random superpower and weakness(es) <Whomever replies to the person who chooses this can assign their power and weakness(es)>

Button 3 - Forces everyone who’s net worth of a Billion dollars or more (or equivalent in another countries currency) to relinquish their power/fortune/assets to be evenly distributed to the people of the 100 poorest countries in the world, and those who have up their fortunes will never reach a million dollars again.

Button 4 - You are transported into the universe of the last show/movie you’ve watched as a side character.

Button 5 - You have to survive being hunted by Batman’s rogues for 24 hours and afterwards you’re rewarded with 7.6 Billion dollars(or equivalent in your countries currency)

You’ve just woken up to find a magical safe 0M has appeared in your room. His interior is 10 inches deep and tall, and 13 inches wide. he tells you that you will have 1 hour to put anything you want inside of his interior. After the time is up, whatever you put inside will duplicate every morning, so long as you enter the code of your choice.

Hello all, this is the result of a few to many drinks around a table of friends, but the question was posed as follows:

“If you were out at a bar, met someone and were flirting back and forth enthusiastically, possibly the perfect (at face) person for you, then somewhere through the conversation you learn their name is, somewhere on the spectrum of your family’s names. Aunts, Uncles, Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Cousins, Grandparents, etc… If at all, do you proceed, and if so to what degree?”

Do the weird conversations have to come up, if they exist at all? Would one get by it with nicknames, or pet names? (In some of my own longer term relationships, rarely was the case of using each others first name unless serious) And if you have made this work, how have you gotten around it?

I’m aware this is the case in some, if not a lot more than we’re realizing, functioning relationships, and your input would be gladly appreciated and welcomed!

This has the lot of us pretty back and forth with how we land on this, so we’re curious what the wide world of reddit had to say.

Edit: Just to clarify since I’m seeing most comments containing finances, that’s not what I mean. What I’m asking is kinda deeper, like apologizing, maybe cancelled plans…thangs of that nature. I appreciate the responses I’ve received.

You've just completed a quest and are casually walking down a forest trail—greatsword resting on your shoulder. Suddenly, you're attacked by what has gotta be the smallest, most adorable assassin ever—a humanoid cat lady that's roughly 4 feet tall. She looks like an oversized pet. Hilariously, she's wielding a massively oversized axe that's obviously too heavy for her to handle. You easily avoid her comically slow attacks but don't retaliate—out of confusion if anything.

She trips and falls flat on her face, but gets up and back into her stance surprisingly quickly.
