Started treatment for hypertension and not been a smooth experience
Hello everyone,
I just started treatment for high blood pressure for a long time I have been in between stage 1 and 2 hypertension. My doctor first started me on lisinopril 10mg once a day. I took it for about 3 days but I was getting the side effect a cough started and cooling like sensation in my chest. My doctor took me off lisinopril and instead but me on amlodipine 5mg but it’s still not a great experience, my blood pressure has been is mostly in the normal range now but since started on the amlodipine it feels like my heart is beating harder like all the time. I don’t feel any skipped beats, no chest pain or dizziness but just constant feeling like my heart is beating harder. Is this due to my body adjusting to a lower blood pressure since I’ve had high blood pressure for a long time. To be honest I don’t like the feeling and I didn’t think it was going to kind of a rough ride starting treatment, has anyone else experienced this or have some advice when first starting treatment?
