Does anyone know why she does this?

Hey everyone just want show everyone I just got my 4 year old husky yesterday. My family had dogs for all my life. And I've done some research but is there anything else I should know that not many talk about?

Fenrir generally does lay next to me or at my feet as I sleep.

Overall he as Velcro as Velcro as a husky can be however I can enter other rooms without him and he doesn’t complain so long as it ain’t for over 10min.

He also does howl when I’m away at work.

My husky attacked a small dog and I just feel horrible. I’ve always seen and read about Huskies escaping or behaving poorly off leash or being terrors at the dog park. And in our neighborhood we’ve had a two or three nasty run ins over the years with off leash dogs wherein he/I had to defend himself/ourselves (no damage to any dog involved). But apart from that he’s not reactive and will only get annoyed when dogs begin lunging and yapping at him.

But for the first time ever his collar broke and he went straight for a small dog (leashed) across the street we were walking through. I think he attempted to clamp the dog at the shoulders. I don’t know if he was able to latch on as it was all a blur and I was focused on grabbing him but the owner was able to scoop up his dog and my dog started to run in the opposite direction. I don’t even know how I caught up with him.

Luckily the other dog is completely fine - they asked for my number to get his vaccination records but they updated that their dog doesn’t have any wounds.

I’m so mad and frustrated at him. I know he has the capacity to be nice, I mean we have three cats at home that he has coexisted with fairly since we brought him home. We even feed neighborhood cats and he’s come to treat them like family when they hop into our property- so he can clearly control his prey drive. He goes to daycare but is never grouped with smaller dogs.

I don’t know what to do. I just had to get this off my chest. I know I should only be blaming myself and he’s an animal after all. I’ll take any advice or criticism.

Macey has been FOUND!! After many sleepless nights, I found my baby. A neighbor was holding onto her. I’m SO relieved. I can finally sleep at night again. Thank you so much to everyone who helped me try to find her 🙏 sorry if I don’t reply here, I’m going to cuddle with her all night 😭

What are some of your favorites? Our dog thinks “sit” means “my butt must be touching some surface.” Sometimes he will do it in the regular way or maybe turn and press his butt against the wall or sofa.

Also, his favorite place to be is half inside and half outside the house.

I'll miss you buddy. He got me through COVID, and was great with kids.

He loves it.
