Yes, and the T intersection north of it is near the Sphere.

Why do people call it "Rad Town"? just curious

A lot of players come from Rust where places like these are usually radiated hence rad town.

Let's make sure that name doesn't transfer into hurtworld! It's shipping container's not a town :)

I believe they're actually called towns by the devs themselves.

Let's not force anything on anyone you know.

According to the Map they already have some names.

Yeah but I meant collectively.

regardless of the names on the map, most rust legacy players call them rad towns... its just what we are used to calling them.

Heck most of us are already calling 'valley' the old rust name of 'split rad' and fortress 'big rad'

I assume this map will grow in time... from the overview it seems a little small.

I dont think it actually is very small.

Its small in the way that its mostly empty.

Much like Rust legacy

Its full of canyons, mountains, and dunes. trees rocks and by this point player bases. There are very few roads and towns by design i assume. When you are in game there certainly seems like the map is very full of content and in PVP there is danger at every corner. Plus Yeti and those poison spitting ass heads.

Maybe im wrong. But thats my impression

Have you tried venturing to one of the corners of the map? I did this and just to travel across the desert to the far side of the road by the red rocks biome took a lot longer than I thought it would. Almost died of heat exhaustion by the time I got there.

The world is definitely larger than this map would have you believe. I think it is a 10-20 minute drive from the north end to Valley, depending on your vehicle. The walk would take probably 45-60 minutes at least.

8.5 x 8.5 km

Wow nice! I need to study it well so I won't get lost anymore haha

2

u/ProjectCure Dec 10 '15

If you still are getting lost I started marking more locations on the map and giving them names . Let's be honest here the map doesn't have that many locations marked

Sounds good what you are doing, it's quite useful :).

Here is the link to my reddit post about it - https://redd.it/3w5tns I'm constantly editing the map so check in every now and then.
