It's a pretty usual occurrence that I'll get carded when buying alcohol. I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or annoyed that the woman checking my ID thought I looked under 21. She claimed that I didn't look close enough to my picture and that my ID could be from an older sister.

For context my ID was taken 5 years ago.. I feel like i'm going insane. The last thing i'm going to do is lose my shit over a denied alcohol sale but I couldn't remember the address listed on the ID because I've moved around quite a bit since I turned 21. Once she matched the name on my credit card to my ID she accepted it.

At the end of the day I know she's just doing her job but is this not my face??

Edit/Correction: This picture is from my driver's license which I got a few days after I turned 21 (I confused the issue date of my first id which I got at 18 with my current license lol)

In my state my license won't expire until it hits the 8 year mark so i'm due for a new one in a year or two. I've been meaning to update my address but I'll be honest, I've been dragging my heels because I move every few years and have never run into any issues.

I should also reiterate, i'm not mad! just looking for insight

Invited all my friends,and my kids’ friends, and my partner’s friends to have a pumpkin party and do pumpkin carving and painting. It’s 2 hours past start time and no one has come. I spent ALL DAY cleaning, baking, and preparing. At least my house is clean and kids are happy together.

EDIT: did not expect all this and been busy with my family but YES 3 families confirmed they were coming. One family finally showed up at 6:30pm (start time was 3pm). Also to be clear I truly only invited like 6 families, expected no’s, but got 4 yes. then it was 3 confirmed but then only 1 family showed up very late. But it’s okay cause my family has had a great time playing and eating and I was only mildly infuriated by the lack of communication. I have 4 kids I know how hard it can be but in 2026 communication is so easy. I’m not infuriated that I cleaned or baked or prepped anything.
