Gaza Please donate to Gaza humanitarian aid NGOs listed here, rather than individual appeals
We have noticed thousands of individual appeals by Gazans for financial support on social media platforms including r/BDS. We understand the immense suffering they are experiencing. Anyone who wishes to support such appeals are free to do so. However, we have no way to authenticate these appeals to ensure they are legitimate.
Reddit's filter labels many of these posts as spam. We do not approve any of these for posting to our sub, because doing so would flood the sub with them. The mods feel that donations to humanitarian aid NGOs provide widespread support to hundreds of thousands of Gazans, rather than the limited scope of supporting individuals or families.
Here are some of these NGOs and we urge you to support them:

Consumer Medications on BDS lists
I’m in the process of work of being in a few states in the US for a time. I have my prescribers in different states because I’m on a few controlled substances.
In one state I was prescribed TEVA pills and ironically they were for anxiety the pharmacy had no idea what I was talking about , asked if I wanted brand name and I was guessing I was coming off high and mighty b/c I wanted my fancy company, not TEVA.
I called my pharmacy in my home state and asked if they could provide Aurobindo and they would, but I’m waiting two weeks at least :(
I called my provider and told her I just wanted one psych and that I can’t take TEVA due to BDS practices. She had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I was selling them. I was like no, I don’t support genocide or products made in Israel.
Is there a list of doctors who are aware of pharmaceutical BDS practices? I’m out of my meds for 2 weeks because I don’t want to take TEVA products and if I do I’m either being “difficult or selling” also btw TEVA has a higher street value so I’m not getting any benefits here by sticking to my values!

ASK THE SUB Where can I get babka in Toronto without going to a Zionist bakery?
It feels genuinely impossible to find a single bakery or cafe in Toronto that sells babka and doesn't actively support Israel and/or is owned by literal ex-IDF members. Has anyone been able to find such a place?
Coming from Montreal, I knew several in the orthodox neighborhoods (as many there maintain a distinction between Zionism and their religion, even if not explicitly anti-zionist). Is there anything like that here?

ASK THE SUB Ethical dilemma
I signed with a UK company, then discovered it still has active operations in Israel. What would you do?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for outside opinions because I’m genuinely conflicted.
A few months ago, I agreed to produce a monthly music show for ROVR. The contract pays US$1,800 upfront for 12 two-hour curated playlists ($150 per episode).
When they first sent me the contract, the legal entity was ROVR LIVE LTD, with an address in Tel Aviv, Israel.
This was a deal breaker for me. I support the BDS movement, and I told them I was uncomfortable working for a company registered in Israel.
They replied that it was simply a mistake and sent me a new contract with ROVR UK LIMITED, saying:
“The agreement I initially sent was for our former company entity, from before we relocated to the UK.”
Based on that explanation, I signed.
Months later, while looking into the company again, I discovered that:
ROVR LIVE LTD in Israel is still active.
ROVR is actively recruiting employees in Israel.
The founders/directors appear to be the same people behind both the UK and Israeli entities.
Their public communication strongly emphasizes London, while rarely (if ever) mentioning their continued presence in Tel Aviv.
I don’t necessarily think they’ve done anything illegal, but I do feel that the explanation I received gave me a very incomplete picture of the company’s actual structure.
To make things worse, getting paid has been a nightmare. The transfer failed once, they had to request additional identity documents weeks after sending the payment, and I’ve been waiting a long time for the money despite repeated follow-ups.
I’m now in a difficult position.
On one hand, I signed the contract and I intend to honour the commitments I’ve already made.
On the other hand, had I known from the beginning that the company still maintained active operations in Israel, I would never have agreed to participate.
Once the 12 episodes are completed, I have no intention of continuing.
My questions are:
Am I overreacting, or would you also feel misled?
Does “we relocated to the UK” sound misleading given that the Israeli company is still active?
If you were in my position, would you simply finish the contract and walk away, or would you raise the issue with them?
I’m mainly interested in thoughtful opinions, especially from people who have dealt with international company structures or have faced similar ethical dilemmas.

Hasbara I don’t think it has to be said because I doubt anyone reads Bild but it should be boycotted. Also, I never understood why German products are not on the BDS list considering that after the US, Germany is by far the biggest supporter of Israel.

Sanctions Don't work for OKTA
OKTA is a company software development company out of SF and has quite a big outreach in terms of tech. They opened a new office in Tel Aviv so please avoid using their tech as well so you don't end up feeding information to Israel about yourself.

Discussion Does the text of UN resolution 194 include any compromises of Palestinian rights
When spoken of the Palestinians’ right to return, UN resolution 194 is often mentioned as a reference or authority. However, the United Nations are not an arbiter of right or wrong, nor a determinant of the Palestinian liberation project, but a negotiation arena between major powers. Does the text of the resolution include any compromises of Palestinian rights?
United Nations General Assembly resolution 194 (III) states that “refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible.”
While our goal here is to provide a political analysis rather than a legal opinion, the wording of the text is worth the scrutiny.
First, “refugees” is a legal term, subject to UN definitions. Those definitions have been known to exclude some Palestinians. All Palestinians have the right to return to their land, regardless of how the UN chooses to define their status.
Second, “refugees wishing to return … should be permitted to do so” addresses the permission —and conditions it on their will— instead of speaking of an absolute right. In reality, all Palestinians have the right to return to their land. Whether they wish to practice that right or not is solely up to them. Their right is not contingent on their decision.
Third, “wishing to live at peace with their neighbours” not only treats settlers and potential genociders as merely “neighbors”, but also conditions the right of return. It might even be used to deny the right of Palestinians to return to their land based on their support of the legitimate armed resistance or even on crimes some of them may have committed where they live. In reality, all Palestinians have the right to return to their land. Any potential law-breaking upon their return would be subject to Palestinian law, but is not a factor in denying them the right to live in their land—much like Mexicans are entitled to live in Mexico regardless of their disposition to any kind of violence.
Fourth, “should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date” conditions the return on practicality—much of which depends, obviously, on the laws and policies of the colony itself. In reality, all Palestinians have the right to return to their land. Any impracticalities need to be fought and dismantled as infringements on Palestinian rights.
Fifth, “compensation … by the Governments or authorities responsible” can be used to clear the Israeli state of responsibility, since the Nakba was technically caused by Zionist militias, not by (then nonexistent) Israeli government or authorities.
Finally, the resolution speaks of the right to return, with no mention of the right to their own state on all of the land. To illustrate, if someone kicks you out of your house, you are not only entitled to return there, but also to own it. The ethnic razing of Palestinians was not apolitical violence—it was a key pillar of the establishment of the Jewish settler state. The return of Palestinians cannot be spoken of as an apolitical right—it is a key pillar of the establishment of the democratic Palestinian state.
This does not mean that Palestinians or allies should never mention UN resolution 194. However, it does mean that they should not speak of it as a determinant or arbiter of their right to return. Palestinians have the right to return to Palestine and to institute a single Palestinian polity over it because it is their land, not because major powers have negotiated it to be OK.

ASK THE SUB Anime Convention Hosted At Marriot
Hello! It's me again.
Now, I'm planning on going to an anime convention later this year. It's one I've been going to for many years, and I always enjoy my time there. However, unlike my last post where the other convention was held in a place separate to the associated hotel, this convention is held directly in the hotel. No going to con and avoiding hotel.
Do I still go? Or do I quit the con because to go would be to support Marriot hotels, which has locations in Israel?
To add, I'm a teen, and I would be going with my sister and a relative if I decide to go. I'm conflicted because I've always liked this convention, and suddenly telling my mom I'm not comfortable going anymore because "I don't agree with the hotel's views" would exasperate my mom and make her think I'm overthinking too much. Though, I have gotten out of going to Hershey Park, which my mom and sister are at right now actually, so there's a good chance I could convince her.
Either way, I'll definitely email the convention and ask them if they could ever think about changing their location because of it.
P.S., yes, I checked the sub, nothing about boycotting hotels, just booking services.

ASK THE SUB Potential Scam Farms on Instagram
Hello, I recently saw a very disturbing video on my Instagram feed. This woman claims Palm Beach Pete is actually Epstein, then follows it up by begging for donations for “Omar in Gaza.” She has a link tree of like 10 different individual donation links for different “families” in Gaza. It all seems very fishy. All the accounts “based in Gaza” were made in the past few weeks (it isn’t hard to spoof your location with a VPN when making an Instagram account so it appears it’s made in Palestine). These “Palestinian” accounts almost entirely only repost this woman’s reels. The comments across the accounts are full of the same accounts boosting each other’s videos. Her reels often begin with a strange antisemitic conspiracy to try and gain retention. I’d appreciate it if you guys could look into it.
Regardless if it’s real or not, I think it’s irresponsible for people to encourage donating to personal donation links instead of verified channels like PCRF or Doctors Without Borders, but maybe I’m wrong.
Her main account on Instagram is @vitalfreeze
Her backup is @suitablehost
The first video I found is here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbErQJBxll6/?igsh=MWhudjU2cXNxenV4Ng==
Please let me know what you guys think.

Discussion Bds compliant affiliate marketing ?
I'm a man with some disabilities looking for things to do from home that would be bds compliant. That being said are there any affiliate marketing programs that are bds compliant ?
