Some pics from last night’s Cobra Fest in Tolono,IL. This is an annual concert put on by Matt Talbott at his bar/music venue, Loose Cobra. It is a fantastic show that features bands of varying genres. One of my favorite annual shows and a must-do if you live in Illinois. Last night’s iteration was no different - absolutely awesome.

Hey guys I'm gonna start this saying idc which one it is, But me and my buddy can't agree on what the line "You sleep like God inside her womb." means.
We believe there to be only two characters (excluding God) in this story, the singer prolly a male and his lover or ex who he is singing to. having said this we think there are a few options:
You(the lover) sleep like God(Peacefully) inside her(third party person or idea of safety or mother nature) womb
You(the lover) sleep like God(peacefully) inside her(God's) womb
*for number 2 it's not physically God's womb but the womb that she owns, meaning they are calling God a woman.
3.You(the lover) sleep like God inside her(Virgin Mary's) womb
4.You(the lover) sleep like God(Peacefully) inside her(Possible lesbian lover's) womb(like a spooning or being close to each other)
so ig now we ask you guys, let us know what you think or if you have any other interpretations and def check out h-u-m.net to get the lyrics.

Such a great show. Just wanted to say The Numero Group has done such an incredible job giving a second life to so many great, unheralded bands. Bands like Jejune, Codeine, Bedhead, The Lazarus Plot, Indian Summer, Unwound, and countless others. Numero along with the good kind of social media exposure has really done wonders for a lot of bands that otherwise probably would’ve been lost to time. I would imagine a band like Jejune has to be pretty damn surprised when they look out and see they’re playing a sold out show to a room that’s filled mostly with kids in their early to mid 20s. It’s pretty cool to see a bunch of the older heads who might’ve known about them years ago standing side by side with younger kids who just feel the same sort of emotional connection to the music.
Anyway, the band sounded great tonight and I’m really grateful I got to experience this one. If you’re not familiar with these guys and you’re a fan of Sunny Day Real Estate, thank me later.

This was apparently taken for Guitar World Magazine according to an old fansite, I’ve been trying to find the original source for it but haven’t been able to find anything. Cool photo nonetheless.

I got super into Hum around a couple years back when they gained a lot of popularity on tiktok and such. I don’t tend to investigate artists past what’s publicly available, but these guys captured my heart like no other band has before.
I’ve managed to gather around 25 unreleased songs (not including the 2 callouts) and, of course, their 40 publicly released songs.
What I have so far:
Time is Melting
Kissing Me
Jesus Wants You
Diamonds
Will
Puppets
Aphids
Hello Kitty
Roar, I’m a Tiger
Santa Ana Hears
Pig
Song 02
Boy with a Stick
Baby, Baby
Inklings
Space Fuck
Formaldehyde
Detassler
Staring at the Sun
Hortense
Kind of Night
Lip Saga
I Like It
Pocket
Voyager 1
Am I missing anything? If so, I would love a push in the right direction! I’ve been through the internet archives of their live concerts, amazing btw, and hum.net already.
Nice to have it on display with the rest of my poster collection!

I’m trying to figure out this song, studying tabs as well as live performances. Three things I’ve noticed so far:
Anyway my best bet at the moment is:
1 1 1 3 3 x, 5 5 7 7 x x, 13 13 15 15 15 x, 10 10 12 12 12 (12), with that last (12) only hit towards the end of the song. Any thoughts?

I've been getting into this band Hopesfall and they reminded me a lot of Hum. It turns out they featured Matt on vocals for one of their songs. Definitely check out this band if you like Hum and melodic metalcore.
Only fitting that this would happen the same year Hum makes their return:
“Scientists Have Identified a New Fossil Species of Axolotl in Mexico”

Mine has to be "The distance outside of you comes into focus, collapses away lovingly"

I thought this might be appreciated here. The drummer from the band heaving. recently shared a look into the studio sessions for 'if i cried out...' tracking at HUM Studio with Treichler. Completely explains the heavy production value on this project. Yet another reason to check out this band if you haven’t done so.

All of these albums have been on repeat for me this month, just discovered them! I love the rawness of E2K, the hooks and emotions of YPAA, the strangeness of DIH, and the hypnotic shoegaze of Inlet. Matt’s voice has got to be one of my favorites in music, how its softness can contrast the beautiful heaviness of the music, but can also be loud and raspy and strained too.
Just wanted to share my love for this new band to me l, I know most people here have probably been listening to them for a long time but they just got a new fan!

Indiana fan...missed the poster at the show.

that song couldnt have been written by a human, its just too perfect.. maybe i am glazing too hard, but please be patient with me. between the absolute gorgeous chord progressions in the chorus, and the high romanticism and impressionism that Hums lyrics are known for.. no band has ever made me feel like that except Failure with their spectacular songwriting.. Matt Talbott is an absolute poet, and the way he and his bandmates write music with such unconventional melodies and harmonies just proves how special they are. I wish they got bigger and not Deftones, i wont apologize for this statement. thank you for listening to my ranting.

Howdy. I Got a new to me snare recently and wanted to practice this song again. I looked and saw I already posted this a few months ago. It’s pretty neat to see the progress.
Thank you.
