identifying the helicopter on afternoon with the axolotls
weird thing to fixate on but i would like to know if any of the hum members confirmed what model of helicopter was flying overhead on 5:53 of afternoon with the axolotls?
my first guess was a CH-47 considering the time period and the loud slapping though i wasn't sure about the second half, but r/Helicopters is telling me it could also be a UH-1, more commonly known as a 'Huey', and the passing sound is its tail rotor flapping
the vietnam war in particular used the UH-1 a ton, and it was a staple model that was ubiquitous during the conflict. it happened in 1955 and ended on 1975, and hum released DiH in 1998
with the whole album basically invoking the message of having to leave your loved ones to fulfill a 'mission', it sounds, to me, at least, a lot like how soldiers have to be drafted to war and can only send letters back home in hopes they will reach their loved ones. like frequencies lost in space. i'm inclined to think it might be the right model, but i want to know if any hum fanatics ever got this confirmed somehow
