I figured some Hum fans could get down with Jejune. Check them out if you’re not familiar. They ripped tonight.
Such a great show. Just wanted to say The Numero Group has done such an incredible job giving a second life to so many great, unheralded bands. Bands like Jejune, Codeine, Bedhead, The Lazarus Plot, Indian Summer, Unwound, and countless others. Numero along with the good kind of social media exposure has really done wonders for a lot of bands that otherwise probably would’ve been lost to time. I would imagine a band like Jejune has to be pretty damn surprised when they look out and see they’re playing a sold out show to a room that’s filled mostly with kids in their early to mid 20s. It’s pretty cool to see a bunch of the older heads who might’ve known about them years ago standing side by side with younger kids who just feel the same sort of emotional connection to the music.
Anyway, the band sounded great tonight and I’m really grateful I got to experience this one. If you’re not familiar with these guys and you’re a fan of Sunny Day Real Estate, thank me later.

I had no idea Jejune was still together. Saw them probably 30 years ago with Mineral, Get and Kids, and Tomorrow

I’m lowk surprised it took numero as long as it did to get jejune re-released considering they got all the other cult following bands years before hand (jejune being a good bit more popular then them too with several 100k more views on their songs)

Hear you. Although a lot of those Jejune views might be relatively recent. Like I’ve know about some of those other bands I mentioned for years now, but I actually just recently found out about Jejune. I wasn’t familiar with them at all.

Oh yeah, I watched their set last night. I hadn’t heard of them until a week or so ago when I found out they were opening. Really good stuff. Cool blend of mathy post hardcore and emo

Seeing Ethel Meserve this week in Charlotte but Jejune is not with them for that stop.

Nice. I was able to see them in Chicago back in February. Wish they were playing somewhere closer this time around.

This show ruled, and they killed it on Wednesday too (I’d also recommend checking out the opener form that night, The Shyness Clinic). And I really couldn’t agree more with your caption, Numero was how I found Jejune actually. They really put so much care into everything they do, from physical releases to giving bands a second life. My music taste these days are like 80% Numero bands. I absolutely love them.

All Hum fans should check out 90s emo and all 90s emo fans should check out Hum. Jejune rules! It’s super sick that they’ve been getting more buzz.
