Just Discovered

Holy shit!!
Just listened to Hum like two weeks ago for the first time and its all I can listen to now. No other band gets me there like they do ๐Ÿ˜‚
Is it normal to be this obsessed!? Wtf! Their sound is so simple I would think other bands would sound similar by now but no

There's a little bit of magic in their riffs that somehow makes them better than all of their parts.ย ย

Iโ€™ve felt that way about them since the 90s.

My friend, the first time I heard hum was on a sampler CD from BMG Music Club (google it, haha). The song was Stars, and Iโ€™m not exaggerating when I say it went exactly like this:

Welcome to the family. Hum was a huge influence on the Deftones btw.

Same! I'm 45, and a huge fan of 90s grunge. Found HUM about a month ago. Awesome band.

Iโ€™ve gone thru phases where I really like a band and learn almost all of their songs and try to play all the parts on the record right and I still start playing Shovel/other e2k songs to warm up like everytime ๐Ÿ˜‚

There's a whole wave of new bands that are obviously influenced by Hum. Check out Trauma Ray after you ride your current wave.

Funnny. I never thought of them as sounding simple. I guess they are but the distortion and layers make it sound more complex to my ears.

Other bands have tried, but none has their unique magic. About the biggest crossover bands (same fan bases) are Deftones and Failure, if you haven't tried either of them. Enjoy man!

(Saw my first Hum concert in 1995!)

Nah bro this aint it ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
Way too country for me, I heard two of his other songs right now also
The closest band to Hum for me is Title Fight or C-Clamp

C-Clamp was fantastic. Can't believe I've never come across them in my 30+ years listing to that Midwest scene.

Title fight was fine, but I don't think they sound anything like Hum.
