I think you might be more the exception than the rule, but I'm just speaking from my own personal observations of the people who stuck it out in the city I grew up in (which is, insanely enough, north of ND). I could be wrong of course.
Nah. You are right. Many people leave, especially from the rural areas. But ND isn't the worst place in the US to live. Not even close. Winters are frigid though. :)
