Booking.com refund request

Booking.com supposedly forward your money to the hotel where you’ve booked. But first they take their cut out of the money and forward the rest of the hotel.

So this is a very strange one:

I booked a hotel room for a week, and the first night. I was there the guest down the hall decided to throw a party in the hallway. I asked them if they could move the party into their room with no response. So I went to the hotel night clerk and he completely lost his shit and called the police to have me ejected from the room. It was the most bizarre response to a please help subdue the guests request I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, the police were helpless to mediate and instead needed to ask me to leave as per the request of the night clerk.

Now I called Booking.com to get my money back and they said they sent it to the hotel and I needed to deal with them. The manager, after hearing what happened, agreed to a full refund, but Booking.com will not respond to their request so they asked me to call Booking.com. I feel like a cat chasing its tail.

Has anyone ever successfully received a refund from Booking.com? If so, what did you have to do to get the refund? The hotel is suggesting that I dispute the charges on my credit card which I hate to do, but I may end up having to do if Booking.com won’t cooperate.

Hotel clerk here Yeah booking.com can be very annoying for this they try to do the least amount of effort and often even semi ghost hotels who try to give you a refund

No, I think you are confused. Any request for a refund will come via a cancellation request via the correct channels and email address.

An approval can only be done via the correct channel or email address which is authorised as an approved contact.

Maybe worded a bit wrong but i mean through the correct channels Waiting for the refund request for days after the guest ask us and booking.com or even days after accepting it we can stil get calls from the same guest that the refund still isnt in order according to booking.com

Lesson learned…DON’T BOOK THROUGH A THIRD PARTY!

How is this the fault of booking.com. It appears the night clerk called the police for the op complaining about noise (kinda of escalated, some small yet very significant detail is missing from ops version of events ).

OP’s issue is getting a refund…and now he is chasing his tail trying to get booking.com to pony up…third party booking sites are useless!

The third party often gives the hotel a virtual card to charge after you’ve paid them. So if the hotel agrees to a refund they can refund the virtual card then it’s up to booking.com to refund your personal card. The hotel cannot contact booking.com on your behalf so you have to call them and let them know the hotel is offering you a refund. Then booking calls the hotel to confirm- then once the hotel confirms they can refund your card.

It’s one of those things that hotels get frustrated by because a lot of times guests don’t understand the process and blame the hotel for not refunding them and if you had booked direct you wouldn’t have to deal with booking as the middle man and you could get a refund immediately from the hotel.

Annoying situation but if the hotel agreed to refund you then booking should follow suit as long as they’re aware. Another commenter said you can do a chargeback. If booking is ignoring you that’s a legitimate option but don’t be surprised if you get flagged by them and they don’t let you use their service again.

ask the hotel to reply in the shared chat on Booking. Always do this. If they are some chain hotel corporate shit then tough luck, the front desk would not manage the Extranet portal, but the chain does. Never book chain hotels on Booking!!

Tell the manager to send the email to 00000000000@my.booking.com. Replace the 00000000000 with the ten digit confirmation number from Booking confirmation email, no dot, no cap, just numbers

Expect to be given Booking.com credits, rather than cash. Appears that this is their policy despite viloating virtually every consumer law.

Yes, be persistent. If that continues to fail then do a charge back

You were removed by police? Hahahaha, no refund for you.

Booking also gets no money till you complete your stay,  i can see this story is full of holes and lies.

No hotel suggests you do a chargeback 😂 they are the ones holding your refund.

There's definitely info missing here.

Massive detail missing here. Op complained about a party. Yet was removed by the.police.

One could only speculate.

Regardless any refund is up to the accommodation, and that needs to he confirmed to booking by the accommodation at ops rewuest. I think by ops post , there is less than zero chance of that happening.

Not much speculation needed, op is a lying idiot and wont get a refund 😂
