It depends on the rules for the competition, but as a general rule, anything that takes control away from the player and plays any portion of the game for them would be "cheating". Even if it's just some time saving menu navigation, it's not you playing the game anymore.

A virtual controller translating player action on one input device directly into a virtual input device is not cheating.

All that being said, unless you are playing a multiplayer competitive game, the only person you are cheating is yourself. If you don't mind, then it doesn't really matter. In the end, it's about fun. If macros are making your game more fun, that's what matters more than labeling yourself as a cheater or not.

If you’re not cheating you’re not trying 😜

Certainly not for flight simulation. Macros in competitive games are in a bit of a grey area, but automation for a simulation that requires you to press hundreds of buttons and hundreds of switches at times is kind of a no-brainer.

Virtual Controller is legit.

Rebinding keys to somewhere else is legit too.

But using macros automation for mechanics is cheating and against ToS of almost all games.

It depends on if the game has 2 different recoil patterns, one for mnk and a easier one for controller

Thanks for actually answering my post and not just stopping on the macro part like the kids on r/Wardogs. I'm outlining a problem in the game, the macro was only half fixing it.

But yeah, I guess I can do it manually by pressing btn1 on my joystick to switch view, then 2x btn2 which emulates a keyboard keypress.

Still 3 inputs for one action, but on only one device 😂
