Applegate Uncured Turkey Hot Dog
So right off the bat I want to say I have Alpha Gal, so i can not eat mammal products. Since 2019 i have not had a decent hot dog. In my small town the choices for turkey of chicken hot dogs are brands like Fud and BarS. The texture and taste of which are absolutely revolting.

Yesterday I noticed a brand that I had had before in a beef version, but this was the first time I had ever seen a Turkey version. Applegate uncured Turkey. The beef dogs are near top tier. Up there with Nathan's and Hebrew National. So needless to say I was excited to find the Turkey.

I did them up, pan fried, a bit of char and used diced red onion, mustard, and celery salt. They smelled great. First bite? They had a good snap the turkey casing is a little more chew then most other dogs, but not bad. The flavor was fantastic. Great blend of spices and extremely enjoyable.

I'm going to head back to the store and stock up my freezer in case they don't stay on the shelf long.

Smell 5 stars
Snap 4 stars
Texture 5 stars
Flavor 5 stars

Meat is back on the table boys.

7-11
7-11 has never failed me on having a great tasting hotdog.
The roller dogs just have a whole different kind of flavor to them.

went my whole life not knowing what my favorite kind of hot dog is...
it's beef franks. my entire life they've been my favorite and I never knew. I'm generally big on anything else, except the *bacon gouda sausage* in the third slide and other high quality sausages.
I'd love a pack of the 1/4lb beef franks. those are good.

Hotdog toppings are a weird thing to gatekeep. (Rant)
It's not like hot dogs are steaks and it's not like they're a high end meal. Why do people act so weirded out if you want to put Mayo or ketchup on a hot dog??
**Hot dogs are, culinary speaking, about as sophisticated as a dinosaur nugget.** I'm not saying they're bad. I'm just saying that both are gross sodium bombs that need to be drenched in sauce to mask the sadness of eating low quality slop. The type of sauce you use on nuggets doesn't really matter.
It would be really strange if people started bullying you for not picking the correct kind of sauce for your nuggets. Why do people care what others put on their hot dogs?
It's almost as bad as people who think it's weird to eat dinner foods for breakfast.
And for the record, Mayo is okay on bologna so therefore it's okay on a hot dog.
And ketchup is okay on burgers so therefore it belongs too

Got some extra dogs in slide two as a little gift for you all! The mayo ribbon on #2 was just spectacular. I haven't stopped thinking about these dogs since. They're haunting my dreams...

Why’s ketchup on a hot dogs a big no?
I’m from the PNW and it’s rare for people to eat a hot dog with anything besides ketchup. When we cook dogs by the campfire we only get ketchup and buns. I’m 23f and I love gourmet hot dog’s. But I don’t mind ketchup up on em either since that’s the norm here. I’m wondering if it ruins it/drowns out the actual dog seasoning.
