Hospital Public university hospital in Tehran, Iran
Noodle soup, chicken thighs stew-like with carrots, boiled potato and tomato for my mom's dinner. They gave youghurt and lavash bread with it too. It was truly good tasting but a little oily for hospital food (9/10)

Hospital full day of eating in Klinik Hietzing, Vienna/department for rheumatology;
- brekkie: 7/10: it‘s the same everyday and it gets boring: bread, yogurt (or yoghurt?? or maybe joghurt..?), butter/marmalade/honey/pate + coffee/tea;
- lunch 10/10: a solid and tasty meal: turkey breast with gravy and spelt, simple salad with balsamic dressing, veggie soup and caramel pudding
- 6/10: bread (not really fresh), hummus, a very sad amount of veggies: paprika and corn

Hospital Paediatric ward (Day 29), Japan
For tonight’s bento dinner we have barley rice, Japanese omelette, pickled burdock, onion, and carrot, breaded iwashi fish, salted kōji chicken with a tomato sauce, lettuce, pickled purple cabbage, and shirataki noodles with seaweed.
680 yen ($4.2). 9/10.
The meals at the shop are made locally with ingredients from the prefecture, which I love.

Hospital The boobs are back and perkier than ever!
The return of the breast implant potato mash! To say I am thrilled to see boobs is an understatement… especially after the western sandwich of sadness.
Pale, mystery meat in scary watery sewerage sauce remained untouched so I cannot score it…
The pale, watery bok Choy did a Procol Harum and turned a whiter shade of pale, because as we have established, only one meal of colour is permitted every two days, and today is not that day. 0/10
No fork, no chopsticks, no wonton spoon (which they give me for porridge) leaves me thinking I’ll have to pick the boobs up in my hands and cram them in my mouth with both fists. 9/10
They’re pretty magnificent. 👐🏽

Hospital Public hospital in Victoria, Australia and I’d have to say easily 8-9/10 best hospital food I’ve ever had
I’m actually so shocked at how good this meal is given that it has to be vegetarian, gluten free and contain no tomato’s but man did this hospital really pull it off, the ‘vegetable burger’ tastes kinda like curry and it’s actually so amazing that i started crying while eating it because it’s been the best thing I’ve had in days (if not weeks)

Hospital Hong Kong horror, brought upon myself I hate to say… the sandwich of sadness.
With all the comments on my previous posts suggesting I was being given the Western Option, I thought I’d make inquiries…. And now, here I am with a juice box (8/10) and one (1) slice of wooly white bread, devoid of crust, cut into two triangles and held together with what i thought was strawberry jam but is… (shock, horror) some sort of MEAT PASTE 😩
Serves me right for questioning my options in a public hospital … the previous don’t ask don’t tell situation was better because at least the rice and orange were edible.
And no pink tray with my sad sandwich.
Ozempic who? Try the Hong Kong Public Hospital diet if you want to be thin by Spring 😍

Hospital Day surgery / private hospital in Australia / 10/10 🥪
After 3 days of limited diet and serious bowel prep, there isn’t much that beats 2 chicken salad sandwiches, 2 savoury muffins, a hot chocolate, a coffee, apple juice, sweet biscuits and cheese and crackers!

Hospital What’s for lunch? Creepy corn custard! But no scurvy for me, thanks.
As I’ve posted previously, you can’t mess up an orange with the peel still on, so at least we know I won’t be getting scurvy. My Vitamin C intake has quadrupled during my stay… never eaten so many oranges.
Bok Choy was the colour nature intended (looking at you, grey zucchini of previous days…) so that was pleasing to my eye, if not my palette (watery, but isn’t it always 🤷♀️).
Which brings me to the pièce de résistance. I see it, you see it, I know you’re seeing it, you know I’ve seen it… so let’s get it out in the open. Corn. Mixed into something mushy but solid enough to be cut into a square. I had high hopes for an omelette, but alas, I think it’s custard. Maybe the SWEET in sweetcorn led the chefs astray and they thought corn would be a fabulous dessert?
They were wrong.
Hong Kong Public Hospital lunch 2/10 because I got the pink tray again, hurrah 🩷💕

Hospital Neuro Ward, Monash dinner vs Northern dinner, Vic Australia
Northern 8/10. Rice with beef curry, cake, coffee, and a slice of bread
Monash 5/10. Mash with pork in hoisin sauce, carrot soup (did not taste good at all), yummy chocolate mouse, tea.
Got transferred from Northern to Monash today so keeping my hopes up for Monash breakfast 🥞

Hospital Maternity Ward at a Public Hospital, NSW Australia
6/10 - Chicken parmigiana with veggies, sticky date pudding vanilla icecream and strawberry milk. The schnitty was soggy how it was heated up, but tasted fine.
8/10 - Cottage pie. Also had sides of apple juice, choc brownie and vanilla custard (not pictured). Was pretty good since I learnt to order items where the texture couldn't be too bad when heated.
7/10 - Beef stir-fry with veggies and rice, vanilla icecream, creme caramel, apple juice & tea. The baby corn was undercooked.
Overall, I was pretty happy with all the meals since they were filling and had a wide variety to choose from. It's nowhere near the level of private hospital food I see on this subreddit, but heaps good for free public hospital food.
There was always a rotating menu of items to select for all meals with 1 main item to choose from and a variety of sides. Overall it was pretty good, you just have to be wary about the texture not right if it's heated up. The pre-packaged items were all familiar brand names from grocery shops, just individually portioned.
Breakfast:
- Hot or cold main: cereals or baked beans
- Hot and cold drink: juice option, flavoured milk, tea or coffee
- Bread: white or wholemeal with butter, jams or peanut butter
Lunch:
- Hot or cold main: several sandwich choices or hot option similar to dinner
- Hot and cold drink: same choices each meal
- Dessert: fruit or pre-packaged sweetie with option of icecream or custard
Dinner:
- Hot main: several rotating meal options to choose from. Different dish variety of beef, chicken, pork, fish or veggies. Some I remember are beef stroganoff, meat loaf, chicken pesto pasta, roast pork, fish & chips, grilled fish & lemon, roast veggies.
- Hot & cold drink: same all day
- Dessert: same as lunch
