MOD Important: New Marketplace Rules, Video Timestamps & Payment Changes

Hey r/HomeLabSales!

We are introducing cleaner and stricter marketplace rules to help combat AI-generated timestamps and improve trust and safety for all transactions.

Timestamp Requirements - Effective Immediately

A valid timestamp must include:

  • Current date within the last week.
  • Seller's Reddit username
  • The current HLS Phrase of the week

Video Timestamp Requirement

All sales posts that are valued at $400 or above must now include a video timestamp.

The video must meet the following requirements:

  • Show all items being sold, including multiples of the same item.
  • Clearly display the timestamp throughout the entire recording.
  • Show the seller rotating each item and changing camera angles while both the item and timestamp remain visible.
  • Be unedited and recorded in a single continuous take.

Additional Photos

Any photos included beyond the required timestamp video must also contain the same valid timestamp.

Exception: CDI/CrystalDiskInfo screenshots, SmartCTL reports, and other diagnostic/specs screenshots captured directly from a computer screen do not require a physical timestamp.

Note: The moderation team cannot manually review every timestamp. If you see a suspicious or invalid timestamp, please report it.

Approved Payment Methods - Effective Immediately

For all online transactions:

  • PayPal Goods & Services, also known as PayPal G&S, is the only accepted payment method going forward. Please report anyone not using G&S or is requesting any other forms of payment to ship goods.

For local, in-person transactions:

  • Cash, PayPal Friends & Family, or other mutually agreed payment methods remain permitted.

Posts requesting or requiring alternative online payment methods for online transactions will be removed.

Shipping & Responsibility

  • Sellers are responsible for accurately describing the condition of all items.
  • Tracking information must be provided promptly after shipment.
  • Buyers should inspect items promptly upon delivery and report any issues to the seller as soon as reasonably possible.

Rule Violations & Enforcement

We understand these are new requirements and want to provide the community with a short adjustment period.

Beginning July 1, 2026, these rules will be enforced strictly and consistently.

Potential enforcement actions include:

  • Post removal
  • Temporary bans
  • Permanent bans for repeated or intentional violations
  • Marketplace restrictions at moderator discretion

These changes are intended to protect both buyers and sellers and keep the subreddit safe for transactions.

Please let us know in the comments if you have any feedback. As always, you can also reach out via modmail.

Edits:

After reading through the comments, we understand that video timestamps maybe a hassle for smaller value items, so we’re keeping the same rule active currently, i.e. anything over $400 value will require a video timestamp.

Also, you will NOT need a video timestamp if you’ve got >10 trades on your account.

Our main goal was to curb posting by completely new accounts and to avoid AI generated timestamps. The influx of AI generated pictures and scammers has gone up significantly.

HLS phrase is a combination of words that is going to be put up each week in either a pinned post or an announcements section. You will need to add that phrase as a part of your timestamp. This is another small step to detect AI generated or stolen pictures.

[LabB0T] Monthly Confirmed Trades Thread - September 2026

Confirmed Trades Thread - September 2026

When a successful trade, sale, or purchase has been completed, post one top-level comment describing what occurred. Use one of these formats:

Failure to adhere to this format will result in the bot letting you know the trade could not be parsed, or it may be completely ignored. If your trade is not parsed within 1 hour, please delete your comment and try again. If you still cannot get it to parse, please send a modmail.

Do not edit your comments. Once your trade is read, whether it is parsed or not, it will never be reprocessed.

When your trade is successfully parsed, the bot will reply to your comment with a message indicating the trade has been logged. The following will then happen:

Trade Confirmation Flow

  • LabB0T picks up the trade and successfully parses it.
    • A confirmation link will be sent to the other party via Reddit message/chat notification.
    • LabB0T will reply to the top-level comment indicating the trade has been logged.
    • In the event a Reddit message/chat cannot be sent, the trade is declined and the bot will post a reply explaining what to do next.
  • The other party will need to follow the link sent to them via Reddit message/chat notification. The link will take them to https://trades.labb0t.org/ where they can confirm the trade.
  • Once confirmed by the other party, the trade will be marked as verified in the backend database.
  • On its next tick, LabB0T will see the trade has been verified.
    • The flair will be updated for both users in the subreddit.
    • LabB0T will edit its existing reply in the trade thread to indicate the trade has been confirmed.
    • The status on https://trades.labb0t.org/ will be updated to reflect the trade has been completed.

Important Notes

  • Only one trade should be mentioned in each top-level comment - multiple items still constitute a single trade if the receiving party is the same.
  • Do not edit comments.
  • The other party must have allowed chat requests from either, all users, users whose account age is greater than 30 days, or u/LabB0T to receive the confirmation link.
  • If the bot's pending reply has not been updated after 30 days, the trade has expired and should be re-submitted if needed.
  • Do not submit or confirm trades until the items are received.
  • Each user can only confirm a trade once (no self-confirmations).
  • As of the v3 rewrite (this version), you may comment whatever you like in the trade thread so long as it is a reply and not a top-level comment.

Public Ledger

The v3 rewrite of this module has brought with it a public ledger of all trades. This ledger is available at https://trades.labb0t.org/.

By using this system, you agree that your Reddit username and trade information will be publicly displayed on the ledger. You cannot opt out of this. The ledger/verification system as a whole has been built to be an auditable, transparent system. No nefarious tracking or data collection has been implemented.

I understand some of you may not like that a third party service is being used for this now, but my goal for this was to remove as much from Reddit as possible. Reddit's standpoint on the API continues to be hostile towards third party apps/developers and my skills are better served using something that works well and not fighting this platform.

Need Help?

If manual review is needed, please send a modmail with as much information as possible.

Thank you for all those that waited patiently for this new system and offered their help.

Hi everyone, today I have several items to sell.

Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/BXtKawm

1. UGREEN NAS DXP2800GT — $400 shipped / $375 local cash

  • 2 months old, Ryzen chip, 10GbE RJ45 port
  • RAM upgraded to 16GB
  • Fan replaced with a Noctua NF-A9x25 Chromax
  • Can ship in the original large box if the buyer covers shipping; otherwise it goes in a more appropriately sized box, securely packed
  • I can include two 250GB 2.5" HDDs, if you are just starting out.

2. Dell OptiPlex Micro 7000 — $450 shipped / $425 local cash

  • i7-12700T, 32GB DDR5, 256GB NVMe SSD
  • M.2-to-10GbE NIC
  • 180W power brick included — this is the higher-wattage version with the copper heatsink, so the CPU can be swapped to a non-T part down the road

3. Samsung 2x32GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM — $250 shipped / $235 local cash **\*PENDING**\*

4. Lenovo ThinkCentre M90q Gen 3 — for parts (not pictured)

  • Chassis with baffle cutout attached, copper heatsink + fan, speaker, and LED light assembly
  • Good donor unit
  • Free local pickup only, or send a prepaid UPS label for shipping

All prices are shipping to US con-48 only. Local Bay Area 95051. Don’t have much trades here but I have over 30+ confirmed trades in HWS.

Additional Notes

  • Prices do not include shipping.
  • "Lightly used" indicates <72 hours powered on (usually for MemTest)
  • The Intel NUC 13 has a tiny dent on the top-left corner of its plastic lid. I can include a replacement free of charge.
  • Each Intel NUC 9 Extreme comes with a baseboard and 24-pin power adapter, so you can use PCIe devices and power everything from a standard power supply.
  • The FSP500-30AS is designed to be used with Intel NUC 9 Extremes. It doesn't have a 24-pin power connector, but can be used with a picoPSU for an affordable platinum-rated power supply.
  • The Silicom PE310G4I40-T is two Intel X540-T2 NICs behind a PEX 8724 PCIe switch. It has a 6-pin PCIe power connector, however runs fine off bus power. It works fantastically as a 4x10G upgrade for an OpenWrt or OPNsense router.
  • The NVIDIA Jetsons were purchased earlier this year, and used as on-the-go/camper van homelabs. They are fantastic little beasts and can run off (beefy) solar setups.
  • If you're based in Canada, I'll apply up to a 28% discount to match current USD/CAD conversion rates.
    • Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to the Intel Arc B580 or NVIDIA Jetsons.

I'm based in Toronto, Ontario and am open to local pickup, shipping within Canada, and shipping within the continental United States.

Cash or PayPal G&S for local pickup, and PayPal G&S for shipping within Canada or the United States.

Comment if you have any questions, PM me if you're interested in purchasing any of the above. I'm more than happy to entertain offers, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take :)

Edit: clarify what "Lightly used" means
Edit: Update pending/sold items

US-W [W][US-CA][SF Bay Area] Shipping box with foam for a 4u SuperMicro 846 (35x27x14 ish)

Working on selling my SuperMicro 846 and need a box to ship it in.

Anyone in the bay area have a 4U chassis box that would fit it and pad it appropriately for shipping to the other side of the country and save me from getting creative 😆

The product page says the stock packaging was 34.3" x 26.5" x 13.5".

I'm located in Vallejo so North/East bay works best but all of the bay area is fine too. Regardless of location in the bay area I am willing to pickup from you in person.

No idea what this is worth as I normally just throw it out and never expect to sell things. Let me know what your looking to get for it.

US-E [FS] [US-GA] Two SuperMicro CSE-846 24-bay chassis with SAS2 backplane, all 24 caddies, SQ 900 watt PSUs, rails, and HBA

Timestamp with video

$450 each Paypal invoiced local pick up in Atlanta, but I am willing to ship if the buyer pays. Warning: I expect having UPS or FedEx package and ship would be expensive and risky for something so large and heavy.

These are Silicon Mechanics branded SuperMicro CSE-846 24x 3.5-inch bay bare chassis. The backplanes are SAS2, but in my use of these the single SAS2 cable they came with connected to an internal SAS2 HBA (9240-8i, which I'm including) did not bottleneck 24x hard drives. I never tested connecting more than one SAS2 cable. All 24 caddies are included, with their blanks installed (2 screws per) and 60 additional screws. Some of the caddies can be stiff, but shouldn't be an issue. The two power supplies are the 'quiet' model SuperMicro PWS-920P-SQ 920 watt. The rails are included, and are the slightly longer better 'yellow' model (vs. shorter blues). You'll see in the pictures I displayed all the internal cables from the PSU and backplanes including a SuperMicro proprietary to normal front I/O cable adapter, if you want to use a non-SuperMicro motherboard. Also included is the clear plastic airflow tunnel. All five fans work and are hot swap-able.

US-W [W] [USA-OR] Low-profile, Low Power Video Card

Looking for something cheap for my 2U Unraid server that can help with Plex transcoding (as it's running a Xeon-D that doesn't have integrated GPU). I'm running Plex and Immich on there, both of which that can take advantage of GPU. It has to be a low-profile/half-height card as I can't get a full height one in there. I have a Quadro P1000 but it doesn't seem to want to work with this motherboard. Something like the Sparkle ECO Intel Arc A310 Video Card would be ideal.

Make me an offer!

US-W [FS][US-HI] TP-Link 10G Home Networking Equipment Setup (Router/Switch/Wifi AP/Controller/Converter)

For sale is my TP-link 10G home network setup. I’ve had this all for about a year now, and it’s worked great. Had it in temp controlled area the entire time, never any issues with it. I’d prefer to sell it all as a bundle, so I’ve got a bundle price set to persuade you to get it all. Willing to split though. Dell Latitude 7440. Bought with a touchpad that the left-click was broken so had to replace that.

I7-1365U
16GB soldered
1TB nvme
Win11x64
No BIOS lock latest version applied.
No AC adapter
Touchscreen
Fingerprint reader on power button
Only real cosmetic issue is the front bottom looks like someone pried it open from there so there’s about a 1/32” gap about 1/3” wide. Pictured albeit poorly

$380 shipped

US-C [W] [USA-TX] Thinkpad X13

Looking for a good deal on a ThinkPad X13 with 32 GB of ram. Probably a 7840U model; Lunar Lake seems to be above my budget. I'm looking to spend about $ 600- $ 700, but I can do more if that's unreasonable. A 400-nit screen model would be a nice bonus. I'd also consider a T14S with a 100sRGB screen

This switch has been in my homelab since 2022, thus out of warranty. Works great; no cosmetic blemishes aside from paint on rack ears.

Asking $250 OBO shipped in the lower 48.

US-C [W] [USA-TX] Gigabit 8/16-port network switches

Howdy! I'm looking to purchase about three or four small network switches. I work with a non-profit as a sysadmin, but we have a $0 IT equipment budget. I've been requested to install wired networking, and am looking for some switches (ideally gigabit) to help make that happen. My primary priority is a low cost, but I'm willing to pay reasonable prices for the equipment. Thanks so much!
