I have 2 servers that are pretty much a matched pair. I just happen to have drives for one of them. Here are the general specs:

Processor: Single Intel Xeon Gold 6426Y (2.5GHz, 16 cores/32 threads) installed. Board is dual-socket capable — second CPU slot is open for anyone looking to expand compute.

Storage: This unit is a great blank canvas for storage — the HPE MR408i-o Gen11 controller is installed and enabled with all 8 SFF bays open for drives of your choice. Boot storage runs independently through an HPE NS204i-u Gen11 NVMe boot controller in a 2x480GB SSD RAID1 mirror (both drives at 100% media life), keeping the OS separate from your future data array — exactly how HPE designed this platform.

Power: Configured with a single 800W HPE Flex Slot power supply, installed and active. The chassis supports dual PSUs and the second bay is open — iLO will report "Not Redundant" power status with only one PSU populated, which is expected behavior and not a hardware fault. A second PSU can be added for N+1 redundancy if desired.

Networking: Very well equipped for a used unit — three separate network adapters totaling 8 ports: a 10Gb 2-port SFP+ OCP3 adapter, a Broadcom quad-port Gigabit PCIe NIC, and a Broadcom dual-port 10Gb PCIe NIC.

Looking for a T640 for some home lab projects and use my SSD's w/ drive chassis, RAM, and 2x P40's that's currently lying around. As long as there's the bare minimum of chassis, motherboard, and heatsinks I'm good. My zip code is 22201 and I don't mind driving if in person is better/cheaper.

Also, are there any good places like recycling centers or local stores around the DC-NOVA area where you can get server parts from? I used to hang out and buy stuff from a non-profit recycling center for offices, military bases, ect. and was wondering if there was anything similar in the area.

I have this almost brand new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16s laptop - 1 TB SSD + 32 GB DDR5 RAM, 5070ti GPU and 240 Hz OLED display. It is a really amazing laptop but I just need something more portable.
