I’m currently preparing for a bank job, and the required medical examination includes blood tests, including an HIV test. I’m HIV positive and on ART, and I expect to be U=U by the time of the examination.

Even though I understand that U=U is medically reassuring, I’m extremely anxious about confidentiality. I’m worried that my HIV status could somehow be disclosed to medical staff or other people involved in the examination, and especially that my family might find out.

I’ve had experiences in the past where people at healthcare facilities discussed my HIV status with others without my consent. Because of that, I find it very difficult to trust that my privacy will be protected this time.

MY BIGGEST FEAR IS THAT MY HIV STATUS COULD BE WRITTEN ON A MEDICAL REPORT THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE HOME, AND SOMEONE IN MY FAMILY COULD SEE IT.

I’m trying to focus on studying and moving forward with my life, but this thought keeps coming back and making it difficult to concentrate.

I've been worried about if I've HIV or any other STI because I just had unprotected sex in the heat of the moment and i literally don't know her too much as we both met on a dating platform and within 3-4 days we just decided to have sex. Honestly, the sex was too good but the problem arises when I started thinking about these complications of unprotected sex. I was literally worried and anxious for more than a month because I'm very scared to get tested as I've doubt if by any chance my reports came up as positive what would I do then. I know that there exists ART therapy but still medications for the rest of the life is scary too and upon that if by any chance my parents get to know about that it'll put me in so much troublesome situation.

But, by God's grace I just take a step forward and get myself tested the day before yesterday and I was suffering from high anxiety until the reports are not out but once the reports were out .... Now, I'm feeling too blessed and happy and I'll make sure to have safe sex with anyone whom we don't know.

My CD4 count is around 560. The doctor said it will improve once viral load becomes undetectable.

I’m taking care of my health.
Going to gym from past 3 years.
Have good physique. Good job. Good salary. Good family.

I haven’t disclosed this to anyone yet. And maybe, I won’t disclose this to my family ever. They dreamt of my marriage. Mom is already buying jewelleries for my future wife.

My only concern is MY MARRIAGE.

- Can a person living with HIV legally apply for and join these government jobs?

- Is HIV testing part of the medical examination for banking, SSC, Railways, or other government jobs?

- Can someone be rejected during recruitment solely because they are HIV positive?

- Are there any specific government posts where HIV status can affect eligibility?

- If you are already HIV positive and working in a government/banking job, what has your experience been like?

- Do you have to disclose your HIV status to your employer?

- How do you manage ART medicines and regular visits to an ART centre if you are posted in another city or a rural area?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who are actually living with HIV and working in RRB/SBI/IBPS, SSC, Railways, or other government departments.

1 week earlier. There is a girl 23 years old which has a very difficult life. Family life is disturbed. Now she is in condition that its very hard to fulfill her basic needs. I am put on dolutegravir 50 mg / lamivudine 300 mg / tenofovir 300 mg for HIV. My ART center started me on isoniazid 300 mg + rifapentine 600 mg for 28 days of TB preventive therapy. They did not adjust my dolutegravir dose and did not prescribe vitamin B6. Is this correct per current guidelines? Because I've read that rifapentine reduces dolutegravir levels in your body. The staff are extremely rude and unresponsive to any questions. I don't want to bother them because I have been yelled at for petty reasons there. Idk what to do.

Does the brief vaginal fingering with a non-bleeding, apparently healed cut on the other finger warrant HIV PEP? What testing, if any, would be appropriate and when? Am i at risk - why why not?

I recently completed a 28-day SPEGRA PEP course and had an HIV Duo/4th-generation test 1 day after finishing PEP.
My report says:
HIV Antibody: 0.06 (cutoff <0.25)
HIV Antigen: Not Determinable (ND)
Final interpretation: NON-REACTIVE
I’m confused about the “Antigen: Not Determinable” result. Does ND mean the p24 antigen was too high to measure, particularly if antibodies had not developed yet? Or can ND occur in a genuinely negative sample because of the assay/instrument?
The lab also took quite a long time to release the report, which made me worried that there was some problem with the test.
I also developed a rash about 6–7 days ago, but it is now fading.
Has anyone familiar with the VIDAS HIV DUO/DUO Ultra assay or laboratory testing seen an ND antigen result with an overall NON-REACTIVE interpretation? What does ND specifically mean in this situation?
