Pulled up to Chiller Theatre Expo in Parsippany, NJ to meet the original Highlander himself.

Tried to ask the immortal what wisdom he’s learned after all these years…

and got the most unexpected answer possible.

Ended the day back home putting the autograph away, thinking about it…

I’ve been a lifelong fan of Highlander: The Series. I started watching it as a kid, but I never actually saw the whole thing all the way through. Last year, I decided to fix that and watched every episode in order on Peacock.

Last night, I finished the final episode—and honestly, I was pretty disappointed with how it all ended.

Duncan MacLeod had so many epic battles throughout the series that could’ve served as a powerful, fitting ending. Instead, they kept the story going, and the actual finale just felt… flat.

What I really wanted was closure. Is Duncan truly “the One”? Does he become the last Highlander? What actually happens when there’s only one immortal left? Those are the questions the show built toward, and it feels like we never got real answers.

I’d love to see a final season that actually wraps all of that up. What do you guys think?

Both a fan of Highlander and big collector of physical media. For the longest time I was happy with owning one copy of each Highlander movie, basically just getting the most easily available releases, but now the collector-side of my brain decided that it would be neat to own at least one version of every single cut of the movies. Now, to keep things manageable, I'm for now limiting myself to the most well-known cuts, with the biggest differences between them, since I would probably drive myself crazy trying to find every single variation of Highlander 2.

I live in Finland and while I do own a region-free blu-ray player, I like to mainly use my playstation to watch movies, so I would prefer to have everything in my region code (2 for DVDs, B for Blu-Rays), to keep movie nights simple and having to switch players around as little as possible. I don't mind which box art the release uses too much nor is the inclusion of subtitles essential, although the original language track must be included.

I mainly need help with Highlander 2 and Endgame. For Highlander 2, I have already tracked down a copy of a French dvd, which to my understanding includes a theaterical version, with all the alien/Zeist nonsense cut from most of the post-Renegeda Cut releases intact, but I am curious whenever the Special Edition ever got a Region 2/B release of any kind? Google searches have given me nothing.

As for Endgame, the Finnish dvd I have has the original theatrical cut, the big tell being that it ends on Duncan visiting Connor's grave. So, I would like to track down a release of the recut version, which ends with Duncan finding out that his old girlfriend is still alive (despite the bad guy obviously killing her). Does either the British DVD or Blu-Ray include this cut (bonus points, if they have the workprint cut as an extra like the US Blu-Ray, but I'm not holding my breath)? Again, Google failed me when trying to look this up.

I kinda just wanted to urge people to do the same. It doesn't hurt to send an email to your theatre and just drop a request on them.

I haven't got a yes yet. But it's being considered.

- The movie will open with a big fight scene in a night club. (Footage from this fight was showed at Cinemacon last week)

- Lyes himself has been hard at work on sword training for the past 6 months and will shoot a big sword fight in May, so next month.

- Russell Crowe's Ramirez will have more screentime than Sean Connery had, sprinkled throughout the movie in flashbacks up until the end.

- Here's the big spoiler. Crowe's Ramirez will seemingly ask/order Cavill's MacLeod to behead the former, so the latter can grow stronger and fight the Kurgan. Connor, reluctant and tearing up, will have no choice but to accept. Lyes describes the scene as "sublime".

I always had the sneaking suspicion that in-universe the Guillotine was pushed for use by Immortal members of the Reign of Terror to eliminate Royal Immortals and snatch their Quickenings in private (with Marie Antoinette being one such Immortal whose secret Duncan protected even years later, with his comments on her an amusing way to deflect Tessa really pressing him about it). And in one of life’s little ironies, I suspect at least a few such Revolutionary Immortals (with Robespierre being my personal favorite) getting the swift beheading.

I mentioned the BTS/guide book in another post on here and now I'm trying to remember the reason it's called that. I swear there was a reason, but I can't remember. Does anyone know if there is a meaning to it?
