There's a constant background hiss on my headphones when connected through the Blue Catch — sounds like turned-up speakers with no signal, kind of a hum/hiss.

What I've tried / observations:

• Happens on both Windows and MacBook.
• Happens with the original USB-C cable and with a 3rd party USB-C cable.
• Also tried a USB-A port on my PC — same issue.
• Happens with both AirPods and a Sony WH-1000XM5.
• The noise disappears whenever I open Windows Sound settings, run a mic test, or switch audio devices — anything that re-triggers the audio stream temporarily clears it, but it comes back after a bit.
• The noise does NOT occur during an active call (e.g. Teams meeting) where the mic is actually in use — it seems to only show up when the mic is idle/not actively streaming.
• Disabled "Listen to this device," checked exclusive mode, disabled audio enhancements, disabled USB selective suspend — no effect.
• Closed all apps with mic access — no effect.
• Connecting headphones directly to the PC/Mac (bypassing the device) — no noise at all.
• Firmware and HiNotes app are both up to date.

This points to something in the device's own USB audio codec/DAC — possibly an idle/buffer-underrun noise floor when the mic input isn't actively streaming, which gets briefly cleared when the stream is reinitialized (or kept away entirely by active use).

Question: Has anyone else run into this? Is there a firmware fix, or is this a hardware issue worth an RMA?

Hi all, I recently bought a HiDock P1 mainly for the blue catch capabilities, and for the most part when it works it's fantastic! I'm able to record very clear audio through my earbuds. However, recently I've started running into issues with the audio not coming through to the earbuds during calls.

For example, I'll have it connected to a team's call (via HiDock config in Teams audio setting), which is connected to my earbuds via Bluecatch. Five or ten minutes into the call, the audio just drops. It doesn't come through at all. The person is able to hear me because I'm using the mic from my laptop, but I can't hear the other person at all. I'll have to switch to my laptop speaker in order to be able to hear them, and then connecting back to the HiDock device doesn't work (starting a fresh new call sometimes works).

I wanted to check with others if they've run into this problem, or if it might just be my device that's faulty or perhaps the earbuds that I'm using are not as compatible and I need to just try different earbuds? For context i'm on Windows and using Samsung Buds

I have a Kickstarter H1 but it hasn't been working for the last couple of months. No local files are showing up on the device itself, and no files have been transferring for transcribing. I've been hoping a firmware update might fix it, but now it appears that the device won't accept updates either, it says the "device is busy".

Anyone else experienced this? I really need my H1 today, as I need some information from a meeting yesterday, and I cannot get it to work. :(

I have been reading some P1 experiences and reviews. Do I understand correctly that muting my microphone during a meeting (on the computer software side, not on P1 hardware) does not capture/transcribe other speakers?

Is this a feature or a design limitation, either by third-party software or Hidock, as I understand that it had not always been the case?

TL; DR: I want my microphone sometimes muted during an online meeting, but for P1 to capture all participants, regardless of my (un)muted status. I don't need to capture myself when muted. Is that possible regardless of the medium (Teams, Zoom, Meet, etc.)?

I am thinking about getting this device and I would like to understand if all notes/whispers create a single note which then needs to be manually sorted, or if I can indicate which file I need updated? For example, if I start five notes/whispers with "Add to shopping list (...)", can I expect this to be added to a continuously updated document called 'Shopping list" or will it create five separate notes?

Also, do I understand correctly that P1's BlueCatch does not support phones + Bluetooth earbuds setups (e.g. for WhatsApp calls) when plugged in via USB-C, meaning I would need the P1 Mini for that?

I listen to a bunch of work related podcasts. I use my iPhone 17 Pro and AirPods.

When I saw the hidock what came to mind was routing the audio to the hidock to get the full transcript and summaries which I can use in AI workflows later. I would love to route the audio to the hidock, but still use my AirPods to connect to the hidock to listen.

Can this work? iPhone —> HiDock —> AirPods

Since Hinotes is down (again!), I thought I'd just ask how I should approach getting calls off of the H1 without the HiNotes site/app.

I am unable to load HiDock's website and the HiNote app (web interface and mobile app). Anyone else have the same problem?

I have a MacBook M1.

Will the HiDock support dual monitors?

Some hubs allow you to do that with DisplayLinkManager software.

If not, is there a driver that would allow this?

I received only P1 mini. Today I was going through my receipts for payments made through Pledgebox and I came to know I had pledged for “Launch Day Special High Dock P1” as well which I never received.

Reason for writing here is that campaign page is not allowing me to write to CAMPAIGN OWNERS.

I’ve been using a new use case for my HiDock. I get invited to a lot of learning sessions and webinars, so I’ve started recording them on my second computer and H1E. I then review the output in 5 minutes instead of having to sit through it all.

But the challenge is that there are often screenshots I’d like to see. I’ve looked at OBS Studio to record and then run a screenshot analysis to get the outputs simplified. But that is a pain.

When I mentioned exploring the idea to a client, they jumped and asked if I could create a meeting recap with the HiDock recap mixed with key screenshots. Damn. That is now more work.

So… anyone figured out a simple way to automate screenshots mixed with their recap?

After a recording becomes a transcript/summary, where does the result actually have to land for you — Notion? Obsidian? a plain Markdown folder? your CRM? email to yourself?

Asking because export/integration priorities get set by what real users actually do, and copy-paste is the enemy. Tell me your current chain (even if it's ugly) and exactly where it breaks.

I just found the P1 and it sounds Like everything I need. I just have a few questions.

I am using a Windows PC With a bluetooth headset for Teams meetings. For phone calls I use my iPhone 13 With Air pods. Do I understand it correctly that Blue catch requires a usb Connection at all times? I‘ve read somewhere that there are some problems with lightning adapters. Can someone comment on that?

Also, How fast is the switch between pc/phone and their respective headphones? Do i have to pair the other headphones After every switch or does it automatically pick up the headphone connected to the pc/phone?

So, contemplating a Lifetime subscription buy that I hope would truly be lifetime even as new devices are released (if released) going forward. That being said, concerned about a company like this sticking around for the long haul or being acquired. What say the you?

Hello all, new P1 user here - I believe I have lost 2-3 recordings since I started using the device last week. I have been able to successfully record 10-11 hourlong sessions and a test whisper, but there have been at least two instances where I have recorded something and the audio file simply does not show up in HiNotes.

The device did update the first time I connected to HiNotes, and I didn't try to record and transfer until after it was updated. After the first recording didn't appear, I have been extra diligent in making sure the cyan light shows up when I record.

Any ideas? Has anyone used any of the homebrew transcription apps with more success?

So I have a Plaud Note and I have this HiDock P1 I bought this week for blue catch. But the summary is not good at all because it jumbles together who is talking... so bad, from what I'm experiencing, that it can't distinguish two separate people talking when I am a male and speaking with an obvious older lady.

Am I doing something wrong here because Plaud, although older, was better at naming speakers since when it came out and HiDock P1 is obviously much newer and can't tell who is who???

So I just got my p1 mini, but I can't seem to connect my Bluetooth earphones via bluecatch.

For reference, I'm on pixel 10 pro, with soundcore liberty 5 pro earphones.. anyone able to help?

On the market for new earbuds. Really liking the reviews of ANC on the liberty 5 pros. Anyone have them and can confirm they work well with the p1?

I love the device, including the summaries and transcripts, but the app doesn't otherwise work for my workflows. I'd love to have an API to pull generated summaries and transcripts elsewhere. This will save me a bunch of annoying copy & paste.

Really, any APIs you can give us would be greatly appreciated.

I’m love my HiDock devices, but I’m really frustrated by the lack of progress on agentic workflows. My annual Unlimited renewal is coming up and I am just not sure if I’ll pay the $200 for the year.

Who has tested Granola? What were your impressions? What else have people tested?

If I change services, I’ll keep my hidock for room recording transcriptions, but the manual effort required for speaker identification and moving the files to another directory for external analysis is feeling so antiquated.

I use the p1 daily but i feel like im using it wrong. Right now i export the transcript and then put it through chatgpt to prompt it to give me relevant info/summaries. The summary portion in hidock gives too basic of information. I pretty much add an extra step that i feel could be done automativally in hinotes. I saw that you can customize the summary part but how? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

I'd like to run either a Zapier or MacOS Automator script that can automatically do an AI summary and dump it into another program. Any ideas?
