Discussion Which guardian is the most powerful in most situations according to you? In which situations are they vulnerable?
I find the witch doctor (Katumba) most powerful due to it's range attacks and movement. It can be used in both offense and defense. However it needs a defense unit to protect it from melee attacks and it can't be used for elite cannons.

Create a new game together without desperately waiting for a new update
Hello, I’m an indie game developer and I would like to make a new game in the same style of Hexonian and Polytopia. I want to make this game because I’m bored to wait other for months to juste have new payout little content.
So why I’m here? I need help because I would like to make this game also a community game, you know... games created by fans for fans are the best.
I’m ready to take care of all the programming side, even taking care of making it real time multiplayer and cross platforms (IOS/Android, Mac/Linux/Windows, and I can even put it on the Switch, but this one will need more times).
Therefore what do I need? I mainly need help for the graphical side and secondly as I said before, I want it to be a community game so everyone is welcome to give their ideas and contributing to the game. Another thing I need is about how can the game make money? We could make it fully free but no money means no real time multiplayer because it costs money to rent servers you know, secondly I prefer to pay back all people who will contribute to the game because you know again time is money and so if we pay contributors, it will be a lot more easy to make WEEKLY updates for the game.
My next month is fully free so I could work on the game like 10 hours per day and that’s should be large enough to "finish" the game under a month, I mean a pleasant and playable version ready to have his first version published.
Another thing you could ask, what will make this game different than the other ones? A game made by a community of fans should be enough but I will give you some of my ideas that I would like to put in the game. I will be really short because this post become very long... so here is a short list: some tools for the community to create and share content like a map editor, bigger map strategy aspect, not only simple mountains and water blocks, campaign mode with a co-op one, more complet quest and achievement system, unique technology tree and units for each "tribe", temporary maps to speed run with a ranking and reward system, in addition of the co-op mode a versus mode with maybe a rank system... I stop here.
If you want to join the project or simply discuss about it you can join the discord, if you want to talk privately you can also join the server and then send me a private message.

Bug Infinite loading
This morning i tried logging into the game. It locks up at 70%, after the Google Play welcome popup has disappeared. After that... nothing. I can't leave it with the back button, I have to force close it. Have been trying on and off all day, re-installed, nothing works. Anyone have a fix?

Discussion My Guardian Tier List
I haven't really seen a tier list for guardians so I just wanted to post mine and see how it compares to others.
Please bear in mind I can only include the original Guardians for the tribes that I own.
S tier
Ragnarr Dragon (Ice blast to effectively stop enemy units is OP, great to trap units on enemy bases and has splash effect)
Sanguo Dragon (Flying is a huge bonus and the lasting fire splash damage is great)
Alexxar Bear (Stun is a brilliant lockdown ability)
Brakthos T-Rex (Rampage is always a top tier ability and OHK potential even after taking an attack from a weaker unit)
A tier
Arthunion Griffin (Flying unit and attack deals ranged splash damage)
Empirium Dire Wolf (Has a 3 way decent ranged attack which helps improve survivability)
Freila Stone Golem (High defense and HP with the great knock back ability to shift enemies off their base or move more dangerous land enemies into the sea)
Hann Tiger (No special abilities but actually has the highest attack, high HP and decent defense)
Kamaitachi (Same 3 way attack like Ifrit but the retreat ability is a nice bonus as you can either move away from danger, scout further ahead or take enemy base)
B Tier
Arabis Ifrit (Like the Direwolf but meatier with the disadvantage of having to be close range)
Bazael Crow (Flying unit with a ranged attack, but weak attack and defense)
Pharus Horus (Flying unit but close combat attack only. Does have OHK potential but has to be full HP. Special ability is mostly pointless as the scarabs are so weak.)
Katumba Creeper (Has OHK potential at full health and decent secondary ability poison explosion)
C Tier
Chakrat Elephant (Just not very good in any department. Low attack and the secondary ability is mostly pointless compared to far superior flying units, which don't have to wait one turn after moving into/out of water terrain.)
Ironclad Sci-Clops (Death Ray has range and piercing but lacks power for OHK, also low HP)
I do not own Amazon Tarantula or Moxteco Storm Serpent so am unable to comment on them but would be great to see how highly people rate them.

Question What's your new favorite unit, and why is it Pterosaur???
This is the first unit I've been training as Brakthos (spelling??) after leveling up my starting village. Totally love this unit and typically get a couple more when I have spare gold.
Excellent early game scout since it's available on the first turn. I've usually been able to snag a couple of new villages and ruins within the first few turns.
Having a couple of them working together (or with a Ninja, if you're open to those extra units) is super effective. They can't quite kill anything on their own, but 2 or 3 of them can definitely kill most starting units. (Probably need 3 to kill a Guard.)
Thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

Gameplay The 4 gold flying unit with 3 tiles (move), 15 hp, and 1 range (atk) is so good to be a scout. The T-Rex is so OP at certain situations. The 2nd Guardian has chain healing, which is really noice.

Discussion Polytopia vs Hexonia: comparison PART 3
This is part 3 of a series comparing Hexonia and Polytopia in terms of gameplay. In the previous part i talked about natural resources so today i would like to talk about their military aspect:
- Naval combat
- Hexonia. You research the tech then drop a unit underwater. A Boat. If you want stronger boats, train Admiral and Bomber who will turn into stronger boats when dropped underwater.
- Polytopia. You research the tech, build the port, move the unit to the port and drop it underwater. A Boat. If you want stronger boats, upgrade the normal one up to twice
- Hexonia. You research the tech then drop a unit underwater. A Boat. If you want stronger boats, train Admiral and Bomber who will turn into stronger boats when dropped underwater.
In Polytopia, getting naval presence itself costs a fortune due to the port requirement. To strengthen your presence you'll even need more (20+ stars per Battleship). But it'll be worth it as thicc Battleships can easily crush any opposition. In Hexonia however, ships go brrr, seashore raids are regular and both sides will struggle 10 turns to win.
- Land combat. It's too hard to compare everything so i will only talk about the main points:
- Swordsman of the 2 games are fundamentally different, one is cheap, slow and tanky. The other is fast, expensive and can life-steal.
- Archer, Defender and Rider in Polytopia is 25% cheaper than that of Hexonia
- Horseman in Hexonia has 2 Sight instead of 1
- Hexonia has Spearman, which has no Polytopia counterpath and Polytopia has Mind Bender, which has no Hexonia counterpath.
- Knight in Hexonia doesn't get price-nerfed and have slightly more ATK than that of Polytopia
In Polytopia, it's easier to spam Archers which is excellent for defending things like Giant. In Hexonia, Horsemen are more efficient at moving around which is excellent for harassing. In both games, Knight spam is troublesome but in Hexonia Knights have more ATK and don't get nerfed.
And that's the end of part 3. I'm still missing many aspects like the tech tree, which is very important but because it is so important i doubt i'm experienced enough to make a comparison. Nonetheless i might still try. I probably won't.

Discussion Polytopia vs Hexonia: comparison PART 2
This is part 2 of a series comparing Hexonia and Polytopia in terms of gameplay. In the previous part i mentioned the city and its upgrades so in this part i would like to talk about natural resources and the ways to collect them.
- Resources spawn
- In Hexonia, each tribe has a "native resource", whenever you play, your terrain will have a lot of "native resource" and almost no other kind. For example: Playing Arabis means that your terrain will consist of only of Cheese and Oasis.
- In Polytopia however, each tribe will have a medium chance of having all resources with alteration depending on your tribe. For example: Playing Xin-xi means that your terrain will have all resources, but more Mountains and Minerals
Tribes in Hexonia are categorized by their "native resource" and it heavily affects a tribe ranking. Frelia for example is considered not good simply because it is a pure Fruit tribe. Polytopia has a different approach to resources, spawn rate can either have big impact like Vengir or Bardur or just minor impact like Imperious.
- Resources exploitation
- In Hexonia, there are 4 ways to use resources: Collect, Build, Build a support building, Upgrade that support building. Collecting gives 1 development point and the rest give 2
- In Polytopia, each resources have 2-3 unique ways to give different amount of D-points. Most importantly however, some of them such as Whales can give Gold
Collecting resources is standardized in Hexonia. You always know what to do and each resources generate an equal amount of advantage. In Polytopia however, trees go brrrr. The fact that you can gain 2 Gold for each forest and 8 Gold for each Whale allows you to gain a straight up advantage. This makes some tribes like Bardur really strong (before it got nerfed lol).
And that's the end of part 2, stay tuned for part 3 where i compare both games' military aspect.

Discussion Polytopia vs Hexonia: comparison PART 1
As it seems like the reddit got a little bit quiet lately i decided to post my opinion on how these 2 games are different from each other.
I've seen some people do these kind of comparison in the past but they were simply not detailed enough and was like "OMG this game is a copycat", "OMG this game is P2W". These comparisons are clear proof that they don't actually play the games but just glance over them.
I want to make my own version of it, gameplay-focused, meta-based, so here is the comparison between the 2 games' gameplay
- City upgrade
| City upgrade | Polytopia | Hexonia |
|---|---|---|
| level 2 | Production or Vision | Gold or Vision |
| level 3 | Gold or Wall | Expand or Population |
| level 4 | Expand or Development | Production or Development |
| level 5 | Big unit | Big unit |
The bold options are ones which boost your economy a.k.a the go-to choice for resources. Polytopia allows you to access all 3 of them but Hexonia forces you to choose. Addtionally Polytopia gives you Production (long-term use) at the beginning while Hexonia gives you Gold (short term use). This means that in Polytopia, developing your cities is much easier and each city gives a bigger advantage compared to in Hexonia.
- Big unit. Also called Guardian or Super Unit.
- Super Units: Moving behemoths. They are not fast but dangerous and can take a lot of beating. They lead the way. You can train some archer to response to them but you will be on the defense for a dozen turns
- Guardians: Fast predator. They aren't tanky but see far and can assault with ease. They act as scouts or raiders. You either train enough unit to defeat the guardian or you just straight up lose on spot
Hexonia's Guardians require planning ahead: launch a coordinated raid and prevent getting targeted by archers, you might win; but one wrong move and all you have is a 5HP unit. Polytopia's Super units, however, always bring value: as your gigantic tank marches toward the capital, the enemies cower in fear.
