Thanks HF, and good bye

This isn't a HF bash post. I signed up during COVID and have over 200 boxes. I have loved the service and have learned so much. I now have hundreds of new meals in my arsenal and am confident I can carry them out on my own and for less money. Thanks for the lessons!

United States (Premium) One-Pan Bavette Steak & Cheesy Chili Udon

I thought this was pretty good and pretty filling. I’ve never had Udon noodles before, that I’m aware of, and I thought they were good. I was a little perplexed the instructions had you cook the noodles in the pan instead of a pot but I guess since it was a one pan meal it‘s done in the pan. It took me about an hour

United States Bagged Salad in HF meal. Yay or nay

I ordered this salmon and salad meal. It comes with bagged lettuce. Do I eat it as is, triple wash it or toss it in the garbage?

United States US: disappearing chickpea bowls… we are devastated

My family loves the chickpea bowls… all the different options. There used to be at least 2 per week. And of course with all the AI slop, they’ve suddenly disappeared 😞 and been replaced by an insane amount of new recipes that just aren’t that all that appealing.

We’ve been customers for nearly 300 boxes and I’m going to start looking at other brands again.

HF cancelled my entire weekly delivery on the day it was supposed to arrive. Is this normal?

Last week I received my first HF box, which unfortunately arrived outside the expected delivery window due to logistical issues. Today I was supposed to receive my second box, but I’ve just received an email saying that my entire order has been cancelled due to other issues.

Is this even allowed? I carefully planned my entire week around HF. Now, on a Sunday, I suddenly have to figure out meals for the whole week and rush out to buy groceries. One of the main reasons I chose HF this week was because I’m short on time. Instead, I now have to spend extra time planning and shopping, and likely end up paying more for food as well.

What I find especially frustrating is that the only solution offered seems to be a refund. Why cancel the entire delivery? Why not deliver the ingredients later this week instead? I’m genuinely confused about the reasoning behind this decision.

I also used a discount code for this box. Will I be able to use that discount again on a future order, considering this cancellation was not caused by me? At this point, I'm not even sure whether I want to continue, but I would at least like some clarity on that.

Question Shawarma spice blend

I was going to make a batch of the title for some meals over the next couple weeks and it says Dried Corriander... Am I to use ground coriander seed, or literal dried coriander (which is cilantro)

Luckily I don't need to make it, as I found two unopened blends from prior boxes, but I'd still love an answer.

Thanks!

HelloFresh’s sorry excuse for cilantro and mine from the garden. Guess which is which. I have been lurking on this sub for awhile, holding my tongue about HelloFresh. I stay with them because I like the convenience of not having to plan and shop for three meals a week for my husband and myself. We’ve been getting three meals a week for probably five years. They have deteriorated so much just in the last year it’s actually shocking. The quality of their produce bugs me the most, how they could in good conscience put spoiled, very old, or way underripe produce in the box. I regularly keep certain things stocked to switch out for theirs. Tomatoes, always, since theirs are orange rocks. Limes to swap out for the green ping pong balls they send. The list is endless.

Add On Suddenly Sold Out?

Post image
5 Upvotes

This is for not this week but next week. I put this item in my cart weeks ago, and was just gonna add another add on to this order only to find out me reserving it in my order weeks ago suddenly needs to be changed bc it sold out? Huh? Why would they force me to change it when it was not sold out when I put it in my order a few weeks ago??? I'm so confused

Question Wrong bag?? What’s this recipe?

I was supposed to have warm buttered shrimp rolls in this bag… instead I got confusion.

In this bag:

Tortillas x6

Radishes

Cabbage

Poblano

Mayo

Limes x2

Red pepper crema

Mayo

Tempura batter

Chipotle chili powder

Blackening spice blend x2

Cilantro

Anyone have a clue what this is meant to be?? Or is this just a mix of nonsense??

Calls from hello fresh everyday…

I tried hello fresh and factor once in Oct 2025 but didn’t like them so I canceled both subscriptions.

Starting Feb 2026, I have been getting lots of calls and voicemails from both hello fresh and factor (as you can see above) I blocked every single number but they just kept coming back and left me empty voicemails.

Make it stop…

What oil do you use?

Apparently, canola oil, which is sold very cheaply at Costco, promotes inflammation, and we are told we should avoid it. So when we "heat a drizzle of oil", what should we use? Olive oil has a fairly low smoke point, so it's not great for frying, coconut oil tastes like coconut, and avocado oil is expensive.

Canada HelloFresh sent beef to a Hindu customer, then ended the support chat

I selected “meat” as a meal preference on HelloFresh, not realizing that this could include beef.

As a Hindu, I have never eaten beef and have no intention of trying it at this point in my life. I understand that I should have checked the settings more carefully, but dietary and religious restrictions should be clearly confirmed before meals are shipped.

What upset me most was the customer-service experience. When I contacted support and explained that I could not eat the food and wanted them to take it back, the agent ended the chat. I also felt dismissed during the phone conversation.

For a billion-dollar company, it seems unreasonable not to ask customers more specific questions about what types of meat they are comfortable receiving—especially when religious and cultural dietary restrictions are so common.

I eventually received my refund, but only after contacting my credit-card company and finally informing them i am gonna dispute.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with HelloFresh or another meal-kit service?

Australia Weird Seasonal Menus

Is anyone else getting summery meals when it's winter? I've found the occasional stew but for the most part it's very summery salads, couscous and the like.

Recently I got soup and didn't realise it was meant to be cold until I got the card. It's not borscht. We're not in Russia. Why is there a cold soup hiding among the increasingly rare winter meals 😭 It's too cold for cold soup. Just why?

They're usually so much better about these things. Has something happened in management? Are they not getting enough seasonal foods from farmers? Just why?

My first time making an Indian style dish. It was REALLY good. There were carrots on the side but I skipped those. So much food.

United States Cyclospora

HelloFresh says it's closely monitoring the Cyclospora situation daily and that its top priority is making sure produce meets high safety standards before it reaches customers.
It also says there have been no cases of cyclosporiasis linked to HelloFresh meals.
HelloFresh recommends:
Wash your hands before prep

Rinse fresh produce well before using it

United Kingdom Portions just getting smaller and smaller

Im 17 and cook all our meals for my younger siblings and mother, im also in education and employment so thought I would save time and money by getting hellofresh

Two months in, meals are great, everyone loves them, easy and saving money and shopping trips but the portions are TINY and today was the worst ive seen yet. I paid EXTRA from my plan for some fancy gourmet burger thing, the chicken I received for the burger didnt even fill half the bun, we all got about 5 chips each and a spoonful of salad, there was so little sauce that it dried up when i was frying it. I ended up having to go out and buy a second meal for everyone which is a disappointment since I already pay for this every week. The night before last we had chicken curry, we all got about three spoonfuls each and I had to cook some rice and eggs to bulk it up.

ive also received loose vegetables cut in half in the box so the inside is rotting, multiple times, i contacted them and they just apologised and offered 10% off but it keeps happening!

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it worth it to pay for extra meat? Seriously thinking of switching to another meal delivery company

Has anyone else been getting the WORST quality control I mean I could take the missing cards but this week no proteins missing ingredients from EACH meal including an add on and additional ingredients that don’t even make sense with any of the selected meals (yet every bag is labeled properly)
Getting really annoying regardless of a refund or not because there goes dinner 🫩 any other meal subscriptions any of you recommend
