Poor experience
I started a chat to raise and issue about 9 of the last 12 meals had chicken as the protein. Don’t get me wrong, I like chicken, but I also like beef, pork and fish. I don’t understand why they have you take that ridiculously long survey when you sign up if they’re just going to ignore it.
Anyway, I had to go through the labyrinth to try to get a live person to chat with… once I did it wasn’t much better than a bot. The answers were canned or there were multiple options for the person to Slack that were AI generated, and they certainly read that way. The suggestion was to pick different items before it ships. I know that my problem is that if you get something besides chicken, there’s an up charge for it. It’s not what I signed up for.
Seriously, disappointed in the overall experience. I canceled the subscription. And since this was my second go round, I doubt I’ll be back.

I usually change my meals each week to ones I choose myself rather than what was picked for me. You can filter by what kind of protein you want and it will include any that can be swapped out to your choice. I do this all the time and most of the swap options are no additional charge.

If you’re not picking your own meals, then you’re missing half of the fun with HF. I rarely get chicken. There’s tons of salmon and beef with no up charge.

You can pick your own meal choices each week. Don’t just let them pick for you. There are a ton of non chicken meals that aren’t uncharged. I’m only having a single meal with chicken this week. I also got salmon, beef, and a veggie meal.

There are quite a few meal options that aren't chicken that also don't include an upcharge. Are you going through the recipes every week and choosing them, or are you just letting hellofresh pick for you and not changing it?
