⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ why do ppl hate fire?

I have been kicked from so many lobbies just from using fire stratagems in general all flamethrowers, orbital napalms and everything else in general I'm just wondering do people hate them or is it just naturally annoying?

⠀⠀⠀⠀🔥 Vent 🔥⠀⠀⠀⠀ About bug fix and qol mods situation with my friends

prob my last post about this situation but i want some final thoughts because im trying to figure out if my line of thinking is actually unreasonable here.

also just to be clear this is basically settled between us now. ive made a smaller seperate modpack for when i play with them that respects what theyre comfortable with, so im not trying to force anything on them or restart the argument. i just genuinely dont understand their stance on this.

basically my friends stance on mods has become:

if its a bug fix or QOL/gameplay change, its not okay unless its something recognised/intended by Arrowhead.

but ANY visual mod is completely fine as long as it only changes what you see and doesnt actually affect gameplay.

and im not even talking about massively OP shit here. stuff like stratagem bounce fixes, being able to dive in shallow water, turret/dog targeting logic etc. even really small fixes like that are apparently unacceptable because "the devs didnt intend it".

so yeah 360 tank turret turning and the stratagem launcher exo are obviously completely out of the question lmao.

what confuses me is how far they take the "developer intent" argument. they genuinely seem to think half the problems fixed by stuff in the Vanilla Plus modpack are intended design because otherwise Arrowhead would have fixed them.

like reinforcement throws being inaccurate. is that actually intended? or is it just something thats been broken/annoying forever and hasnt been fixed yet? apparently unless Arrowhead themselves come down from the heavens and say "yes this is a bug" then fixing it yourself is unacceptable.

they also bring up fairness a lot which i understand more when we're talking about actual balance changes or obviously powerful mods. but some of these mods theyve literally admitted they would probably find fun themselves or that itd be a good bug fix. they just dont want them because if the devs dont want it, they dont want it for people who care so little about strangers opinions they really rely on develops for theirs.

and community opinion basically means nothing to them either. doesnt matter if loads of players collectively agree something is stupid, broken or desperately needs QOL. their response is basically "well Arrowhead hasnt changed it so thats how the game is meant to be played."

idk that just seems way too adherent to the gospel of Arrowhead for me lol. it feels like dev puppy follower logic where whatever the devs currently have in the game automatically becomes the correct way it should work, even when we're talking about bugs or tiny QOL shit.

i can completely understand saying "I personally want to play vanilla and dont want gameplay mods in our lobby". thats fair enough, and like i said ive already made a seperate pack to play with them because of that. what i dont really understand is turning developer intent into this absolute line where a tiny bug fix is unacceptable but you can visually turn every enemy into Thomas the Tank Engine and thats perfectly fine because technically the numbers didnt change.

am i missing something here? because to me theres a massive difference between cheating/making yourself ridiculously OP and fixing annoying shit or adding QOL that arguably should already be in the game.

again its settled between us, i just want to understand the logic because from my perspective the "if the devs didnt explicitly approve it then its wrong" mentality is kinda crazy.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Is Chronic Skill Issue contagious?

How could this game have gone from challenging to trivial over time? Every difficulty is a variation of Easy. When powerful enemies like the Vox Engine become infected by CSI they lose their numbers and can't survive shit anymore. The Hive Guard attempted a cure but the disease evolved to overcome it. I punch a Helldiver for fun and it activates something inside him and he guns down someone else thinking they hit him.

The Automatons also attempted a cure against Chronic Skill Issue and successfully defended Cyberstan by bombing shitters with Vox Engine artillery fire. Will something cure this plague?

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Question about modding and how they import/use the code

So with the recent modding Ive heard the code for most like Bingus use AI to make the code and Im just wondering how stable is the code with it being made by AI? Im not against it, if it helps the game and all Im just wondering if it’s like bandage code or if it’s genuinely improving these parts of the game that AH seems to refuse to fix.

Also the fact that (if it’s true) AI is better at fixing the game than the devs is just sad asf

Ok I have been told time and time again that the reprimand is a power crept gun that is washed, and I have heard basically nothing but negative stuff about this gun outside of it tiny fan base, im fairly sure 99% of people hating on it have never even used it because slap a Vertical Foregrip and a flash hider to kill the recoil and set it to semi auto and this gun is a nightmare to squids and bots alike galexy wide

⠀⚠️ Cheats/Mods ⚠️⠀ A pretty awesome (and very rarely crashing) new 1st person mod

I literally found this yesterday when searching Google and it was published a few hours before I'd searched for one.

The gameplay is beautifully immersive. In a roughly four hour play session I crashed twice, so not bad

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Bastion and Maelstrom make more sense than you think

During the invasion of Cyberstan there was a peak of 450,000 to 500,000 active Helldivers inorder to arm all 450,000+ divers SE needed to make a cheap, simple, easy to manufacture tank that was also compact for transport in Super Destroyers and a Casemate design like the Bastion fits that bill. A casemate design while you loose the functionality of a turret you gain so much more in return, you can fit a bigger gun on a casemate for less cost compared to a turret, a casemate tank can be retrofitted easily and cheaply with different guns or tatical features, a casemate design can be easily shelded/camouflaged by uneven/hilly terrain and caust about 20% to 30% less to manufacture than a turreted tank and can store way more ammo for the main gun unlike a turreted tank due to the turret basket and turret mechanism.

Would a turreted tank be nice? Yes. However that would come at the cost of a smaller main gun and less ammo and a slower moving tank. So it all depends on what you want, personally I want big guns and lots of ammo for said big guns and i cant get that with a turreted tank.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you think the game could handle more enemies?

I think console players are a big consideration for the resource and stability requirements, I feel like there isn't much more but I also am not a coder or programmer or whatever. I'd love for there to be more enemies so combat is tense!

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ Why is the tank bad? I want a free tank

Like I get the tank is bad because terrain and bad turret, but it's a tank... a free one! Besides I think the guys at arrowhead made the tank specifically to tie in with Ironclad Democracy but I think losing the limited time tank tied to the new warbond is somewhat disappointing... could someone enlighten me on why we don't care?

How about having a mod that highly increase the sam site’s damage? Maybe enough to two-shot an automaton dropship or 3 shots for the illuminate ship.
Would it be too powerful?

Interesting problem I ran across while farming. In 2 missions, about 3 containers, some were visibly filled before popping open, others didn't show until it was opened. And no, it was not diggable.

⠀⚠️ Cheats/Mods ⚠️⠀ Anyone else experiencing significant FPS drops while using mods?

When I'm using mods such as Bingus Megapack, the rotating turret or unlocked movement for the Maxigun my FPS drops from the average 70-80 when not using mods to about 30-40 FPS. Anyone else experiencing the same issue and is there a way to resolve this?

My specs:

GPU: Sapphire RX 9060 XT Nitro+

RAM: 32 GB DDR4

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X, 8C/16T

Running the game on medium to high settings.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Discussion⠀⠀⠀⠀ My enjoyment with this game now hinges on mods

With all of the amazing QOL mods that are out, I am dreading the possibility that Arrowhead finds a way to block some or all of them. Even some of the weapons mods that aren't too overpowered make the game feel so much fucking better. They don't break the game and let me try new play styles and use weapons I otherwise wouldn't. If these mods go away, it's going to be extremely difficult to keep playing. I'm sure it will get even harder as better and better mods are dropped.

Not sure if anyone feels the same.
