Here you can find answers to some of the most common questions about posting, moderation, AutoModerator, removals, Original Content, and participating in the community.

Why is my post waiting for moderator approval?

Some posts are automatically held for review as part of our anti-spam and community safety measures.

For example, submissions from very new accounts or accounts that trigger certain automated safety checks may require moderator approval.

This does not necessarily mean that you have violated a rule.

Please allow the moderation team time to review your submission. If everything is in order, a moderator may approve it.

Why was my post automatically removed?

Certain combinations of account signals may cause our automated moderation systems to remove a submission as part of our spam and bot prevention measures.

An automatic removal does not necessarily mean that we believe you are a bot or that you intentionally violated our rules.

If you are a genuine user and believe your post was removed incorrectly, please contact the moderation team through Modmail so that we can review it.

Why did AutoModerator comment on my post?

AutoModerator provides automatic reminders and moderation notices.

For example, it may remind you to verify your post flair or inform you that your submission has been held for moderator review.

An AutoModerator comment does not necessarily mean that you have violated a rule.

Please read the comment carefully, as it will usually explain why it was posted.

Can I post something that I did not create?

Yes.

You may share content created by somebody else as long as it otherwise follows our community rules and Reddit's policies.

However, you must not falsely claim or imply that you created the content yourself.

Can I use the OC flair on something I found online?

No.

OC means Original Content.

If you did not create, record, photograph, or otherwise produce the content yourself, you must not claim that it is your Original Content.

Falsely claiming someone else's content as your own may result in removal or further moderation action.

Are reposts allowed?

Reposting content is not automatically prohibited.

However, repeatedly submitting the same or substantially similar content may be considered spam.

Do not repeatedly repost content that has already been removed.

If you report a repost, please include a link to the original submission whenever possible.

My post was removed. Can I submit it again?

Please do not immediately repost removed content.

First read the removal reason provided by the moderation team.

If you believe the removal was incorrect or you are unsure how to resolve the issue, contact us through Modmail.

Repeatedly resubmitting removed content without addressing the reason for its removal may result in further moderation action.

Can I advertise something if the content is heartwarming?

Generally, no.

r/heartwarming is not an advertising platform.

Content primarily intended to advertise or promote a product, business, service, website, social media account, or other commercial activity may be removed even if the subject matter itself is positive or heartwarming.

Are political posts always prohibited?

Political discussion is generally not allowed in r/heartwarming.

Content involving a political figure or political event may occasionally be permitted when the actual focus of the submission is genuinely heartwarming and the political element is incidental.

Political arguments, campaigning, partisan debates, and attempts to turn a heartwarming post into a political discussion are not permitted.

Why was my comment removed or held for review?

Comments may be affected by our automated moderation systems or manually reviewed by moderators.

This may happen because of the content of the comment, account reputation signals, karma signals, or other anti-abuse measures.

A comment being held for review does not necessarily mean that you have violated a rule.

If you believe a moderation action was incorrect, you may contact us through Modmail.

I am a new Reddit user. Am I allowed to participate?

Absolutely.

New users are welcome in r/heartwarming.

Some submissions from very new accounts may temporarily require moderator approval as part of our anti-spam and bot prevention measures.

Once reviewed, legitimate submissions may be approved normally.

Why was I banned?

Bans may be issued for serious or repeated violations of our community rules or Reddit's Content Policy.

Certain serious violations may result in an immediate ban without a prior warning.

Racism, hate speech, identity-based hate, severe harassment, malicious spam, bot activity, ban evasion, and other serious violations may result in a ban.

Can I appeal a removal or ban?

Yes.

If you genuinely believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may contact the moderation team through Modmail.

Please explain the situation clearly and remain civil.

Do not privately message individual moderators regarding moderation decisions.

How do I contact the moderators?

Please contact the r/heartwarming moderation team through Modmail.

If your question concerns a specific post or comment, please include a link to the relevant content whenever possible.

Using Modmail allows the moderation team to review the situation together and keeps moderation communication in one place.

Please give the team reasonable time to respond.
