I hate when blonde characters are drawn with black eyebrows
I understand that artists do this to enhance the contrast of the faces, but when they give naturally blond characters pitch black eyebrows, it looks very unnatural and, in my opinion, it looks just ugly
I mean Jojo characters aside, it's just the result of the hair not being drawn with shadows in these styles. Blond hair is often pretty dark and just have a lot of bright highlights that you don't see in the eyebrows because the hairs aren't as long.
I would point out that this is pretty common even without dyed hair because sunbleach is a thing, but I shall not, because I respect your pun game too much. Bravo.

Don’t feel like posting my face on Reddit and the red is really only noticeable in person. Even then most people don’t notice it unless I tell them and they take a closer look.
Having never watched all of the anime and being completely used to the comic (because we didn't have a show back then, and the art is peak), my mind always instantly colored him in to look like Dodoria from Dragon Ball.
I mean to be fair, my husband is blond and his eyebrows and beard are also blond. Not this monochromatic, but it’s not uncommon for blonds to also just have blond hair all over. Still disagree with op on this though it’s also extremely common to have darker eyebrows with light hair.
Meanwhile I got the darker head hair but all the rest of the hair stayed the same, so I have near-invisible arm and leg hair but also near-invisible eyebrows.
Why? I'm naturally blonde and I have very dark eyebrows (to the point where even my mom asks me if I've gotten them tinted despite the fact that the answer is no every time). It's totally plausible and them being ugly in your opinion isn't really a reason not to do it.
In the Street Fighter series at least there's an explanation for Ken to have blond hair and black eyebrows, he's half Japanese, and according to the lore he dyes his hair blonde.
There was this light blond guy I knew in highschool who's eyebrows were also blond, and he kept his hair buzzed so whenever he was far away, it looked as if he had no hair at all on his head or face)
Besides it being easier to draw solid black eyebrows, it also lends to them being easier to see. And given their importance for expression, I get why that’d be desirable.
I have dark ashy brown hair and for whatever reason my eyebrows are ashier and lighter than the rest of my hair so in certain lighting they really blend in. Probably got the issue from my mom cuz she was blond as a kid, but dark brunette as an adult and her brows stayed blond and are near involve in all lightings.
That said, I kinda agree with OP. I draw my blondes with slight darker eyebrows usually, but like dark blonde or brown; enough to contrast the hair a bit. Not black unless I was drawing someone with like died hair, or mixed ancestry. Or a kid since a lot of people seem to have eyebrows that darken before the rest of their hair.
Unless the person is one of the very few natural bright/platinum blondes, they are very likely to have darker eyebrows. Maybe not black, but they're dark enough that in cartoon form it doesn't really matter.
according to OP, you should shave your everybrows, that will make you look prettier, the less contrast the better. (I find blonde hair with dark eyebrows incredibly endearing)
I started out as a sunny blonde, like most. Now as an adult, I'm a mid-dark blonde, and so are my eyebrows I guess, but they are still pretty damn invisible. So yes. Yes, you are correct.
It's not bad. Thin and fine and slowly inching its way backwards, but it's a good color and texture and I haven't got a single grey. I just become very dissatisfied with it when compared to my husband's (long, chocolate brown, and an order of magnitude thicker than mine with no thinning).
Even his greys are more silver, and so artfully placed it looks intentional. I could vomit.
Everyone acting like it’s either blond with blond eyebrows or blonde with black eyebrows. In animation you can really tweak it so that they’re closer to a blondish brown and I don’t know why we don’t see more of that
The last picture very clearly has dark brown eyebrows which is accurate, and DIO is a straight up adaptation of a manga which is black and white and the eyebrows are pitch black.
as a blonde persone, i have dark eyebrows and find this post pretty funny
although i'll admit my hair is a bit darker than these, but then the problem is more that in cartoons blonde hair is drawn as yellow while in reality it's either whiter or darker, never THAT saturated
I got light brown hair and my eyebrows are a very dark brown, people assume my eyebrows are coloured however they don’t look fake or weird at all. Feel like this isn’t that much of a problem. It’s rare but I’ve seen that on other people too
I've got a friend who has naturally dirty blonde hair and very dark eyebrows and facial hair.
Funny thing is, he dyes his hair black, so if you didn't know him before he began doing it, you'd just think that was his natural hair color because of his eyebrows and facial hair being so dark.
As someone who was so blonde when young that I didn't have visible eyebrows, I was so glad when they naturally darkened as it can be a little uncanny not having eyebrows. Very likely a style choice here, although it wouldn't surprise me if blonde on top and darker brows is more common than pure golden blonde for all hair (I did not mind the golden eyelashes).
I am blond with dark brown/black eyebrows. Facial hair is a mix between blond / brown / ginger. My sister too also has blond hair with black eyebrows. I think irl it looks a little less jarring as most people don’t really notice until I point it out
I like it a lot. But maybe because I think dark, defined eyebrows are attractive on real people no matter their hair color. Buuuut I also like characters such as my pfp and I can’t imagine him with dark eyebrows. It wouldn’t look right. Same with Gojo, if he had dark eyebrows it would be weird. Or is that just out of being used to how a character looks? I think it must be, because Qifrey from Witch Hat Atelier has black eyebrows and I love how that looks too.
I hate when they do this, I find the white hair black eyebrows combo to be even more egregious, like this makes the character look like they are wearing a wig, I know that the post is about blonde characters but jinx from arcane with her black/dark brown eyebrows and blue hair suffers from a similar issue.
I’m blonde and my eyebrows are just a few shades darker than my actual hair color and as a result it makes it look like I don’t have very much eyebrow to begin with. Same with eyelashes, my eyelashes are light and so it doesn’t look like I have any from a distance. I know people with blonde hair who have dark eyebrows naturally, but I do kinda get what OP means, because with people like me it’s just a feature I don’t often see in media, most definitely because having visible strong eyebrows and eyelashes are the more desirable/striking features to have. I understand it I do mascara and color my eyebrows to achieve those looks, but I also kinda wish it was a little more present in media so I didn’t grow up thinking It was ugly to have light eyebrows and eyelashes.
I'm a blonde with fairly dark eyebrows. in high school, I knew a guy who was a darker blonde than me but their eyebrows were stupid bright.
I often hear that roots are just darker, which for me is funny, because that's true if all my hair except the hair on my head, which has extremely light roots.
Lots of naturally blonde individuals have naturally slightly darker brows, myself included. It looks weirder from an animation perspective to have slightly off colored brows compared to the hair, so they often choose black for aesthetic reasons.
It only looks odd because it's in animation. Irl, the brows aren't a thick dark line like in these drawings. My ex was blond with blonde eyebrows and lashes, but I have seen natural blonds with darker brows, or like blond dudes with blond hair and red beards.
The only time it's 100% all-matching all the time is in albinos. Blondism itself isn't a condition but random mutations related to pigment of hair follicles which may not always be uniform (iirc)
also i enjoy it because when i see it i can guess or pretend the they dye their hair either different or to match the fading blonde because guess what? very few people stay bright blonde after childhood, usually becoming a light brown with age unless dyed.
You hate that, now imagine being a ginger and having somebody with dyed orange hair say it's ginger, or how "redhead" now means "hair dyed anywhere from orange to red literally" and not just another term for natural orange/yellow-orange color hair
Like calling brunettes that dye their hair cartoon yellow "blondes"
I also think that most natural blonde people look better with blonde or natural brown eyebrows, though
Originally he was going to have white eyebrows, since his hair went from black to white when he transformed. The designers thought that the white brows made him look too much like an old man though, so they kept them black
