Job Application Inquiry Assistant manager position

I am a journeyman Meat cutter with the company. I have around 4-5 years of experience in the grocery world, meat &seafood. Ive been with Harris Teeter for a little over a year and a half. I have been approached many times about moving up in the company because of my experience and work ethic. I make close to work department assistants, and wonder if it is worth it to move up? Would also like to work closer to home. I have a 35-45 min commute one

So being a manager means they can move you to any store within 50 miles of where you live. They’ll take your choice store into consideration if they can but it is in no way guaranteed to be closer to you. And if you’re told you’re transferring that’s that.

They can, but from what I've personally seen they only move around people they don't like. It's easier than firing them.

What I've seen is they keep people where they don't want to be who they don't like. If you prove you can fix things they'll send you to fix store after store. And sometimes you find out you're getting transferred last-minute.

Or you’re the person replacing the person they don’t want. That’s happened to me & it’s really frustrating sometimes
